  1. I got tired of carrying tons of stuff that never got used, so I minimized a few years ago. Got the Blackhawk Sportster Deluxe bag back when it had MOLLE straps on front. I like it cause the handle straps go all the way under the bag so it's not stitching that holds the weight of the bag, but the straps and it holds a pistol and more than enough ammo for a match, spare parts, tools and other incidentals. Bigger stuff I have clipped to the cart it rides on (got tired of carrying bags at all a few years ago as well) including PCC, mags during the match (in the Husky mini-bucket hanging from the cart handle) umbrella, collapsible stool (though the cooler doubles as a place to sit), ear pro, eye pro, knee pads, etc. Handle rotates 180 degrees for storage/transport and umbrella and PCC scabbard are quick detachable. Here's the bag: https://www.amazon.com/Blackhawk-Sportster-Deluxe-Range-Hunting/dp/B0026658U8/ref=pd_lpo_200_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=4A4DK18G4X6CV1J8VM4A And here's the cart currently set up for PCC:
  2. I have a 550B set up with a case feeder and Mr. Bullet Feeder. As well as all of the Walnut primer bar bearing and a bunch of other add-ons from Unique Tek. At some point, I really should break down and buy a 650 but every time I think about that, I get distracted. Besides, I like the simplicity of the 550, and I've had it for almost ten years and can diagnose anything on it at this point. If I get a 650, I'm starting over, asking tons of questions and getting frustrated. Ain't nobody got time for that. I have to use a seat/crimp die, but that's never been an issue, so there's that. Works well, and indexing keeps my left arm from falling asleep.
  3. Ready Tactical from CPWSA are also good choices for those lacking belt real estate (who knew being fat would have an advantage).
  4. I know nothing of these other than they're available on Amazon at a decent price. https://www.amazon.com/eAMP-Patriot-1911-Pouch-MagP0033-F/dp/B01JPW4QYE/ref=pd_sbs_200_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01JPW4QYE&pd_rd_r=XMYQX772VTXTVQJG9CJX&pd_rd_w=adOjj&pd_rd_wg=ms7TV&psc=1&refRID=XMYQX772VTXTVQJG9CJX
  5. Checked the gas key on the bolt in my ATI carbine and it was loose. Took about 1/8th of a turn. It was staked, and I re-staked it after tightening the replacement bolts which were also secured with red Lock titer. Overkill? Maybe, but that'should how I roll. We'll see...
  6. You don't need the pin but it will serve to keep the barrel nut from coming loose. I had that happen, not a huge deal but something to ponder.
  7. Update: I squeezed the top of the AR Stoner mags in a vise to make them fit. Then filed the lips parallel. They now seem to work ok. One does not reliably activate the bolt catch, but the feed and cycle well. Midway USA offered to refund my money but since they work, I figure I'll keep thwm. Both uppers still work well. Either is a good choice, depending on how important LRBHO and magazine choice is to you.
  8. Depending on optic, the 10/22 bag works. I have to collapse the buttstock about two positions, and it's a tight but not too tight fit with a Bushnell TRS25 dot on a 1" riser. I messed around with a rack that uses an old magazine to hold the gun on the rack, but decided I liked the scabbard plan better. Made a mount for my cart that allows quick removal and reattachment of the scabbard to the cart so I go up to the line with gun in scabbard and put gun back in scabbard before leaving shooting area.
  9. If you want to broaden your search, look into Ready Tactical. Small footprint and no screws to work loose. Good price as well.
  10. You wouldn't know the size and length off the top of your head, would you?
  11. Couldn't tell if it was way new tech, or way old tech.
  12. Am I missing something? Why are gas keys shearing when there's no gas acting against them? Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but the only time the gas key (why is it called that on these non-gas operated things?) is in any way being worked is when initially chambering a round or clearing a jam, right? Is this when they're failing? Inertia from riding the BCG back and forth? If this is true (and it may very well not be), it would seem manufacturers are using junk bolts to fasten them to the BCG? Replacing the bolts with higher-grade units; would seem like a logical solution. Has anyone had replacement bolts of known higher grade failing? Thanks for the info.
  13. If I didn't already have two side charging uppers (Matrix on a Colt mag lower and NFA on a Glock mag lower, both working fine BTW), I'd probably be ordering one myself. As it is, I'm giving serious thought to putting one on my .223 AR.
  14. Another option for bolt-on side charging handles, this one seems beefy and well made. http://www.devildogconcepts.com/hard-charger.html
  15. The Dawson pads are going to work best with that magwell. They have the extended section in the rear that sticks out far enough to reliably seat the magazine and still fit in the USPSA box. Others are about flush with the base of the magwell, causing seating issues for some.
  16. One Colt mag unit with RRA magwell insert, Matrix Arms side charging upper the other an ATI (NFA made I believe) with NFA side charging upper. Nothing special, but they both work well, so there's that. The Colt magazine upper uses a Wilson Arms barrel, only complaint I have about that is the roll marks at 12:00, and at the muzzle end of the barrel. Had to buy a 15" handguard to cover them up. Colt uses STS sight, ATI uses Bushnell TRS25. I have no preference, though the STS dot does seem brighter. Don't you just love those California Special grip sleeves...
  17. And because you (apparently, you'll confirm with test-firing) fixed the issue, you now have a bunch of magazines that will work in all of your guns. Which is always nice. Nothing worse than having a gun that is finicky, except maybe a gun that doesn't work at all. Or a gun that breaks when you need it most. Or a gun that blows up in your face. Ok, so there are plenty of things in life worse than a finicky gun, buy you get my point.
  18. Now run some dummy rounds through it and make sure it still feeds reliably because you've probably lowered the mag in the gun with the different mag catch. 9mm shouldn't have any problems with a slightly lower mag catch, but you never know...
  19. I like that BHO, looks a lot more beefy than the NFA, and is part of the lower like it should be. How well does it work?
  20. Make sure the offending mags aren't hitting the ejector.
  21. Mine happened with the trigger ATI put in the gun. Looked mil-spec.
  22. My short (1.14) do it as well. On single stack and Caspian High Cap. Both .40. Only notice it with other than jacketed bullets, no mark on jacketed bullets, combined with the fact that there's no setback leads me to believe they're not hitting hard enough to do any damage. And I don't believe it's happening when the round is chambering. That round sits too high to hit the bottom of the feed ramp. It may be the second round down, during recoil, or being dragged forward while the round above it is chambering. In any event, I've never been able to make it not do this, other than using FMJ bullets, but it's never caused an issue, so I moved on.
