  1. Yeah, after reading my last reply I feel I am trying to convince myself that a conversion for my 650 is probably the way to go
  2. Thanks for all the advice guys. I owned 2 SDBs which I sold to buy the 650. SDBs are great, but I don't like the idea of only being able to use the SDB dies. I need the press for top notch accuracy. AZ38, thanks for the offer I have loaded on a Lee Pro 1000 before and they're good presses. Better than some people think. I must admit though that for bullseye type shooting I found the powder system to be a little too inconsistent.
  3. Those are some big pennies!
  4. I want to shoot some Bulleye type stuff with a .38 Special revolver. I'll probably shoot about 200 rounds per month tops. Now I already own a 650XL set up for .45 and 9mm (which I shoot a lot). I've been looking to get a conversion for .38 Special, but the amount I will shoot does not justify the price of a Quick change with powdercheck and dies ($300). So what would you get? Accuracy is my first goal. Single stage press? Turret Press? I can get a complete Lee Single stage kit including Dies and measure for under $100. Suggestions?
  5. It took me a while. I switched from S&W revolvers to Glocks, which is a big change. It takes some time to get used to the new platform, but the cool thing is that (at least for me) it's really easy to switch back to the old platform. I shot a Glock for about six months and didn't touch a revolver in that time. But when I finally picked up the revolver again, the sights were exactly where they should be everywhere I pointed the gun You can learn new platforms without forgetting the old ones.
  6. +1 on sights from Angus.
  7. I had the same problem. Gave me much stress on tight shots, because the dragging would screw up the trigger pull. Use a shim and it worked like a charm
  8. Glock 17. I love it because it is cheap, reliable and it does what it needs to do. Install some good sights and the 3.5lbs. connector and you can play about any game with it except Revolver Divisions.
  9. The CZ75 is perfectly legal in just about any game I can think of. The only reason I mentioned the SP01 is that the capacity is higher (16+1 vs 18+1). This advantage is only noticeable if you start shooting international IPSC matches where you can load you Production guns to full capacity. I would just stick with the CZ75.
  10. Looks good. +1 on what the rest said. If you will only shoot in the USPSA, the CZ75 is a great choice. Otherwise, I would go for the SP01. You could also shop around for a good used gun. Saves you a couple of $. You don't have a belt listed I see. My vote goes to a CR Speed Belt. Have fun!
  11. It wants to take the preciousssss............ We could ask Flex to change Dave Hearths' Forum name to "Lord of the Clips"....
  12. Slip it around your finger. If you disappear it's a genuine HearthCo... One clip to rule them all...
  13. Heheh, thanks TL No doubt, I would have been a country boy, if I were born in the US
  14. Well, thanks for the tips. I'll try it first thing !
  15. I have to admit that Walther/H&K type mag releases are definataly effective. Chances of dropping a mag when you don't want it (table pickups etc.) are very very small.
  16. Uh... that's physically kinda hard to do no matter which gender you are.....! I know, but the results are completely different
  17. Guy only... Pee against an electric fence. Cross your legs before you sit on a chair (don't ask). Have your expert horse back riding GF take you on your first ride with you wearing boxer shorts instead of briefs.
  18. + 1 on what most here said. Jumpy, not very accurate, crappy sights, bad trigger, no aftermarket parts and only 16+1 (for those who shoot international IPSC Production with it). They look very cool though!

    A Bad One

    Indeed! Ouch! Still LMAO
  20. +5 on the Land Sharks. If you have problems with Nike, try other Football cleats (American Football cleats, that is. No cleats for regular Football, also referred to as Soccer)
  21. A friend of mine shot his 629 in IPSC for a while. The problems he has was trying to find good Round Nosed bullets to reload faster (the end solution being hollowpoints with the cavity filled up with a BB Clips are kind of a pain. They're expensive, fragile and you hope they will fit your brass. My friend had a whole bunch of brass that fit too loose in the clips, so he bought some .41 magnum clips and machined them to the dimentions of his own brass. He now shoots my old 625 by the way I would buy it and use the gun in the woods. For IPSC, I would just get the equal sized 625. Just my 2ct. Plated bullets are no problem. The crimp should be as little as possible without bullet set-back. Try to leave the plating unharmed.
  22. .45 ACP as the "new" standard Military/LEO round would be awesome. Cheap .45 brass for all!
  23. Viggen, EPP only allows "unmodified" .38/.357 revolvers. Reloads don't really matter. There is only one in the first string. The first string in EPP is 4 shots, reload, 6 shots (total of 10 shots) in 15 seconds at a 10cm circle at 7 meters. This is plenty of time to use the speedloader. Bjorn
  24. Travis, I recently got my first DQ and it sucked. It was terrible, because I caused an unsafe situation. I used to be one of those people who believed they would never be DQ-ed. I slipped on a loose piece of wood in an indoor range and broke the 180. No AD or anything, but it damaged my ego pretty badly. Just hang in there. Get back to shooting ASAP and you will be fine in no-time
