  1. I want to get Warren tactical sights for my G34, and I was wondering which height to get for a fiber optic front sight. Thanks, Chris
  2. The Central Coast Wheelgunners (Hogue Range--home of the SW Regional and the IRC) has 3 open shooters under 100 seconds. I wasn't even close.
  3. A friend of mine brought me his XD 9mm 4" to diagnose the malfunction. The slide will not travel all the way back to slide lock since there is a noticeable bulge in the middle of the barrel. After talking to him, he confirmed that when his son was shooting it they probably had a squib load. He was going to send it back to Springfield to have it repaired, but I'm not sure what they would do for a bulged barrel. Does anyone know if they would replace the barrel for free? If not, where can I get a factory barrel or a good aftermarket for the same price? Thanks, Chris
  4. I picked up 88 pounds of what I assume is once-fired police brass after they had a clinic at our range. I want to sell the cases, but I don't want to count them out. Does anyone know how much 1000 .223 cases weigh or how I can determine how many I have? Thanks, Chris
  5. I have M&P9 with the APEX CompAEK, and I use Tula (Wolf) primers loading on a 650. They go bang 99.5% of the time. Every two hundred rounds or so i get a dud. I don't know if that is a poorly made primer or the lighter trigger. I bet they would have the same fail rate in a stock M&P or a Glock.
  6. If you want a sling adapter plug, Spikes Tactical makes one: https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32&products_id=121&zenid=8a911bc1a57d81d6d309b494c4f764e8 However, I was looking for a $2.00 solution, not a $24.00 one.

  8. I am using the exilemachine "Hammerhead" grip on my CA featureless AR for 3-gun. Since I am also using an ACE UL stock and not mounting the buttstock to the hammerhead grip, I would like to plug the holes in the rear of the grip. AR Pistol reveiver plugs are the same size, but I wanted a cheaper solution than payin $20-$25 for an aluminum threaded plug when I just want to plug the holes in the plastic grip. Thanks, Chris
  9. That did the trick! I trimmed 1/8" from the bottom rear "leg" of the follower, and now the last round has a little wiggle room. The mags still take a little pressure to seat, but it's alot better. I can even use the UPLULA for all ten rounds. Previously only 9 would go in with the loader, and the tenth had to be squeezed in by hand. I hope trimming the rear leg of the follower does not cause any feed issues in the future, but time will tell.
  10. I have a M&P 9 with 10-round magazines. The 10th round is hard to get in the magazine, and they do not seat into the gun very easily if you have the slide forward. Here is the issue I am having. In competition, when I am putting a full magazine into the gun that already has a round "in the pipe," the magazine does not want to seat without smacking it. I found that I was actually hitting the mag twice to make sure it was seated. The bad part is that the second hit on the mag would actually knock the slide out of battery. It took three stages for me to find out why I kept getting a "dead trigger." So here is my question, How do I modify the magazine so that the 10th round is not under so much pressure? Does the follower have legs that hit the bottom floor plate when the mag is full? If so, how much can I trim off the legs to give the last round more room? If not, can the big plastic floor plate be modified to allow the spring more room? I know that the spring could be cut, but that is a last resort. Thanks, Chris
  11. I just got a MKIII 22/45 from Ruger and also got 3 extra mags for it. However, the magazine packaging says MKII on the label. Is there a difference between the twop mags? I noticed that the ones that came wit the MKIII gun had a black "knurled" thumb stud and a ct out portion that exposes the spring. They also had a small ledge that sticks out about an inch from the top. The three extra mags that were labelled MK II have a silver smooth thumb stud, no exposed spring and no ledge. Can anyone tell me why they are different? Also, do MK II mags work in MK III guns? I suppose that after my 10 day waiting period, I can find out myself, but I am curious now. Thanks, Chris
  12. I started with a G17, the switched to a G34 since that extra .9" was going to make me shoot WAY better--it did not. I shot it in IDPA SSP than got bored and switched to USPSA Production, but I could never get used to the aweful feel of the grip. I recently got an M&P 9, and I LOVE it. I put the APEX Competition AEK, the APEX RAM, Dawson FO Front sight, and a Warren Tactical Rear sight. I am about to order some X-Treme grip rubberized decals to make the back strap a little "grippier." It fits my hand perfectly, runs reliably, and points where I aim it, not high like the G34. I am not flaming the Glock, but I love the M&P alot more now!
  13. Dawson Precision FO front sight Warren Tactical Rear Awesome!!!
  14. I assumed the bottom part was plastic. Haven't had one in my hand yet.
  15. I am eagerly awaiting my M&P9 that should arrive in August. However, as I shop for accessories, I am confused about changing the base pads on the 10 round mags. It doesn't look like the 10-8 or for that matter any other aftermarket base pads will fit on since the bottom 1/3 of the mag is plastic. I want to change them for two reasons, durability and fit in a double mag pouch. Any ideas? I'd appreciate it, Chris
  16. Which FF tubes will work with piston conversions without going to a big square rail tube? Chris
  17. Do you want to sell it? PM me Thanks, Chris
  18. Raymond, Thank you for the great pictures of the back of the device. I have a DPMS lo pro upper with a recess milled into the side of the upper in which the bolt release paddle sits almost flush. According to the DPMS website, the Magpul BAD Lever will not work on a lo pro upper, so I was looking for an alternative. I was wondering whether the ERBv2 would clear the upper, and I think your pics of the back of the device have given me my answer. Thanks again, Chris
  19. I need to buy an air compressor for my work bench for chores like blowing out my guns after cleaning, filling up my car/motorcycle tires, and blowing the spilled powder out of my Dillon. Do I need more than a 2 gallon tank? I would like to hide it under my work bench. Thanks for the input, Chris
  20. I did a search for information on this topic, but I didn't find much. Do these Enidine AR-Restors really work well in a 16" barrel/fixed buttstock AR with a Miculek Comp for 3-gun? Do they reduce muzzle flip enough? Do they make it difficult to lock the bolt back? I am hoping someone out there has some real 3-gun match experience with one. Thanks
  21. I just got a Remington 1100 for 3-gun, and I want to buy some extra O-rings. However, I don't want to pay $4.54 for Remington brand. Who sells aftermarket rings in bulk packs? I heard the best material was Viton(spelling?). Could you 3-gun vets give me some info. Thanks you, Chris
