I am the opposite, I wish they would just phase out the LPP 45 brass totally and go all SPP so I stock one size primer

A std 16 works well with factory ammo

Very depressed, diss appointed with open gun
EkuJustice replied to Blujay291's topic in Open Pistols
If it is a sti slide I would check with them about a factory replacement as was mentioned earlier. In all honesty open and limited especially with 2011s are not a good division to shoot on a very tight budget. The guns either cost a good amount of money or have been well used and are looking at major repairs coming up if they are cheap. For what a good production or single stack gun costs your looking at a WELL worn limited gun or an open gun that's at the end if its life and probibay in need if a major overhaul. The glocks are a good open or limited gun on a budget as they are a lot cheaper and if something breaks the parts are cheaper and simply drop in. -
Mine are the regular flat bottom ones and fit up nicely to the ice

Depends on the sight picture you like. I run the adj Dawson as I can't shoot the very wide rear with a Ton of daylight sights well at all
-
You shouldn't need lower than an 11 pound to get it to work. Any lower and you risk it not going into battery
-
I agree if the RO can't explain what he saw then he should not DQ. I know I have given some shooters a "break" so to speak as I was pretty sure they did something but was not 100 percent sure. As an RO you need to be 100 percent sure of what happens before you DQ someone and pretty sure is not good enough

In all honesty once its stippled it is hard to tell what if anything was removed from the grip unless its extreme ie removing finger groves etc

How to find them find someone with old followers and offer to swap them out for now ones
-
The ejection port should be lowered for the open glocks with the mount you have on it. Also, you factory loads may just not have enough to get the longer slide back with a comp but I would address that after having the ejection port lowered

Put the factory trigger spring back in
-
Let the springs set in and you will probibally get it but its tight. The mags that work best are the older glock mags where they had the more squared off top of the mag and not the newer tapered ones. I can check but the ones I have had the best luck with were I believe the #5 followers with the older LEO marked mags. I could get those mags to 20 no filing required

It depends on the 90 degree mount and where the cut is made. On the factory guns, they have the "Swoop" in the back that limits where the slide racker can go to just behind the breech face. With it cut in that position, the XL and Cheely extended will both work with a standard 90 degree mount. With the Cheely setback mount however it does hit the cmore its self on what the lower corner where it thickens out for the battery compartment door. Looked at both the extended ones in shooters connection and neither would fit without hitting. If the cut were able to be farther back, it would not hit this part of the gun but on the factory guns it can not go farther back Mine fits on a standard round top slide, If there is an issue and it doesn't I know matt has done them for people where he simply drills the holes in his mounts where it will.

Have the cheely setback on mine as I have 3 popple holes in the gun. I tried a go guns and I couldn't get it positioned where i wanted it so I have a cr speed thumb rest. Where the slide racket would have to be cut on the gun it would not work with the mount on the left side of the gun as it would hit the sight it's self. I run a cheely short racket on the right hand side of the gun and have no issue with it as its rarely used. The thumb rest used the same holes as as the mount. On the cr speed the thumb rest has 2 holes so run 3 screws through mount only and 2 through both then thumb rest and mount.

MatchMaster T2 w/ light recoil master 9x19 advice & opinions
EkuJustice replied to mike g35's topic in Open Pistols
For mag springs go 13 coil for the 170 and 11 coil for the 140. The cheely mount used the same pattern as the one you have. He has the 90 degree mount as well as an offset vertical mount which is vertical but offset to the left some to avoid it hitting the mount. -
Intentionally running into the RO - why not DQ?
EkuJustice replied to beltjones's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
It is often the newer or in experienced to that likes to crowd the shooter that it happens to. In that case good luck trying to prove it was intentional if all they have to do is take a step back and bam there they are. If your alert and keep your space you severely limit the chance of it happening without looking pretty darn intentional ie go way out of the way to almost chase the ro. If the shooter is having a terrible run and has really tanked it is when you need to be more alert to it than if they burn it down. -

Ya spacers are loose. If its locking back with one round you need to modify the follower on the left side where it catches the slide stop. Most open shooters set the gun up where it dosent lock back at all The loose spacers isn't an issue at all. Some glue them in so they don't rattle I leave mine loose so I can clean the mag with nothing getting caught beside them -
Will a Glock OEM barrel handle 9mm major loads?
EkuJustice replied to Tuflehundon's topic in Open Pistols
Just shoot minor. Major would be very hard to make in a 4 inch barrel especially a ported one. The glock makes it even harder as your limited on oal if you could it would be soo violent it would hurt more than minor scoring -

When you order the springs for the mag I would suggest adding a solid guide rod and springs and try 9 pounds and 8 pound springs -
Moving stuff on your belt before a match
EkuJustice replied to chevyoneton's topic in Match Screw-ups
I usually run one pistol mag in the regular place and throw an extra mag in the back pocket. I use mags large enough to shoot the stage without reloading so the pocket one is an oh crap mag -

From what I have seen in the 45 a standard one works just fine. For 40 it helps but really isn't needed often. For 9mm the aftec is a big improvement

The comp is better than the ported barrel. The only way I would run without a comp is shooting 3 gun where you might want a std holster. In that case a 34 with ports in the barrel through the factory cutout and a slide ride dot might be a nice setup

In one instance I saw where the sporting goods employee was playing games. I came across a Walmart where they had a dozen boxes of 5.56 in the locked case. The "employee of the month" , i.e. the kid with the keys, could not be found. They paged him several times. One of the managers walked by and said he must be at lunch. I kept coming back every 10 minutes or so as I did the rest of my shopping. I'm headed down the aisle and ahead of me is a group of five youths. The one in the lead was our "employee of the month" and his friends nailed all the rounds. That happens quite a bit actually which is why around here all the ammo gets locked up and brought out by the manager in the morning at 7am. Here they check the cart with the manifest to make sure it is all there. The app works in that it shows when its at the store not necessarily on the shelf. Check it in the afternoon about 8pm as the trucks are gonna be in and it all in the system. When it shows in stock in the evening its going out the next morning. If you run out when you see it in stock its not gonna be out if its something like 22 that's popular as whatever they got out that morning won't be in stock in the afternoon.
