  1. +1 Based on how I read that ruling, yes it is. It would seem that, since it does specify that this only applies to Production division then the other divisions should be exempt/not change. Where in the ruling is safety condition mentioned?, it just says in production manual half cock equals bump to open, he could be assuming the safety are being applied at half cock.
  2. Do we? Does the ruling mention safety position? Does it affect other divisions? I sent the question to DNROI the question for clarification, I am interested to see the answer
  3. I read it as more questioning if steel really is a problem for match flow and if eliminating it at a major match is something other shooters had seen.
  4. How did a ready condition rules question that in the rule book is not related to any division end up with a ruling specific to Production division that manages to avoid answering the original question.
  5. I guess it would depend on what type of steel they have access to. At L2 and up matches I would avoid plates due to the REF issues. I know some popper designs are more reliable than others and if the design you have is not super reliable at maintaining calibration then I could see avoiding it's use but I would prefer to look to get some that were reliable. I personally have been experimenting with stage designs using steel and paper in ways that still test the shooter but also optimize scoring and resetting time to keep the match flowing and it has worked very well, basically a stage with steel and paper can be set up to score and reset much quicker than a equivalent paper only stage.
  6. The rule book has not been updated but it passed the BOD last year and went into effect Jan 1 this year. It's only on BOD minutes as far as I know, I would search and post them but I'm on my phone
  7. The question I belive is not was there a clearly defined shooting area at the top of the stairs, the question is was there a clear demarcation making the stairs not within the larger shooting area? If the answer is yes the stairs were clearly outside the larger shooting area then we can talk penalties (there is more to discuss here but for now I'll leave it) if the answer is no the stairs were not outside the larger shooting area then they are inside it and avaliable to be used by the competitors without penalties. That's it, it can only be one of the two, So for the shooters that were there which is it?
  8. It sound to me allot like the stage was run and rulled as was "intended" by the stage designer, the problem with that is the rules do not support "intention" I have had many stages gamed and had shooters find huge holes in my written stage descriptions, it's part of the sport and not a shooters issue. As match officials we have to suck it up and rule on what is written and the stage as it is actually set up that's it, if you wanted them to do something and through some loose hole left open in the stage brief or a slight change to how the stage was actually set up and somebody figures out that they don't have to do it, then great for them.
  9. Already ahead of you, Mr. Bill, at least with the G17, dovetail mount, and spare Docter. Now, I just need to take my new welfare open gun for a spin at a match. Despite the optic, I think 10 rounds is probably still going to suck. [emoji317]Are you guys saying I need to have that division up and running this month? It sure would be nice if HQ had sent any information at all about it to the club contacts. They seem to be able to charge my credit card for activity fees and send me the the receipt for it so I'm pretty sure they know who I am, would have been nice to be told it's officially a go, you know I read it on the Internet isn't always the best way to gather official information.
  10. I would say unless the plate was designed to spin then it did not function properly, so REF and reshoot. All this wording does is allow for bad hits on plates to not automatically cause a reshoots (think shotgun plate not going down due to too few pellets hitting it, or lr rifle plate not indicating due to wimpy ammo, or handgun plate not falling due to super low hit or nick) as long as the plate functions as designed then no reshoots if as was described it spins or does some other strange thing it was not designed to do then reshoot.
  11. Did the shooter place 1st or 2nd C Limited at a major match with a match percentage in the 60s? If so you can get bumped to the next class without ever having a average in that range. I made B production with a high average of 58%. So that could answer one of the issues but the D to B issue still exists
  12. And all this time I was just using a blue tooth keyboard
  13. I MUCH prefer the way 40 major feels in a G20 than any of the small frame guns also the mags can more easily be made to hold 21rd reloadable oh and with that large of a opening who needs a mag well
  14. So by that logic we would have been more successful instead of splitting into open and limited years ago we had split into open and production? If it didn't fit production you could just shoot open right.
  15. How does making a restrictive rule set allow one to see what works and what doesn't? I belive it will show what works but only within the narrow window the rule allow not what will work best for the compact optic gun niche in general
  16. Remove the light? I would if it was a game gun but it is my actual carry gun, also if they use Production division as the basis for the rules then my holster is not legal either. if the rules come down just like Production I will start campaigning for SS optics shortly
  17. I'd be happier if I thought that the rules would allow my carry gun to be legal (G22 with RMR and CTC Railmaster) or its AIWB holster location. it seams kind of funny to me that they changed the name away from Production then go and make the rules like production.
  18. My carry gun a GLOCK 22 with a RMR will most likely not be legal due to the light it also has on its rail. So I'll have to shoot it in Open anyway
  19. as far a syncing goes there is no device to device system it has to be through a wifi router of some sort. if you have rage wide wifi you are set. we use a small pocket router to create a small hot spot and use it only when we are syncing. for anything other than an major match with paper backup (we don't use paper backups at club matches and have had zero requests for them) I don't see any reason to sync before the end of the match, if something happens to a nook I will just have to toss a stage. PS so far I have not had to toss any stages.
  20. I fully disagree. Why would it be cheating if you were shooting a 3 gun match and wanted a timer alert on long courses and used your watch? It isn't against the rules, so anyone has the option to do so if they so choose.I can go shoot open with my carry SR9c versus your Cheely 2011 and get whooped, but I can't then go and complain that you "cheated with your optics, comp and big stick." The option to use all of those things is available to me, I chose to not use it. My loss. Do what you want in 3 gun. Shooting a bug gun against an open gun in open has exactly what to do with any of this? In a fixed time course of fire in USPSA you get penalized for firing overtime shots. If you have a way of preventing you from doing that and other shooters don't that is not consistent with the rules as they apply to competitive equity. 8.6.1 No assistance of any kind can be given to a competitor during a course of fire Possibly 10.6 This is just how I see it. If the RM doesn't agree that's fine with me. If you arb it and win that's fine. This isn't about me vs you on a stage, it's about me looking out for all shooters in regards to fairness. I think you are stretching the rules to prevent something that is not in the rules from happening. if the shooter had someone assisting them that rule would apply, if they are assisting themselves it does not. there are many things that are not in regulated by the rule book and as such cannot be penalized.
  21. Because they are common on USPSA race guns and IDPA is against that.
  22. I belive Voigt ran a mag gun at the Nationals. Travis ran a Xrail for the win over Jerry with his rube fed. It all comes down to the shooter.
