  1. I had no idea about last years match. I think more would come if the word gets out. As long as the temp is above of the single digits... I did not have block heaters installed on my guns.
  2. October. That puts all the farmers out. Bummer
  3. Not a big fan yet. My blackberry will not load the whole page now. I do (or did) most of the forum surfing on my phone while working.
  4. Happy birthday Bobby. I hope its so good you will not be able to remember it.
  5. Ray, You can borrow my gun anytime and shoot it as much as you want. It is not a radical lightening job but some fat was taken out of the nose. You bailed my butt out at my very first ever USPSA match. I would love to return the favor.
  6. It makes me feel like less of a little girl about my flinch when I see them do that on TV. But seriously it sucks.
  7. +1 If you are serious about a new Kimber, buy your gunsmith lunch, take him with you and have him look it over before you buy. I have several Kimbers. The old ones are better than the new ones.
  8. One option is, you can pick out which ever grip you like then send them to Freedom Gunworks. Bobby will paint them to look like what you want.
  9. Thanks, now I'm the little fish in a small pound full of a BIG sharks Stay away from the hooks and dorsal fins and you should be OK. Limited is a blast. The competition is very heavy. If you are at or near the top of any match even local, you did something right.
  10. I recommend getting Ron Avery's videos. They are VERY helpful.
  11. I hope it comes out sooner than later. That would really speed up the process if I don't have to stop every little bit and clean the die.
  12. Check out Freedom Gunworks here in the vendor area. They just finished a grip for me. Awesome work. I have pictures posted there.
  13. Does he take pictures of match screw ups? For the right price he won't even post them! I'll be stealing the show. I'm used to being the star of the blooper reel.
  14. Yea I shot a glock. My 1911's don't have a block heater.
  15. Well I am back from the dead finally. It was the longest harvest in 10 years. I tried to keep dryfiring and working out as much as possible to keep from loosing what little I gained this pas summer, but about mid November that all went to hell in a hand basket. I got lazy. All I wanted to do was sleep when I was at the house. Now I'm paying for it. The long process of playing catch up is underway. Shot my first match since September on Sunday. Temps in the single digits froze my digits. It was an experience for sure. I paid no attention to strategy just keeping warm.
  16. IMO accuracy is always better. If you are expert and above going faster will mean more because in most cases you will already be an accurate shooter. Sharp Shooter and below (like me) slowing down and getting zeros will greatly improve your overall score.
  17. While listening to the radio the other day I heard on a short preview of the news that at the last minute several "2nd amendment provisions" were added to the senate version of the health care bill just before the vote. Does anybody know what these "provisions" are?
  18. Take this with a grain of salt because I have not seen this but was just told about it. I was told that if you search over the Tripp mags you will be able to find one every once and a while that WILL hold 11.
  19. I think it does help. Mine are working great now after they got broken in.
  20. The ETM's use very strong springs. In my Kimbers you have to really give it a good smack to get a fully loaded mag to seat. I'm not sure if changing the OAL will solve your problem. Its just that there is so much force holding that first round in place. Mine got easier to seat the more I used them. My only suggestion would be to leave them loaded for a while and see if it starts working.
