  1. watchout Devon Penrod will be there defending his NC title.
  2. We just got back from the Dr and my wife is preggers. 7 weeks and 4 days. Had the first ultra sound to make sure that all is good and all is good. Dr. wants to see her again in 3 weeks for another ultra sound and then they will release her to her regualr OB. We had been doing IUI, did it three times and it did not work, this one we did on our own... Now I just got to figure out if I will build an open or lim gun. Yeah haw.... Any one at Rowan this weekend watch out.
  3. I would try Powder Valley. They may have what you are looking for.
  4. In this case the shooter would have been given a re-shoot due to 5.7.7.2 because there was not a saftey problem found after the Range Officer gave the stop command due to suspected unsafe gun or Ammo. 5.7.7 In the event that a Range Officer terminates a course of fire due to a suspicion that a competitor has an unsafe handgun or unsafe ammunition (e.g. a “squib” load), the Range Officer will take whatever steps he deems necessary to return both the competitor and the range to a safe condition. The Range Officer will then inspect the handgun or ammunition and proceed as follows: 5.7.7.1 If the Range Officer finds evidence that confirms the suspected problem, the competitor will not be entitled to a reshoot, but will be ordered to rectify the problem. On the competitor’s score sheet, the time will be recorded up to the last shot fired, and the course of fire will be scored “as shot”, including all applicable misses and penalties. 5.7.7.2 If the Range Officer discovers that the suspected safety problem does not exist, the competitor will be required to reshoot the stage.
  5. Clerk who was carrying a compensated glock with JP site on rear site. I saw the gun on his belt and asked where he shot IPSC or USPSA. Clerk: I don't shoot that stuff. Me: Oh OK well I was just wondering got a pretty good looking open gun. Clerk: This here is a race gun. Me: I know that is why I thought you shot IPSC or USPSA. Clerk: I don't know even what you are talking about. Me: Oh well we run around a scenario and shoot paper, reactive and steel targets. Clerk: Man you can get killed running with a gun... Me: yeah well just the same as you putting that gun hot into a holster you just never know what could happen. Clerk: It ain't hot see just touch it... Me: Clerk: So is there anything I can show you. Me: Nah I am good do you have any one here that knows about guns?
  6. What is the cut off for applications to avoid a late fee? Is there a match hotel yet?
  7. If I am asked what I do for a hobby I usually say I shoot USPSA. If they ask what that is I say it is like shooting at the range except you have a person behind you with a timer, you are faced with any where from 5-12 different stages and within those stages you have 3-4 different scenarios to solve as quickly as possible. If still interested I show some footage of me on my camcorder if still interested I invite them to a match and will provide all the gear needed and even offer to pay for the first match. I have never had any one take me up on the offer. I usually follow up with this is the most fun that you can have with a great group of people. Come and watch or come and shoot but I must warn you that it is addicitive. Most of my older golf buddies don't understand why I do this. When I was playing golf 3-4 times a week I was a scrath to 1 handi cap and now I am a B class shooter. I tell them well I won have won all of your money now it is time for me to pay up some other people... Right Devon
  8. Local store had WWB 49.96 per 100 and could only buy 2 boxes at a time. He was proud of the price. Will not be going back there for any future purchases.
  9. My vote goes for stage 12, really like the challenge in the house and the RO's were great. A bunch of Enos members. I did have 3 mikes on the slider but had all my other hits.
  10. CY Soto 9rds or 10 rds for SS division.I am about to oder .Just want to make sure I 'll get them right. Thanks 9Rd for SS and 10 for L10.
