Yep! We have a double plate rack (24 plates) at the range. Wow great fun shooting that thing and it almost doesn't matter what caliber. Although sometimes the .22s don't take them down. That's OK just hit em again. Sometimes the .45s hit em and they come back up again!

Congrats on the Tangfolio! I would like to try one of those! I love getting good deals on guns! I once traded a Glock 37 (45 gap) I bought for around $350 new (gen 3)for an older Kimber Tactical Cust II. That Kimber was perfect as far as function (nice trigger too). I later parted with it for $850 cash. Good deals are great!

Yep same here! I change my own. I'm able to use synthetic for the cost of an oil change at one of those places.

I hate the weather we have been having. I'm in the Midwest. We have had a heat wave that is just beginning to break. Up until this week the temps have been high 90s and low 100s every day. I hadn't been to the range in a long time so about 2 weeks ago I went just so I could fire a few rounds. It was soo hot I lasted about an hour and left. Our last local USPSA match the temp soared above 100 possibly 105. I just can't shoot in weather that hot. Now that it is cooling down 97 today but 70s later in the week I'm planning a trip to the range. Hot weather (with humidity) who needs it!

I hope you have a quick recovery! I fell on some rocks this week end and sprained my rist so I won't be shooting for a while.

The property where I hunt has big spider webs. While I'm not afraid of spiders they do give me the creeps. I hate running into those webs in the woods!

Our USPSA club did range clean up recently. It was very hot, over 100 degrees! I lasted about 2 hours. We had a small crew everyone else had something going.

I have never seen a live round go bang when being ejected. I didn't even know it was a possibility. This is good info!

I would say around $600 maybe less. It does not have a beveled magwell or front strap checkering. Its 10 years old. Should be a solid gun though.

I have had good luck with Dawson as well. I will be using his on my next pistol.

Not sure how popular they are but they do make 2011s in 45 and 9mm. 38 super and 9mm is popular in open guns. I've thought about getting a 2011 in 45 because using lead bullets it almost as cheap to load a .45 as a .40. Just my .02

I used a little orange finger nail polish on my CZ82. I could be a little brighter though. I like FO front sights the best. I put a set on my Glock 35. An STI that I owned already had one installed. For my eyes the FO sights help me to pick up targets faster.

I'm shooting a Ruger MkIII hunter. Its a great gun! I put in a VQ trigger and sear along with a Clark bushing to get rid of the mag safety. The trigger is a very smooth 2lbs. The mags fly out of the gun. Its very reliable with Federal bulk. I put a trs-25 red dot on it. Its a blast to shoot.

I think I'm going to try some lead bullets in my limited gun. I live close to Missouri bullet so l will check and see what they have in 40. I have been using plated bullets and they seem to work pretty good. I may be able to save a few bucks by trying lead. Before I try them I think I going to have to get a lee crimp die in 40. I use a lee press.

Personally I wanted something mobile so I bought a 16". I got a really good deal on a Bushmaster LR308 that I couldn't pass up. I runs great. I got it mostly for hunting and the range. I have owned a couple of Armalite AR10s and the Bushmaster compares with them pretty well. It may not be Gap 10 or JP precision but it works for me.

I'm using: 180 grain Xtreme Plated bullets (RNFP) 4.4-4.5 Gr Tight Group 1.125 OAL This length is working good in my STI

I like the stainless hard chrome look but not sure if I would put the money into getting it ( I have a blued STI) chromed.

I have a STI 2011, I have been putting my week hand thumb on the frame. My son who has been shooting competition allot long showed my this. He put a small square of grip tape just forward of the slide stop to rest his week hand thumb on. I have been practicing the same grip. Haven't shot using this grip yet.

I would show it to a few people that have more experience with 2011 limited type guns. I recently purchased a used STI 2011. I took it to my son who has several 2011s and he was able to help me out it. He was especially able to tell me what shape the gun was in. He also helped me with my mags as he had a bunch of spare parts.

Dawson Precision has STI Trojans for $1008.99. It would be a great choice for an all purpose 1911.
