  1. george, welcome to my world, we've been pay close to that for nearly 2 years. right now reg. unleaded is 2.37, super is at 2.59 a gallon. and the bitch is I live on maui, the big island of hawaii, which is 100 miles farther from the refinerey is 10 less a gallon, wth. oh yea, also there's a hurricane that coming our way, it suppose to pass 60 miles south of the state, but the weather forcaster haven't got anything right this year.
  2. Eric, I've had a front sights fall off of guns and the quick fix I've used, is to remove the sight. use a center punch and hammer. and center punch the bottom of the dovetail on the slide about 5-10 times. turn the sight over and do the same to the bottom of the sight. put a few drops of locktite red on the dovetail and reinstall the sight. the center punching will raise a burr around the holes, taking up gap between the sight and the slide. the locktite will flow into these holes, and when hardened will lock the sight in place.

    Loctite?

locktite 272, with is their red that is both high strength and high temp. never had one come loose after using it. much better than the regular 271.
  4. I shoot a 4 port hybricomp, with a caspian x comp. everyone tells me its loud, but I think the blast is worse for the RO than it is for the shooter. or maybe I'm just deaf after shooting it for 10 years with the 124 gn heads, it's soft shooting, but it does hurt with the 115's or shooting thru a barrel.

    Short Shorts

Eric, you know we only export the ugly ones, all the real babes are not allowed to travel. aloha
  6. your telling me, peanacbet, chichalon, pork and pea, and dunaguan (please excuse my spelling) are a few of my favorite thing. too bad they give me gout.
  7. mquitos, change your diet, as good as that food is, all that grease and colestrol will kill ya, or at least slow you down.
  8. hell it was only a fake bomb scare, our range is used to blow up the real ones they find here. every so often the bomb squad shows up with every thing from hand grenades to 100 lbs of tnt and sets them off.
  9. the black rubber mesh has been used on slope that are fairly steep, if I were to guess, I'd say around 65 degrees. I don't have a clue whats its called or where to get it, i'll try to get a picture of this stuff and send it to you.
  10. don't know if this will help you, but on our range, they layed a cloth mesh on the berms that were eroding away, and that seemed to hold the dirt in place until the weeds grews enough to hold it in place. also on alot of construction sites I've seen them lay down a thick rubber mesh that looks about 4 inches thick, with the mesh opening looking about 4 inches wide. they lay down huge sheets of this stuff on the hill side, fill and cover the mesh up with sand and planted grass on it.
  11. cover the press when it's not in use, ether with the dillon fitted press cover or an old pillow case. don't know why it works, but it does.
  12. I hate that we're number 1 again, highest damn gas prices in the country. $2.27 a gallon for regular, gas prices are dropping every where but here.
  13. tbf, yes, ether use the x die with the spindle back out some or sue your old die. give me a couple of days, I'll dig out the instruction, scan them and e-mail them to you.
  14. the latest brownells catalog listed 2 svi spring, one for the wide body and one for 1911.
  15. I have a 450 and the thing I would check out before buying it are, which version it is. on the original 450, the priming system and powder drop were manual. as dillion upgraded the machine it added the auto prime and auto powder drop systems. if the machine is a later production one with the up grades, I would take a hard look at it, if it's not, check on the price of those 2 upgrades along with the price of the machine. the major cost of the 550 upgrade is the frame which allows you to use the removeable tool heads. It is a great convince, but you don't really need it. if your going to be change calibers, chuck the dillon die locking nut and pick up the one from rcbs. the rcbs locking nuts have a allen head set screw that allow you to lock in the adjustments on your dies. once you got them set, screw them in tight and your ready to re-load. the original price of the 450 where under 250 bucks. if it a later machine with all the up grades, I'd buy it.
  16. got one and love it. basic set up is on your initall loading is to resize all you brass normally, and trim them 20 thousands shorter than trim length. load them up and go shoot them. on your next loading, back the spindle out, lube and resize the case in the x die. then turn the spindle in until you feel hard contact with the case mouth. and it's set for that batch of brass. the thing to watch for is collapsing the shoulders on the cases. using the x-die and the hornady 0ne shot case lube allows me to load my rifle rounds the same way I load pistol, lube'm load'm and shoot'm
  17. if you don't what to take the chance of hurting the finish, brownell's sell 2 barrel vise clamps. the cheap $15 one is aluminum, and the expensive one is 50 buck. the $50 one has a thick rubber lining that grips the barrel and allow you to remove the flash hider without having to heat it up. also the only part that touches the barrel is the rubber lining so there is no chance of it hurting the finish.
  18. I had a aimtech, drilled and tapped it for a side saddle, which added a lot more stress than it was designed for, and the damn thing broke . it is well made, the down side is you gotta be real carefull while tighting it. too tight and you'll squeeze the receiver, too loose, well you get the picture.
  19. stalion, oh to be 18 again. the last time I ran a few miles, I hurt for a week, match days it coffee, toast and gatoraide in the morning, followed by some thing greasy, filling and hot after.
  20. Matt, welcome to the forums. I got a question for you. I've been shooting one of your caspian raceguns for a couple of years, and the gun runs flawlessly, even with a broken accu-rail, which fell out the last time I cleaned it. . I'm just wondering who did the accu-rails for you, I want to order a replacement set. Thanks (Edited by rishii at 3:51 am on Feb. 25, 2003)
  21. I started shooting before there was a open or limited class. back then everyone in your classification shot strait up against each other, you would have a guy shooting a stock sig 226 (that would be me) going up against the guys with the full house comp guns (when was the last time you guys heard that term) from wilson, boland, zaparolli, hueing, etc. sometime in the early 90's USPSA started to feel sorry for the poor demented souls like me who refused to give a gunsmith a gun and $1000.00 for a compgun, and created the stock gun class. back then stock guns meant just that, besides a trigger job, sights and accurizing, most other modifications were not allowed. IPSC shooter being the creative people that we are, started to stretch and questioning the rules and the end result was limited class. and as you know the only limits in limited class are a minimum of 500 guns produced and no comps, porting or scopes. in 1992 hawaii passed a law banning highcap mags, with the law being effective in 1994. this ban only affected the 70 or so hawaiian ipsc shooter, and generally no one else cared. in 1994 the crime bill banned future production of high caps mags. but due to the tons;) of prebans mags that had been produced, there was a ready supply of mags for new shooters. between 1994 and 2000, several other states banned high cap mags. the supply of prebans started to dry up, and bill wilson started idpa. all of these lead to uspsa creating L10, production and revolver classes to draw new shooter to ipsc, and to allow the shooters in hawaii, calif, nj to compete with 10 round mags. I only wish that uspsa would only have 1 classfication for limited and L10, instead of seperate ones.
  22. it been a while since I've seen a mk III. to answer your questions. yes there's a manuel, and you should get one. the sky screens for the MK III and MK IV are the same and you can get them from pact or from brianenos.com the button on the MK III consist of a number pad, a menu button, a set button, a yes and no button and the start button. you can ether play with them and try to figure it all out, or get the manuel are read the instructions.
  23. 10 rounders mean a even playing field. it doesn't matter what frame you use, it only holds 10 rounds, if you have a 13 rounds speed shoot, everyone has to re-load. btw another advantage of hawaii, if it ever gets too hot at the range, we go across the street to THE BEACH, try doing that in AZ. and don't even mention So. Cal, water too damn cold, and the sharks are too damn big.
  24. yea, but this peoples republic averages in the low 80's in the winter with no threat of tornados or snow.
