  1. The "Make Ready" command has been given. You are allowed to handle a loaded firearm at this time. As long as no rules or the 180 is broken, do the routine you like.
  2. It happens.. To all of us. At least you brought all your gear. At MRPC I'm notorious for forgetting to bring all my gear. Still looking forward to seeing the video.
  3. A coach is a great Idea. Check out The Practical Shooting Academy. Ron is the best and can help immensely.
  4. Don't feel bad. I started shooting USPSA/IDPA as a gun COLLECTOR not a competitor. I never dropped mags, shot in bad weather or anything that could hurt the value of my gear. It took a while for me to change my attitude. If you are just shooting to be out shooting and have fun and are not comfortable dropping mags, then stuff them bad boys back in their pouches, and have fun. Too many and's.
  5. The camera always shuts off when I want a pic of me.
  6. Any .40 projectiles yet?
  7. I would like this rule clarified as well. I have SOed several shooter who have tried to holster safety off on a SA Firearm, I don't let them.
  8. If there is no movement, slidelock. I like to do tac loads if there is a lot of movement behind cover. If it helps I like to get my reload out of the way while I'm moving and can't be shooting.
  9. What is CCFSA? You live like what, 15 minutes from them and you don't know what CCFSA is? Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association !2 minutes away. I just wanted to make ask if that is what he meant. Did not want to bring my home IDPA club into the discussion. We shoot IDPA the first sunday every month. Practice every wednesday. Look me or Bob up. You can't miss either one of us. Trying to Get USPSA as well. Could use help getting it here. ahem, cough, Keen, cough...... Welcome to the club.
  10. I would have to agree that most new guns out of the box are ready for a gunsmith. If you are like most 1911 competitors, that small hitch in the trigger, that sharp burr, or putting a 1000 rounds through the gun just to make it run 100% will drive you nuts. I'm not knocking factory builders they do a great job for the most part, it is that we are very particular about our setups and no two like the exact same setup. The best value IMHO would be to buy a tuned gun from a dealer/gunsmith. I know a great one who I think has a Spartan 9 right now.
  11. Cut grip tape a little long so you can wrap it around the grip panels just enough so that when you tighten the grips down the grips will hold the tape in place.
  12. I ought to just drive the service truck to matches and fire up the air compressor.
  13. Try some different ammo. Winchester white box is a great one to try. I had the same problem with the same ammo in my edge. It could just be the breaking in blues. Winchester white box is my go to factory ammo.
  14. My experience the 9mm 1911's do not work as well from the factory as 45's, but after a little work they are very addicting to shoot. So little recoil it feels like you are cheating. I have a Kart bbl in my Kimber that FGW installed. I have never put it on a bench, but it does not take much paint to clean up the steel after shooting a group. Very accurate gun.
  15. Both. Cuts down on my small girl like flinch and saves what hearing I have left.
  16. Side by side from Great grandfather on. Side by side from Great Great grandfather. WWI trainer very low serial # model 12 winchester from great uncle. Pre 64 model 70 in .308 from great uncle. Savage 99 in 300 savage from my grandfather. 788 Remington 22-250 from my father. My first true custom built custom serial # pistol from Freedom Gunworks.
  17. +1 load them up and let them sit.
  18. I'm getting around 840fps 168pf with a 200g lead tc 3.8g N320 al 1.180 out of a 5" Edge.
  19. I think a locknut would be a good idea, or beef up the center allen bolt. I just love the way they work and easily adjust.
  20. I don't shoot a glock without one. Love them. Even on my cary g19.
  21. I'm getting ready to try some 200g lead tc's this weekend. I'm going to try it with n320. I'll see how it goes.
  22. Us guys who like the big iron will have to be in the fields working that date
