  1. I have a STI Executive with about 3500 rounds through it. I like SVI triggers. I purchased a SVI trigger, insert, disco, sear spring and an EGW sear. I asked a local 1911 gunsmith to install the parts and do a trigger job. He had not done 2011s before. He finished the job but did not charge me (he wasn't satisfied with how it came out). Got the gun back and there was allot of pre-travel (it almost felt like a two stage trigger) and the trigger 3-4 lbs. I decided to work on it myself (possibly a bad choice). I disassembled the pistol, then I bent the tab in the trigger bow out slightly (to take up some travel). I also used slight pressure to pull/bend the middle prong of the sear spring slightly (to lighten the trigger a little). The trigger has much less pull mabye 2 1/2 lbs now and much less pretravel. The problem is now there is no half cock in the trigger (no clicks as the trigger is pulled back) and if you pull the slide back the trigger will stay cocked but if I pull it back by hand it doesn't want to stay back unless I pull it back really hard. Thanks for any help!
  2. I just replaced my CR speed pouches with DAA racer mag holders. The DAA racer mag holders seem more secure than the CR Speed pouches I have a CR Speed belt with a blade tech DOA holster. ymmv
  3. Welcome to the forum! You will lots of good stuff here! Happy Holidays!
  4. I have no experience with CZs and little with M&Ps. I think its hard to go wrong with either a Glock 34/35 or an XDM 5.25. There are lots of aftermarket parts for the Glocks including sights, magwells, triggers etc. I'm sure they make just as much stuff for CZs and M&Ps I just don't have any experience with them! I had a Glock 35 that was very, very accurate and easy to point and shoot. Production never really worked for me I'm more of a limited shooter. I like the stuff you can add to a limited gun and the extra rounds in the mag!
  5. Sweet! Nice job! I'm having an SVI trigger (along with svi internals) put in one of my guns right now.
  6. If you file the the tab of the followers the gun will not lock back and you will not have have to permanently change the gun. When the slide locks back in the middle of a stage you have take extra time to load a new mag and then release the slide. In the middle of a stage you want to load a mag with a round already in the chamber - faster since you don't have pull the slide back and release it.
  7. I've had this problem only with extended mag catches cause I bump them. The standard mag catch works fine for me. I hate dropping mags before there empty.
  8. Here's one at Kygunco for $788 with free shipping! http://www.kygunco.com/springfield-1911-range-officer-9mm-pistol-5in-9-round-parkerized-cocobolo-wood-71503
  9. Great Author! I read all of the early ones. One of my favorites was "Without Remorse". Will miss him!
  10. Dillon 600 super swager is your friend! Sometimes even after brass is swaged primers still get stuck.
  11. I'm not going back to plastic guns! I love me Edge. I shot my G35 like a laser, but I'm pretty much there with my Edge. It takes a while to get used to when switching! I really like the decreased recoil with the heavier gun. I think the full dust cover helps too!
  12. I have grams followers in my mags. I just filed the slide lock tab until they wouldn't lock back. They work great and my gun doesn't lock back. Now I just have to plan my mag changes so I don't go empty!
  13. I had the GS desensitized on my Edge so it would engage easier. It works great now.
  14. I would have a trigger job done on it for starters. Maybe a few other changes like stippling and undercutting. Maybe something with the grip safety too. I had a stock Edge that I sent to Bobby at Freedom Gunworks. He did a number on it! The trigger is awesome! He did some other great stuff as well. Love it!
  15. I shot a match without having my gun sighted in, bad, very bad! Its sighted now!
  16. +1 for Bobby at Freedom Gun works! I sent my stock edge to him. The results were amazing!
  17. The Pro Custom 45 is at Buds for $1224. Looks like a great gun. I will seriously look at the .40 version
  18. Done it a number of times with no problem!
  19. There's a sweet deal on Gunbroker! STI Edge, with mags and has a trigger job! Link: http://www.gunbroker...?Item=336144462 Right now it just over $1500 with 4 tuned mags! This is not my gun or auction I just think it's a sweet deal!
  20. I got a stock Edge that only had a hundred rounds fired. It ran great but needed trigger work. So I sent it to Bobby at Freedom Gunworks. He did an awesome job! I got his ultimate trigger job, slide lightening, carakote finish, SVI trigger and grip stippling and undercut. Love it shoots like a dream!. Highly recommended!
  21. I use a flgr with a 14# wolf recoil spring with I80 gr fps. Going to try a 12.5 ismi spring. Anybody use a shock buff with the 12.5# recoil springs?
  22. +1 on the trigger Job! I believe the super tuned has a trigger job. Bobby at Freedom Gun works does his ultimate trigger job for $150 including parts and labor.
  23. I have ordered recently form Oregon trail bullet company (cast) and Missouri Bullet company which has a 5-6 week wait. You may want to watch the classifieds here. I bought 2000 recently from the classifieds. Good luck finding bullets!
