  1. Check out Fire 4 Effects machine shop in El Paso. They can mill your SP-01 for the larger RMR/SRO/Holosun footprint. They offer a pckage to mill your slide to work with the wider footprint. Nothing wrong with the smaller 507K (I have the 407K on a Sig 365XL as my carry gun) but the larger window of the SRO/507C is going to make shooting at speed easier.
  2. OP is trying to get to 23+1 capacity. CZ mags with extensions max out at 23.
  3. @Less, appreciate the response, esp since the .305”T sight seems to be named after you… Irons are moot point now, I sent my slide off to LTT last week to be milled for RDO. I’ve come to accept that me old eyes are not what they used to be.
  4. Personally I think the G model is the way to go, especially since it is spring loaded to return to DA mode after it decocks. I’m currently shooting Shadow 2’s in Prod/CO but got a LTT Elite to play with and satisfy the urge to own at least one Beretta (damn you John McLane and Martin Riggs…). In a DA/SA gun I see no need for a thumb safety, be it slide or frame mounted. I don’t think I’ve ever engaged the safety on my Shadow 2s in a match. The gun is either in DA mode with hammer down, or if it is hammer back in SA I am shooting.
  5. I shoot a CZ Shadow 2, but in the last year I became Beretta-curious, esp. the LTT Elite. So I got one that had LTT’s trigger job done to it. Been playing around with springs, dropped in the 12# mainspring and 11 lb recoil from LTT, and have a 10 lb recoil on order (130 PF ammo). I like the gat, a little bulkier than the S2 with Lok grips, but I can still get my paws around it. DA/SA is nice and I like the G-model decocker. Thinking it’ll be one of the guns I shoot Production and SSP with. Only annoyance is POI is low at 15 yds on out to 25. At first I thot it was me, but I shot it from a rest as well as in a match and it is consistently hitting low. I read that some people have experienced the same issue. Stock rear sight appears to be .290”T and some people recommend the .305”T that Wilson sells. Alternatively I guess I could install a lower front sight. Stock front sight seems to be .150”T and I believe Dawson sells a .140” and a .130” front sight for the Vertec slide. Thoughts?
  6. Yep, magnet is basically my 5th pouch. 4 DAA pouches on my side and magnet about 11 o’clock.
  7. I went with Fire4Effect in the summer of 2019 when they first came out with their mounting system for the RMR/SRO. I’ve since shot that gun over the last 2 seasons with no issues whatsoever, loss of zero or any concerns with the slide cuts. F4E did the lightening cuts bc back then the 45 oz rule was still in effect. In 2020 had my second Shadow 2 done up the same by F4E. I had them do the slide cuts even tho by then the weight limit was raised just so the two guns would be exactly the same. Again, no issues or concerns. While I recognize other custom shops have figured out their own ways to mill the narrow Shadow 2 slide to accommodate the wider screw hole pattern of the RMR/SRO/HS footprint, there’s a lot of meat holding the mounting screws the way F4E does it which gives me peace of mind.
  8. In March I added a magnet to my Prod belt for mag-on-table-start stages, plus my usual 4 mag pouches. At Locap I ended up using the magnet to hold my starter mag instead of carrying it in my pocket like I usually do. At a sectional this year, due to proliferation of 6 shot arrays on one of the long courses, I think I brought one more mag to the line for 5 on the belt and one in the gun. But 99% of the time I get by with 4 + 1 mags.
  9. I’ve been using the 135 gr coated RN bullets for quite a while now. No issues with feeding, plenty accurate.
  10. LOL, I doubt it (about Limited), but for sure we’ll continue to debate the merits/lack-of with Ltd minor… But think of it this way: We have Prod, SS, L10, and Revo as the four locap divisions. CO, Ltd, Open, and PCC as the four hicap divisions. Quite a few people regularly suggest that L10 should be combined into SS or Prod divisions because the differences in equipment is negligible these days, plus we have those pesky 10-rnd only states that need to be accommodated (rule 3.3.1 notwithstanding). If Prod were to get bumped to 15 rnds… we would then have a “betweener” division that is fairly distinct from the locap AND hicap divisions. But I agree, we won’t see a wholesale rush of noobs joining USPSA just so they can shoot 15 rnds before they do a standing reload (evil grin), but I suspect some _______ (fill in the blank division) shooters may tend to shoot Prod more just because it would be a different division than the classic 10-rnd Prod game.
  11. Been seeing an influx of new shooters this summer at my local club match. They are showing up with some sort of hi-cap 9mm pistol and 3-4 mags. Guess which division we recommend they start in….yep, Limited minor. If Prod was 15 rnds that would be an option. But at 10 rnds, they all seem to blow right by the “starter” division and go to Limited. I don’t really care one way or the other what they do to Prod. I only shoot it now and then (i.e. Lo-Cap Nats). It’s a fun division but to say its the “starter” division, my anecdotal experience at club matches with noobs is they ain’t starting in Prod.
