  1. A friend from our club built a CCP gun on a Lone Wolf G19 frame which has a factory magwell available. To make it fit the box, he ended up grinding a huge amount from the sides. Almost looks like no magwell on the gun. Still works well because of the nice slope on the front and rear.
  2. It is round dumping, but legal, no more round dumping rule since the 2013 rulebook, that's why you couldn't find it, previously it could be ruled a ftdr from the 2005 rule book. As long as you engaged the 3 targets with the minimum rounds, you are fine adding extra shots. I would have put five rounds on the third target too.
  3. Factory Glock front sight is .165 tall. The standard trijicon is the same height. hth
  4. The striker springs will also interchange, I run a stock glock 5.5 striker spring in my MP45. Works reliably for me with CCI. Primer strikes are a little shallower than stock MP45 spring. I tried running a MP9 striker spring which is 5lb but wasn't 100% in the MP45.
  5. Thank you for generously sharing your data. I used your old one alot for reference. It saved me alot of time.
  6. snscasting has Hitek coated 140 gr bullets. hth. Here's the link: http://www.snscasting.com/40-s-w-140-grain-flat-point-coated-1000ct/
  7. it was recommended by cocobolo, I've been using a moly or coated 135 gr bullet over 4.0 grains WST with oal of 1.145, out of a g17 makes about 130 pf. nice load, accurate and soft. If you search WST and 135 bullets you'll find the recommendations. You might try a little longer 1.150 to 1.155 since you're running a 1911.

    21sf and gen 4

I have a 21SF and a friend has a 21 Gen 4. Even though objectively they have the same grip measurements, the Gen 4 feels smaller and handles faster. On the clock my reloads are faster with the Gen 4 and its not even my gun.
  9. Performance wise it doesn't matter between the two for idpa. I have both and run a 17. I transition a little faster and shoot better in a classifier with the 17 (idpa clasifier in the 90's). Had the 19 first, then 34, then 17. Actually shoot the 19 better in GSSF matches, but can reload and draw faster with the 17/34. That being said, since you don't have your own gun, get the 34. It will keep you from second guessing and instead just focus on building your skills. The more you can stop thinking about equipment the better.
  10. I haven't actually tried them, but from what I've read, the extracted case hangs up with the case head running into the shoulder of the next cartridge, and so extraction/ejection fail. Yup, that's what happens when I try. The first round will feed reliably and chamber but the extracted case hangs up and won't feed the next round.
  11. Not worth the risk, I have a friend who had the round go off trying to reseat the high primer of the loaded round. Thankfully, No permanent damage but the bullet hit him in the shoulder and caused a flesh wound, penetrated just under the skin.
  12. Same primers, the Russian manufacturer is Murom. http://www.mpzflame.ru/production/primers/
  13. Just posted after you, great info.
  14. Spray the insides with wd-40, never tried it, but over the years I've seen many articles about it inactivating primers. A google search should have the info we're looking for.
  15. Thanks for the data, great to know for when my jug of clays runs out.
  16. I remembered .356 on the box, rechecked on calipers .356.
  17. Worked up a load for gssf, 200gr bbi moly swc over 3.5 clays. Cycled well with good ejection in a g37 and was soft.
  18. Agree with everyone above. Love the gen 4 grip, I have medium size hands with short fingers, I can release the stock gen 4 17 mag release faster and without shifting my grip (no backstrap). On the gen 3, I have the extended mag release and I don't have to shift my grip either to release but the gen 4 positioning feels much more natural and faster. With the stock gen 4 17 mag release I don't feel I need the extended. With the stock gen 4, no worries about bumping the mag release with a table start. With the extended gen 3 I have to be careful with table starts. Slide release is equal with both since I release the slide with my weak hand thumb and stock release. I bump the extended release on both gen 3 and 4's.
  19. Not a direct answer, when I couldn't find reduced power MP45 springs, I read that you could use glock striker springs. I tried a Wolff 4lb glock striker spring in a 45, got occassional light strikes with CCI primers, running a stock 5.5 glock striker spring in the m&P45 now and runs 100% with CCI primers. Worth a try, I think the stock MP striker springs are lighter than the stock 5.5 glock spring.
  20. Yes to all 3. The caution would be: fitting in the box with the magwell/magazines and the extended mag release sticks out no more than .2" from the frame. 8.2.3.2. CDP Permitted Features and Modifications (Inclusive list): 8.2.3.2.1. Sights may be changed to another notch and post type. 8.2.3.2.2. 21. Should work if you use diamond files. A regular file won't work, the tennifer treatment under the teflon finish makes the slide harder than a regular file.

    glock 26

I carry a Gen 3 26 in a kydex AIWB,. I would recommend the Gen 3, the smoother grip is more comfortable against your waist AIWB, especially if your holster doesn't have a big leather shield, If you carry in something like a M TAC, no difference. The 26 gen 3 and gen 4 use the same dual recoil spring setup. Don't have a gen 4 26, but will occassionally carry a gen 4 17, AIWB, the extra texture is tolerable against the skin, bearable but you know its there.
  23. If you're having a great time mixing things up, no problem, nothing wrong with that. We have one longtime club member that changes every match and always has a great time and is great company, in terms of proficiency, he hasn't progressed Very few people can progress changing guns every match. His focus is the comraderie. If you are concerned about the competitive side, stick with one gun or one platform. Eliminate the gun variable, and focus on building proficiency in all parts of your game, accuracy, speed, transitions, reloads, footwork, stage planning/programming, mental game. The G21 sounds good, stick with that for awhile in cdp. The proficiency will transfer to your G36. I shoot a G17 for ssp/esp and carry a 26 and this coming year use a 21 for cdp too.
  24. Can't go wrong with these guys. I ran the Sevigny Warren for awhile and liked it alot, my current setup that I like even better is the regular Heinie .125 notch rear sight paired up with an Ameriglo or Dawson .090 wide/.215 high front sight, same light bar proportions as the Sevigny's but smaller. Running a G17, I like Sevignys better on a 34. The proportions there are .150 rear/.115 front.