  11. Stages are posted: http://www.ncsection.org/Sectional/Sectional.htm Looks to be a very fun and challenging match.
  12. First of all thanks to the Range staff, RO, CRO and others. Great work and to mother nature for not dumping the rain on us on Sunday. Over all very pleased with my performance shot on Squad 24 and saw some amazing runs by those on our squad. A revlover shooter getting 7 that's right 7 shots off on don't blink (Static paper - PP1 - reload - drop out and pop up) in 5.38 - cost me dinner but well worth the show. Saw a production gunner Burn down off with you hand in 11 seconds. that one was 6 paper and a star through a port with the support hand holding a rope to keep the port open. Other amazing shots and runs recorded but those really stand out. From last year I improved tremendously. I had three mikes on Men in Black and a NS on "Norma" but other than that I really had a good match point wise. Need to work on the mental aspect a lot more and stage break down. Learned a lot and put a lot of the skills together that I have been working on but still A LOT to work on. but next year I'll be gunning for a SS A class win. Overall 202 A's 6 B's 41 C's 7 D's 3 M's 1 - NS.
  13. I made one of my goals for this year. I am now a B class shooter in SS. 64.71% now on to A. Got to get better at my reloading and keeping it at eye level. Getting better every time I shoot, dry fire or practice. Is this a great sport or what...
  14. My Local WM has ammo until about 8:30 AM on M-W-F at least that is what the guy behind the counter told me. They are getting in 6-8 cases each of these days and it is ALL gone by 8:30 AM. He said they start putting it out at 7:00 AM and in an 1/2 hour it is gone. So I guess I will try and get there early tomorrow and see if I can't snag a box or two.
  15. I think there are a lot of people that wanted to beat Scott for that stage. Great stage and fun as all get out to shoot. I got to see the layout on Friday night and thought Ok not too bad, well that all went out the window when I heard the BEEP.
  16. The one thing that I can say for 100% certain is that before I sold my edge I bought the Dawson mag tuning kit. It tells you the demisnions for the feed lips and the tube deminsions. So I formed the mags to those deminsions installed the Bolens follower, spring and 4MM base pad, no salt shaking, could hold 20 reloadable and 21 in two of the mags. Only ran 20 though, was scared that they would puke right when I did not want them to. The other thing that I do/did to all mags is to polish the snot out of the inside and outside of the mags to a high shine. That has made the differnce on the reliability aspect of the mags. I could run 20 all day and not have any issues. If you spend some time with the DVD you can pick up some good tips but the first pass can be a little disappointing but listen and learn. He never states what needs to be done to get 21 22 rounds out of a 140MM 40 tube but to get the most reliable mags with what you have. He uses the standard STI tube, follower and spring. So take this for what it is worth. If any one knows jalepeno001 he bought the gun and two mags have not heard if he has had any issues so that has to be a good thing.
  17. If you think the movie is good you should read the book. It will really change the way you see the characters.
  18. Jeff did a great job on that one. Great looking blaster.
  19. That is very cool. I had heard they were doing something like that. Looks a heck of a lot better than mine with a Lutron dimmer hanging from it.
  20. Hey got a question for you. When you open the RF100 I am ineterested to know if they put a dimmer on the motor or something else to slow it down. Congrats you are going to love the new press. My wife got diamond earrings when I got mine. Only fair she said.
  21. If you have a set of hard plastic panels send them to Jim Hart at Get N Grip. He did mine and they are just grippy enough.
  22. Scott Check this out. I think this is what I want to set up at the next match in April. Any and all comments welcomed. Edited to add the stage. Rowan_April_11_2009.DOC
  23. OK I have to chime in here. I does bug the crap out of me to get the wrong commands at a local or big match. I took the RO class a year or so ago with George Jones and he would repeatedly stop us if we gave the wrong commands. I have the commands written out on a sticky attached to my PC at work and see them every day. If I get a new shooter while I am RO'ing I always tell them what commands they will get from me and their reaction to those commands. After seeing them around for a while I always hear I really like it when you RO me. I know exactly what is expected and when so and so gives the command I get confused. When some of the guys went to the Nationals lat year I tried to get them used to hearing just the commands no banter. They said that the RO's there were the same way nothing was said but the range commands. What really gets in my crawl is when an RO says something like slow down get your points, or something other than MR. It really does throw me out of my routine. I watch for the breath and hand coming off the gun and in the correct start position before Are you Ready. I think this is one of the simplest rules that is totally abused in this game and should be one of the easiest to follow. Thanks for letting me rant for a second.
