  1. This was my first fix. Hair ties zip-tied to the clip and wrapped around the base of the dies. It worked well, but I wanted a more permanent solution. I just stuck them back on for the picture. I'm now using the spring.
  2. Yes, the "spring" mod enables you to use a compressor to blow out any debris from a smashed primer, and it enables you to get the primer out of there without removing the tab. I thought about cutting the slot longer as well so I could loosen the screw a little and slide the tab back out of the way, but I haven't tried it yet. It slows me down when I have to get the allen wrench, loosen the screw, clear the problem, and then tighten it again.
  3. I would like to replace the white plastic wedge ("Primer Station retain tab"?) that hold the shells at the primer station on my 1050 with the metal piece that looks like a paper clip. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thank you
  4. Yes, I had the same problem, so I made a washer out of aluminum with a loop on one side for attaching a spring. It works really well. I got the springs at HomeDepot, and I used the smaller one. I had to rig another solution for my .38 toolhead that I can show you if this doesn't work for you.
  5. My load is a 147 grain bullet doing 940fps. I have a Holosun 510 zeroed at 25 yards, and the other day, I tried to hit a popper at 225 yards. I had to use the bottom (6 o'clock) hash mark on the big 65 MOA ring to hit it.
  6. Right now I run 147 gr Extreme with 2.8gr Titegroup and get 940 fps in my AR9, but I just got some 124 gr Blue Bullets, and I was also wondering how many grains of Titegroup to use for them. Does anyone use Titegroupwith 124gr coated bullets? Thank you, Chris
  7. Cool! I sent that link to a friend, and he bought one immediately. Thank you
  8. I don't remember when I heard about this trick, but I'm glad I tried it. If you are using range brass to reload, I highly recommend putting a magnet on your case feeder. Even though I drag a magnet over my 9mm brass after I wet tumble it and bake it, a steel case with berdan primer holes got through my sorting and ended up in my case feeder. However, since I attached a magnet to the metal clamp at the top of the case feeder tube, the steel case stuck to the side of the tube and didn't end up crunching my decapping pin. When the steel case gets stuck to the side of the tube by the magnet, then next case that falls on it activates the shut-off switch on the case feeder, and no more cases come down. I found that an old computer hard drive magnet works perfectly. They are small and strong. Here are some pictures of the magnet placement and the steel case close-up. Let me know if you have any other clever tips for the Dillon 1050. Thank you, Chris
  9. I cut down my 16" barrel to 13.25" with a 3" comp, so my Taccom Carbon Fiber handguard is just under 13". I bought the 16" handguard and cut it down to come right to the end of the barrel.
  10. I don't even use a gunbelt. I have two kydex pouches that clip on any belt for emergencies, and I have one CR Speed that I use tilted to the side for speed reloads on the classifiers. I love not wearing a gun and a whole rig. I feel lighter and its a lot easier to pick up steel when resetting targets! I get made fun of for shooting a Gucci cheater gun, but it gives me a grin all day, so who cares.
  11. Have you tried running a drill bit through the comp to make sure the bullets are not scraping the comp? Mine had to be drilled out a little because the holes were not exactly even with the barrel.
  12. Where do you mount Karl Bibb's 3D printed bullet feeder on a Super 1050? It's the same design as Ammo Mikes, and Karl has permission to sell them. He just finished printing and assembling one for me, but I'm not sure what to do about the mount. They are designed to be mounted on the front of the Dillon Casefeeder, but I thought that I read somewhere that the angle was wrong in front, and it needed to be mounted on the back side of the case feeder. He said that I can put the mounting bracket on the other side of the collater, but the angle would be wrong. He would have to print an new one with the right angle. Before I have him do that I wanted to make sure. Does anyone has a 1050 with a 3D printed bullet feeder?
  13. I made a modification to my trays that adds some separation between them so they hold more brass without clogging up. I cut 1.5" strips of the interlocking anti-fatigue foam floor mat from harbor freight and placed them around the outside edge of the black and blue trays. I think it works better. I also cut down my 5-gallon bucket a little to reduce the rattling a little.
  14. They make plate that you drop into the yellow or blue tray https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DKVY5GK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It separates 9mm from 38 super; however, it will not catch 38 supercomp. They also make a plate for .380 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C66560O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  15. When I first set up my 1050, I changed to a DAA powder funnel, and the cases were sticking. I took my funnel to my jeweler friend who buffed it on his polishing wheel for a bit, and it doesn't stick anymore!
  16. I just got my everglades hold down die in the mail today and installed it immediately on my 1050. I was amazed at the difference. Before I installed it, my primers were seated flush, now they are well below flush. You can feel the inside edge of the primer pocket when you rub your finger across the case bottom. I didn't realize how much the 9mm brass moved in the shell plate. However, now I guess I need to adjust my primer seater, because they are so deeply seated that the primers are slightly crushed. LOL I just got my 1050 and am learning a lot.
  17. I found this on Amazon by searching "large funnel" I'm putting in my cart! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CF49Q22?pf_rd_p=1cac67ce-697a-47be-b2f5-9ae91aab54f2&pf_rd_r=6FEWZ1ETGYEWH0DPHD9V
  18. I got a Mini from a guy here on enos to use on my 1050 until I can get a 3-D printed feeder, and I really like it. Loading the magazine takes a bit of time, but the benefits of not touching the bullets again for another 100 pulls of the handle is nice. Also, the DAA powder funnel flares the brass perfectly for the bullet to sit properly in the case without flopping to the side. The only thing you have to do is polish the DAA powder funnel so it doesn't stick in the case on the upstroke. I don't miss holding the round straight until it goes into the die.
  19. On a 1050, would I lose the powder check station if I installed a Mini bullet feeder?
  20. Which barrel do you have? Is yours one of the early X5s? If I were to buy a new one now, would it have the same potential problem?
  21. I had not thought about it messing with my trigger reset. I have a CMC 9mm trigger.
  22. Right now I am using a heavy pistol buffer and a .308 rifle spring in a Phase 5 Rifle Stock Assembly. I was wondering if switching to the Taccom Adjustable Recoil System would reduce felt recoil or reduce the dot movement? Does anyone have experience with this system? I would also like to know if its worth getting the extra short stroke upgrade kit.
