  1. Black rear with green FO up front. Easier for me to track the front sight since there's less distraction with the back.
  2. I think the extreme version is more solid. Instead of having a few screws holding the tube in place, there's a bunch of lugs (roughly half of the tube) on the extreme that grabs onto the barrel nut. Mine was also a pretty snug fit to get it on there and rotated to get it properly oriented. I don't see it slipping off or shearing off for my uses anytime soon. The 2 clamp bolts just keep it from rotating, preventing it from Just imagine the barrel nut as the barrel extension and the handguard as the bolt. The handguards lock into place just as the bolt gets locked in the extension.
  3. Clark carbon is 6,7 and the Vtac rifle lenth (JP) is 19,75 ounce both are including the barrel nut I like this new VTAC but how is it attached to the barrel nut ? Does it clamp with thos 2 bottom screws ? It uses a proprietary barrel nut that is included. Just install bbl nut like normal. Than slip on the handguard with it 1 tooth offset to the left. When you have it all the way down turn it to the right to align it (it has a anti rotation pin to stop it) than tighten the 2 clamp bolts on the bottom. It's only $5 than the original 12'' VTAC straight from VT. The extreme version has a list weight of 12.6 oz with bbl nut. Looks sexy too
  4. SJC Titan for me. The Surefire MB556k worked almost as good as the Titan for me. Plus I drive a Titan, so win win.
  5. Another BCM GF mod 4 user here. They've got a great line of CH sizes to fit your needs.
  6. Like others have said. It depends on your eyes. I personally can't use a 1.5X The 1x on the Meopta is pretty close to using a red dot.
  7. I've only used Moyea flv downloader, works for my needs. Moyea
  8. From my uncalibrated shoulder softest - hardest 1. 11-87 2. SX3 (What I'm currently using) 3-4. Mossberg SPX and Stoeger 2000 (It's been awhile so I don't really remember which had more kick)
  9. The Meopta has a built in sunshade that is 3'' long, which is why the scope is so long to begin with. I'm gonna take a shot that the electronics are going bad. My first Meopta k-dot would intermittently shut off and/or go dim when I was shooting. I contacted Meopta and they told me to send it it. They were unable to replicate the problem but they replaced it with a different one (had a different serial #) no questions asked. I am very satisfied with the replacement scope and their customer service. Your friend should have no issues. Good Luck.
  10. My 32'' belt doesn't have much real esate, lol
  11. I had the exact same problem and exact same outcome. They would have replaced the scope whether or not if they could duplicate the problem.
  12. My brand new k-dot HAD a similar issue. The illumination would intermittently shut off randomly. I contacted Meopta U.S.A. and Michael Venaski, Account Executive responded back to me in a very timely matter. He called and left me a voicemail so that I could describe my problem to him. I gave him the info he needed and he quickly emailed me the RMA. I had to pay for the shipping back but it was like $15 or something for priority. They were unable to get my scope to shutoff randomly but Mike still sent me a brand new scope regardless of that fact (serial numbers were different). Here's the number and email I used to get a hold of Mike (which was last week) Tel: 631-436-5900 ext. 336 michael.venaski@meopta.com Don't hesitant, I'm sure they'll make it right.
  13. I just picked one up for $100 and am very pleased with it to replace my flatland forged F2. It shoots a little flatter than the PWS FSC556 and I don't notice any abnormal amounts of blast/overpressure while shooting nor a big ole fireball at night when looking through the Meopta k-dot. Any one want to pick up a LNIB Black F2 Comp with brand new peel washer? The comp just doesn't work for me, which is a shame since there are so many praises about them here.
  14. Check out the Weaver classic extreme 1.5-4.5x24. A short little review compared to a Millet DMS-1 that I HAD Lens is much clearer and brighter than my Millet DMS-1 and without the fishbowl effect...!!! This alone makes it a steal at the sale price. The exit pupil seems to be larger than the DMS-1. The sweet spot had more room on 4.5X. Very well worth the extra money over the DMS-1 (still not a bad scope for the money). The Weaver is made in Japan vs China for the DMS-1. The adjustment turrets have well defined clicks and audible vs the DMS-1 which did not have defined clicks. The 1/4 MOA of the Weaver allows more precision than DMS-1's 1/2 MOA. My red dot on max setting was actually 95% visible in the sunlight, only getting washed out against very bright white backgrounds. The DMS-1's reticle would be washed instantly in the sun. The eye bell is much shorter, allowing me to position the scope in the right spot for me to get proper eye relief. The DMS-1 mounted all the way forward was still to close for me to get proper eye relief. The power ring on the Weaver has a shorter and lighter from 1.5x to 4.5x (about 180º), much faster to changer power . My DMS-1's power ring has a long and stiff adjustment (about 270º). Couple of quick pics. 1.5X 4.5X Millet
