Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Are you going to take my suggestion and run the trail downhill this year? Be careful what you ask for Jon, there's a very steep drop off I could make part of the trail run and it would suit me just fine .....you know, thats actually not a bad idea, Thanks Jon
  2. Here's a good warmup match for the IRC: http://www.columbia-cascade.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/2012-Northwest-Revolver-Championships.pdf
  3. Leave it the way it is and learn to shoot it. I made A class shooting a 5" version with full length 38spl/132 pf using Starline brass, Hearhco .025" clips and 158grRN. It can be done
  4. I think Blueridge really came up with the best idea yet -- Open Revolver Div. Keep it real simple, any revolver setup that doesn't fall within the current Revolver Div. rules is in Open -- 7/8 shot, comps, dot/iron, major/minor and if S&W decides to make a 10 shot X frame, you're all set. Those who are convinced there are a bunch shooters just waiting for a Revolver Div to run their 8 shooters in USPSA will have a chance to prove it. This way you won't disrupt those who are setup for & happy with the division the way it is and also provides new shooters a less expensive way to shoot USPSA with a wheelgun. JV
  5. "not belittling those that might want to participate differently" Dave, my intentions was not to belittle anyone, but to point out a fact. The Number 1 comment I get at a match is about reloads especially standing reloads and never in a positive way. But then, most don't understand why we'd choose a wheelgun over a auto anyway. If you want to have a chance to increase participation, it's about attitude. Don't be negitive or whine about the stages, take on the challenge, improve your skills and as you place higher it will get others attention -- especially if you look like your having fun......which it is. Changing the rules away from 6 shot only to accomadate a few peoples comfort zone, will probably drive more away than attract. Because there are a lot more 6 shooters availible at reasonable costs than the expensive 627. Just My Opinion buckaroo45 -- thanks JV
  6. This whole topic of allowing 8 shots into Revolver Div comes down to the standing reload . There are those who are intimidated by it and want a level playing field......get over it, Revolver Div is all UPHILL !!! That's part of the fun -- keep it that way !!! Plus it keeps the weak of heart from polluting the gene pool of the Division Revolver Division gives those of us who prefer the revolver platform a place to play in USPSA despite the challenges. In fact, most of the wheelgunners I've shot with, embrace those challenges -- A Breed Apart
  7. Try this one: http://www.columbia-cascade.org/Special%20Events/2011%20Northwest%20Revolver%20Championships.pdf
  8. I hear the range master is kind of a flake, though Ya, I heard the same thing.....
  9. If you liked Area 1, Mike McCarter is Match Director of this one also.
  10. Saturday, August 6th http://www.columbia-...ampionships.pdf How's that Jon

  12. "I believe the idea of the extra shot is actually a bad thing.. if you are taking extra shots, you are being sloppy and not making your shots count. In ICORE, time and accuracy the first time is everything. If you NEED to take extra shots and you NEED those two extra, then you aren't paying enough attention the first time to make your shots count" +1 Vince, pretty much the conclusion I've come to also
  13. If you want to shoot 6 shots, Retro/Classic or Limited I don't have a problem being competitive with my 6 shot 686, in fact I just sold my 627 V8 because I do better with my 686 . Shoot what works best for you, not what top shooters use, because they are at the top more for talent and hard work, than the gun they use.
  14. What CCW did is so wrong I'll never buy anything from them - EVER !! Dave's a great guy to deal with and makes a great product -- have 8 of his speedloaders & a 120rd loading block, all good stuff
  15. You probably didn't notice Norm, but this thread is from last year's match Thanks for posting it anyway
