Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have been shooting and loading for a Glock 35 and been very satisfied with the performance. But, I decided to convert to an Open gun. I have read the forum and got all of the right parts. I am just waiting for a KKM barrel. In the mean time I thought I would ask the question. Should I notice any kind of significant drop in pressure using a Compensated gun vs a non compensated gun when I chronograph? I have never shot an open gun, and this gun maybe the start of a new division for me. I realize this is a basic question that I will find out as soon as I get the new barrel but I thought I would get some response from you guys, while I was waiting. thanks for your imput.
  2. Let me clarify things, I have shot A classifiers and at the matches I am averaging 58%. They say I am Classified A. That's ok, I won't dispute them I"m to old to be real competition for the youngsters but I am have a real ball just shooting this game. You guys should consider yourselves lucky that I wasn't 20 years younger. Just kidding. I love this forum.
  3. I thinking about playing around with an open gun. I shoot production and Limited and I am having a great time. Open would be something just to do different. I have a Glock 34, so before I get the KKM barrel with a compensator I was thinking about a ported barrel, I have not shot either. thanks
  4. OK! I have a problem. I have shot pistols for plinking only for the past 1-1/2 year. Buck Mark 22, was the gun I was using. A friend talked my wife into buying me a Glock 34 for Christmas this year, and he took me to my first USPSA shoot in late January. I live in Florida so we do not have the cold problem. I shot the match, it had 2 classifiers, then I shot another match the following week it had 2 classifiers, and that has been the way it has gone for the past 3 months, 9 USPSA shoots all together. I finally got my USPSA card and under Production it said Class A. I do practice at the range 4 nights a week and dry fire 2 nights. I got me some really good training tapes and took a few lessons. My question is when does the bubble burst? What would be the best way to handle it? Confused and Waiting!!!!!
  5. I have a glock 35 and a glock 34. I was thinking about buying a KKM drop in 9mm barrel for the glock 35. Are there any downsides to doing this. It would just be a easy backup for my Production Gun. Would this be legal in USPSA Production division. I also have a STI Eagle 6" 40 cal, for limited / L10 - I am using the 35 for my back up gun there. thanks.
  6. Thanks, ya, your right i don't think i want to shoot that glock with the 40mm barrel. i wrote this to early this morning, i was in hurry to load the truck up and get to the range which i haven't done yet.
  7. That is exactly what I was looking for. I kinda thought that was the problem but I new at this game just couldn't put my finger on it. I'm going over to the range this weekend, and get the formula right. Thanks..
  8. Just need opion. I just bought some 40mm lead bullets, can I use them safely in the Glock. thanks.
  9. I have a Glock 34 with fiber optic front sight and fiber optic rear sights. I have tried to zero in the gun but I am having trouble with the elevation adjustment. I can adjust left or right but I have maxed out the elevation adjustment. I still shoot 1" high at 10 yards, the group is very consistant, all the shots are touching each other. I would just like to be zeroed in at that distance and then when shooting I can control the elevation. I certainly can use opinions. thanks
  10. That's what I like about this forum. The willingness of other shooters to share their information. Thanks for all the help guys, I will use your information and as stated will work up the loads very carefully. Good shooting out there and be safe. If you guys ever get down to Frostproof Florida and see a Super Senior 6'-4 and 325 lbs. stop by and say hey, it's me.
  11. Does anyone shoot a Kimber in Single Stack Competition? I have had this gun a while and was wondering (since I am new to the USPSA competition arena) if this gun was good for this competition.
  12. I have been reading a lot about the different guns in this forum. I have a Kimber Gold Medal 45 acp. But, I have not found any information on using the Kimber. Have I been just missing something or doesn't anybody use them in competition? I currently use a Glock 34 in production but since I have the Kimber I was going to shoot Single Stack just for fun. Any information would be appreciated. thanks
  13. THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE. I PLANNED ON GOING TO THE RANGE THIS MORNING. I WILL LOAD SOME UP.
  14. I have looked all through this forum, and I have seen a lot of formulas. But I need a specific suggestion on how to load 115 fmj major. Gun: Glock 34 kkm barrel, jaeger compensator bullet: montana gold 115 fmj Primer: Remington sp primer, or federal match sp primer Powder: per suggestion I am new to the game and when I started I bought a case of these bullets, and would like to shoot them up. Thanks for the help guys,
