  1. I have used the ghost and guga ribas in the past. Then saw an SL3 holster at a match hannu was wearing. Awesome holster, rock solid. Problem is I don't think you can buy them anywhere in the country. I had Hannu pick me one up when he went to Finland. Best holster I have ever used.
  2. I have a c more on my 38sc open guns, a cmore on my 22 rimfire pistol, and a cmore on my 22 rifle. I love em without a doubt. That being said, Paul stated he shoots with a micro and he shoots it great so they must work pretty good. I understand the batteries are better in the micro so they don't burn out as quick, might be wrong on that though.
  3. I had steve moore switch my open 38sc over 9mm for steel matches. It takes about 2 minutes to switch it back to 38sc. The gun is an open infinity and I have never had a problem with it, going on second year with it. Harder to make major though if you are using it for IPSC. cocobolo is right though, nine brass is trashed after once fired in major. Nothing I would trust to keep reloading.
  4. Can't see your gun but about the best set up you can have for open steel 22 is with a tactical solutions barrel. It makes a big difference when you are transitioning from target to target. I shot with tim norris last year and got to try his 22 out. I had a mk III lower, stainless. Heavy. Switched it out for the 22/45 with a polymer lower. Its a running machine now. Good luck
  5. Thanks for your writeup, it really put to words a lot of what I was trying to figure out myself. Some really great info laid out for a lot of us. Really liked this " All you accomplish with this is to train yourself to accept any shot good or bad and when you get the inevitable fist size group you tell yourself that it’s “acceptable” for IPSC." This is so true.
  6. I have no problem with my ruger 22/45 in cold or warm weather. I use gun butter in the warmer weather and CLP only in cold weather. I use a really light coating of CLP as it will gum up the works with 22 if it is to thick. If it gets thick I have a speed strip in my ruger and i use an allen wrench, pop it out, spray it clean, light CLP, canned air to blow it out. If you don't have a speed strip for your ruger, get one. That is one of the best addons ever created for the ruger 22. worth every penny http://majesticarms.com/id10.html
  7. The movie kicks the hollywood liberal assholes in the teeth. They had already said the movie was poor. I went to it just to help the ratings go up but I did enjoy the movie. So did all the people that clapped at the end. Want to know more about the seals? Read "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell. I read it twice in a month and my wife loved it, and she doesn't read much military. God bless our brothers in arms. By the way, at the end they dedicate the movie to seals that have died. Danny Dietz is one of them, from Littleton, Co. If you get a chance go by and visit the memorial, very moving. Read the book http://www.littletongov.org/history/dietz/default.asp
  8. MY grandson started shooting steel when he was 6 years old, with a neos 22. Prior to that for a year I had him shoot a pellet gun with lead to learn safety and basics. When he was 7 he went from the neos to a ruger MK III 22/45 with a TS barrel and Cmore. The neos was easier for him to chamber but too heavy with the red dot. So we switched to the cmore and he does a great job shooting it now. Yep, know about lead. Thats why I loaded for him and Had him shower after every range session
  9. I had a buckmark for 5 months and sold it. Couldn't get it to run and switched to ruger 22/45. Polymer lower weighs nothing. Put a tac solutions barrel on that with volquartson trigger and extractor and it runs like a scalded ape. My 9 yearold grandson loves to shoot steel with it also. But it can be difficult for some to chamber a round into it. The entire weight of the gun with barrel and cmore is unbelievable. I like a light gun for faster target acquisition. I had the hunter mk III target model with stainless lower and it was to heavy, love that polymer lower.
  10. I am not sure I understand you exactly but I have a cmore mounted on my 22 pistol, 22 rifle, and two open guns, and have no screws into the barrel. I have never had any problems with them and used the removable locktite. By the way, I have used longer screws and Ace hardware carries them here and so does BiG R, don't know if you have one of those where you live
  11. The only problem I had with mine was I didnt reload the rounds at the proper OAL. I loaded them to short so the gun ran poorly, but as soon as I loaded them it ran perfect, no problems. That was my fault because I was told to load them out but didn't pay attention.
  12. I have used 115s with 7625 loaded way way down. Loaded them down to the point that the gun would not cycle. Then worked it back up to get the gun to run reliable. Awesome load, works great on steel. Have tried the 95s also, work great on the outer limits. Hits the back plates really fast.
  13. I had my module go out on my steel gun last summer at the state steel challenge. I asked everyone on my squad if they knew why my module was blinking. One guy told me itwas my module burning out. Put a knew module in and shot the next stage, point of aim was off horribly. I didn't know or think about the point of aim being off by changing the module out. rezeroed and good to go.
  14. Powder River Precision is awesome. My local gunsmith installed a prp in my grandsons gun and it is as smooth as butter. I was really surprised at how much of a difference it made. I was so impressed with it that I had one installed in my xdm that I have shot 50 rounds through. The trigger is smooth and took a lot of the sloppiness out of the gun. Very impressed.
  15. A friend of mine shoots an Akai, has had it for about 6 months, and loves it. He said it shoots awesome and was more then happy with the customer service. Good luck
  16. I have loaded and danced around 1.23 to 1.25, chronoed extensively and found that 1.23 works perfect and don't have to worry about meeting major. No feeding problems either
  17. had to have my mag catch replaced a couple of years ago because I always maxed out my mags, my gunsmith said "stop it" and since then I have not had any problems. I always load down
  18. harbor freight has ultrasonice cleaners cheaper then anywhere else I have seen. Looks like the same one i see in the gun mags, only cheaper and works great.
  19. checked brazos recommendation, did it, and solved the problem. thanks again everyone
  20. Find a grandmaster and train with him. Your skill level will grow exponetialy and you will learn more then you thought possible
  21. Warmers over the chest area, even if you have to duct tape it to the chest area. The military has been experimenting with this for a while. Keep the heart area warm and you can increase your body heat by between 30-40%. This works.
  22. my grandson had the same problem when he started out. He could not grasp both eyes open. I had him shoot my cmore red dot open gun, dry fire about 50 times. Then I had him shoot the open with ammo. Fixed him right up quickly.
  23. donnyglock, you are right, the last round doesn't move and it activates the slide stop. untuned, sti mag, about 1.25 OAL, 38 SC, bolen base pad. The last round stayes put, no movement. thanks
  24. I have a 140mm 38 super comp mag. Has new grams spring and follower. The last round will not chamber, runs great other then that. Any ideas why? Thanks for your respnse.