  12. Unfortunately no. Reached out to CZC but nothing definitive. I’m back to stock parts and all is well.
  13. I ran into this problem with a CZC short DA disconnector. I tried ammo that I took special care to ensure primers were seated fully. My thinking matched the OPs in that the hammer was not going as far back as it should in DA mode, aka a short stroking of the hammer that was occurring about 1 in 100 rnds, or once per match or twice per big match. A quick second pull of the trigger and the round would lite off. I went back to the original disconnector until I could figure out what was causing the short-stroke. Curiously enough, the CZC short DA disco I installed in my first Shadow 2 functioned perfectly, and I can tell the hammer has a longer stroke in DA than the one with problems.
  14. Time for a new Screen Name then….
  15. I used a 16” barrel on my first PCC. Flirted ridiculously for a while playing the field with different loads, buffers, springs, etc. Finally settled on a load that was in the low 130’s PF that played well with the JP SCS buffer system. Then went in search of a comp that the shot timer had a decent chance of picking up the last shot without the RO having to crowd me. So when Taccom came out with their 5.5” bbl w/ shroud I gave that one a try. Perfecto. I no longer need to maintain a PCC-only load. Same load that chrono’s 130 PF from my pistols yields 135 PF from my PCC. No need for a comp, the Taccom bbl is loud enough. And dropping about 1 lb from the barrel was a nice bonus.
  16. There are 3 USPSA and 1 IDPA match per month in my local area that is within a 45 min drive. I shoot IDPA on the weekend there isn’t a USPSA match. But I usually shoot my EDC gun in IDPA.
  17. Thanks, that’s kind of what I suspected. Any idea what the fix is, different disco?
  18. I’ve got a P10C w/ Type 2 RMR going on 4 years and maybe 5-6K-ish rounds. No issues whatsoever, and I just replaced the battery with it being on fulltime at medium-medium/high intensity (I was kind of testing the battery life). I got the gun in ‘18 before the OR models were released, so mine was direct milled. This was my first optic handgun, so kind of an experiment which led me down the path to Carry Optics and currently shoot a couple Shadow 2’s with SROs. Love these red dots, and they’ve held up really well with nary a flicker or hiccup. The bigger window on the SRO is nice, but I don’t feel the RMR’s smaller window handicaps me that much. My P10 is more of a carry/HD gun but I have shot IDPA with it (I won’t judge if you don’t) as well as 3 gun with it. I like the 5 - 6.5 MOA size dot for pistols. The smaller MOAs seem to work better on carbines.
  19. FWIW, Armory Craft is supposedly coming out with a DA/SA trigger sometime this summer. It’s reported to be less curved than the 85C. I put the CZC flat DA/SA trigger w/ short reset DA disco on one of my Shadow 2s when they were first released. I liked it so much I put the same in my second S2. However, for whatever reason I don’t think the hammer is going as far back as stock (or in my other Shadow 2), resulting in the occasional light strike (1 in about 100). So I’m back to stock trigger and disco in that S2 until I figure out what’s up.
  20. DA pull for the first “shot” then don’t let the trigger reset and simulate firing subsequent “shots”. Saying “pew pew pew…” out loud or in your head is optional.
  21. Airports: you have your choice of Atlanta or Birmingham. Personably I would do BHM. CMP has a rule that no shots fired before 0900. So it’s a pretty civilized start to your morning. Oxford is about 25 minutes to the east, and has all the amenities (hotel, restaurants, stores, etc). and the ubiquitous Waffel House on every other corner. I believe you can rent a golf cart at the CMP club house. Parking is a little tight. For the lower bays you park and walk over a bridge. For the bays up above they’ll probably let you drive across the bridge and park up top. As far as weather, plan for it all. Rain, sun, warm, cold, dry, humid. My guess is you’ll see it all.
  22. For the P10C, I use the Shield Arms +5 mag extensions with the factory magazines. Same spring and follower. Yields 20 rnds. Have run those mags in 1 dozen or so USPSA or 3 gun matches. The Shield Arms extension is about .250” shy of the 140mm mag gauge. Also have a P-09 mag with Springer Precision 140mm base pad. I did get the Grams follower and spring to load 23 rnds, but could never get the Grams follower to work reliably and reverted to factory follower for 22 rnds. For the Shadow 2, TTI w/ Grams spring and follower on the 17 rnd Mecgar mag for 23 rnds. Those have worked flawlessly for the last 2 years.
  23. You should be good to go with just the 11.5 spring. However as noted above, some primers are harder than others and the 11.5 lb spring may not generate enough force to light them off. If that is the case, an extended firing pin and reduced weight FP spring helps with that, or just go with the 13 lb hammer spring which will result in a lighter DA pull than stock, but not as light as you would get from the 11.5.
  24. My club hosts a couple outlaw matches every year specifically intended for CCW guns/gear. All it takes is somebody willing to organize it. It’s kind of a hybrid between USPSA and IDPA, with even a little bit of 3-gun rules thrown in.
