Seeing the laser move with recoil is a good thing. Forces me to hold the gun tightly and control the recoil like using a real handgun. You want to minimize laser movement and recoil to improve your shot to shot times just like with real pistol With my airsoft there's little recoil so I can be relaxed with my grip which is not realistic shooting.

I just got the Coolfire Laser Trainer for my SVI Infinity .40 pistol. It's the best dryfire device I've used. I have $1000 worth of Tokyo Marui airsofts (Infinity and Glock handguns.) The Coolfire is so much better because you're using your own gun. The felt recoil is much better than my airsoft handguns. jcollin160, are you using the EGW adapter? It costs $75, is it worth it over a Docter adapter which sells for $40 ?

Thanks DumboRat and TeamGE- I didn't realize that "co-witness" of the slide and scope was that beneficial. TeamGE- I wish I knew you were selling them because it's nice to support fellow practical shooters. I already ordered the Docter sight and adapter. I wonder if I should even bother with Arrendondo Pack- may be way too high with the adapter? Will have to consider machining the slide later if I like the Docter. TeamGE- you really like the Docter? I wonder why more top shooters aren't using it on their race guns. It seems like Docter type sights are more natural to use then the C-more according to what I've read. I've heard objections because the Docter sight is on a moving slide. But I read on JP' s site that you will not notice the sight move.

I am considering a DocterSight for my SVI Infinity .40. I've read alot about it on this board and the Docter seems to be the one go with vs. the Optima or JPoint. I spoke with someone at Arrendondo and they said the doctersight adapter is "crap" and will not hold well. But he said the Arrendondo installation is permanent and you can't put a Bomar back on it afterwards Well I want to use the Docter adapter because I'm going to put it on my limited SVI gun just to experience optical sights. And be able to remove it later for when I decide that open is something I really want to get into. Then I'll get a full open gun and perhaps use the Docter on that. So are these Docter adapters really "crap" and will not hold at all? I am interested in getting an AR for 3 Gun Limited. I would like to go with JP Enterprises because I purchased a tuned SVI .40 pistol from him and it works beautifully. And because JP was pleasant to deal with. Does anyone have the CTR models he sells? They look awesome, IMO. Especially with the laminated wood stock. I'm still trying to figure out if this CTR-02 for $2195 is worth it over the pic below for $1695: Of course I can't use the optics if shooting limited... I emailed Johnny Lim and got a reply the next day! He states he's building one now and can make it either a Phantera or Tigercat. I asked him what was the difference between the two and Johnny replied, " The difference between the two design is just the compensator, the phantera is and is a lighter gun (Tamer Comp)..shoots very flat but has a little sharp kick feeling..( JJ racaza shoot this gun Phantera)..I shoot this gun also because we both like a gun that is flat and lite and has a little kick....the Tigercat (Turbo Comp) is a little heavier, lot of people like this style because it shoots flat and soft..(athena Lee shoots this gun)..Now I built this both guns in Hybrid barrel...unless otherwise specified.. " I am torn between the Limcat or the IMM SVI. I am encouraged by some forum members saying that the IMM is the "best" they've ever shot. Limcat and IMM will be hybrids... No one in my area has either gun so unlikely I'll get a chance to shoot before purchase. I was concerned about Johnny Lim's followup service because I read he could be difficult to get a hold of. But his quick response was encouraging. Pat and Leo, the IMM is really in another class? How much were your guns? How long for build time? How come Team SVI is not shooting the IMM? Or do they?

I'm looking to get a top of the line open gun. I'm looking at the SV Open Masterpiece or a Limcat. Too beautiful guns, IMO. Anyone have either guns and have any opinions on them? Speedshooter.com has the SV open masterpiece for $3400 in stock Limcats $3495- has so many exotic details!!! :

Pistol Pete- there are two types of gas gun- blowback and NON blowback. The blowback ones does cycle the slide. The spring ones are really not as good, IMO- but they're much cheaper. I don't think the spring guns cycle the slide. I'd get the gas blowback for more accurate IPSC practicing. From what I've read the Desert Eagle model has the most powerful recoil. But it's not 1911 style gun.
