  1. I watch a lot of foreign (to the US) and independent US movies and ask myself the same question over and over. Can't help but blame Hollywood and the marketing machine behind it. But then again, that might just be ignorance on my behalf
  2. Gabe, welcome! To get a good grip everytime, you need to practice that in dryfire: getting a good grip everytime Don't accept anything less and make sure you have a good grip before you start pulling the trigger. A race holster will improve your draw times maybe a little, once you get to a certain level, but the DOH will take you as far as you want to go. Winning matches is not in the holster, it's in the practice. Also, race holsters in Production are only legal in IPSC Production, not in USPSA Production. Be sure of which one you shoot before you buy one. It would be a shame to waste money on an "illegal" holster Cheers!
  3. The 17 is a great gun if you want a Glock 9mm. There is nothing it won't do that a G34 will.
  4. Cool, I'm 8-1 for UFC 78 As for the Serra vs. Hughes thing, I don't follow TUF anymore, but the fight is one that could go either way IMO. I would give the edge to Hughes tho. Hughes has great Jiu-Jitsu skills (look at his beautiful armbar victory over GSP) and will outwrestle Serra. His BJJ skills didn't show against BJ, but that's like having Rob Leatham face any M-class shooter and calling the M-class shooter a loser... I think GSP made the mistake of trying to stand with Serra to avoid his strong points (BJJ). Hughes will not be afraid to take Serra down and GnP him into oblivion.

    Glock sights

thanks spook! if i'm not mistaken i've seen you on the 2005 worldshoot dvd, shooting revolver, really fast shootin' with a wheelgun! its an honor to correspond with you. slickrick, thanks ! You'll love this pace if you want to improve your shooting. I joined these forums when I never took a shot at an IPSC target. A welth of information and some tremendously nice people to boot. I learned to shoot here.

LOL! No it doesn't shoot dead center (for me). I drifted the whole thing to the right. That's just Glock + me Now the sights shoot POI = POA

I have the Ameriglo Fixed Target sights on my G17 and they give a verrrrry crisp sweet sight picture. The notch is .150 wide and the front is .090" wide. The light on either side is about 0.75x the width of the front sight, so LOTS of light. That means some fast shot calling. Oh, and it's even lower than the factory sights
  8. Single Stack with a Norinco 1911. Or Production with a G17. All used of course.
  9. I opened this topic execting a discussion about how JErry is the Michael Jordan of shooting... Oh well....
  10. I always wondered if I would be able to reload the 610 quicker than the 625. I figured the smaller bullets combined with some serious chamfering would be faster. Can someone who owns both a 610 and a 625 post a picture of the chargeholes side by side? Hi Spook I can answer your question I shot the 4 inch 610 for 3 seasons IDPA and IPSC 1 season after alot of shooting with the 610 I switched to 625 for the reload times after one month of shooting the 625 my reloads became .80 faster one month!! now after a full summer of shooting the 625 my reloads are 1.00 faster than the 610. on my 610 I even did the dremel champhering after Jerry M. showed me one of his 610s After seeing Jerrys champher I think Dr. Dremel may be in trouble. hope this helps to save you time and $$$. ps on good days you can load both guns at about the same rate. IPSC most reloads are on the move, thus the time difference is not much a factor. IDPA all reloads are flat footed behind cover. this is where the reload speed increase helps. Gary Cheetahs, thanks for the info You write about Jerry's chamfer on his 610. Was that a typo or did he really shoot one? Can you tell me some more about the chamfering on his gun? I'm really interested! Delta Mike, thanks for the pic Yes, I see a lot more metal between the chageholes on the 610. But I also think the chamfering could be a lot more agressive (nearly removing any metal at the face of the cylinder). What do you think?
  11. Guess I forgot to insert this little feller into my "diamonds" post:

  13. FWIW, my 625-2 was a lot slower than my 625-4
  14. There's a lot of talent in 185. It's just not in the UFC Paulo Filho, Matt Lindland and Denis Kang coem to mind BTW, I just read Evan Tanner just resigned with the UFC. Hope he keeps his act together. He had some nice fights.
  15. That's something frustrating I run into with the Glock. Mags drop so slow that my primary focus is on dropping the old mag instead of getting the new one I found out it helps to not just tap the mag catch to release the mag, but to actually hold it until the top of the magazine is past the catch, to reduce friction...
  16. I hope they will get Sokoudjou in the 205. That would make it complete. That guy is a friggin' animal. The way he knocked out Nogueira and Arona... Plus Judo in MMA rocks!
  17. 205 is stacked but 185 sucks. I really don't know who can handle Anderson. How about Hendo dropping too 185 or Lindland if they ever sign him?
  18. FWIW, Juergen Flass (Top Modified Shooter in Europe) has shot both and told me the OKO always breaks in one way or another and the C-More withstands the violence of his modified guns.
  19. To be honest, I didn't know scooping was a bad thing, but I am always willing to change to improve. Thanks Scooping isn't bad, just make sure your thumb clears the backstrap before the gun clears the holster, so you can actually grip the gun and not lift is out of the holster with just your fingers by the front strap. +1 And another +1 That was my first thought. Just train for consistency. I never give up consistency for speed (at least that is my goal ) Make sure you get faster while maintaining top-consistency. I have noticed (with myself) that consistency is one of the first things to deteriorate during live fire, compared to dry fire. So I accept nothing but 100% in dry fire.
  20. RS, thanks for posting
  21. Very true. Combine that with a near 100% consistency and you're there
  22. Congratulations man! It's great when the girl's happy isn't it?
