  1. Coming from a skeet background I will just stick with the bead on mine lol. I have tried shooting peoples guns with both the dot and a ghost ring and find the bead alot easier and faster
  2. From what I was told you register it in the configuration you are planning to build it in. When the form comes back then you are free to build it in that configuration. If you put another barrel length, different caliber upper it is ok as long as the gun can be put back in the original form on the paperwork
  3. Try the old style piston which is 2 seperate piece. The new one is 2 pieces but they snap together to form a one piece piston assembly. The old style are 2 seperate pieces and are not able to be snapped together. The old style works better on light loads than the new style. Also try polishing the chamber. Wrap steel wool around an old brush and 1 section of rod and chuck it in the drill. It will keep the chamber spotless.
  4. I will try to find who makes it but there is a sight out there that alot of the trap guys use that if you use your eye behind the sight you can see the bead. If the other one is used you can.
  5. Have shot it before on multi gun it definately speeds the process up alot. Definately requires a little different strategy to shoot thought. The big question is 40 or 9mm lol
  6. I have a similar setup. I use my glock 35 with the caspian upper for limited with the 40sw. When I shoot multi gun that has time plus scoring ie 2 on paper, or 1 A is all that is required to nutralize the target and it is pure time based then I run the 9mm barrel. Reason being there is no major/minor so I get less recoil and 23+1 in the gun. Great for those longer stages as it can save a reload as I just shoot 2 on paper for every one and not worry about the hits and just go for brown fast
  7. Are those allowed in limited or SS or are they considered a thumb rest
  8. I just go the carhartt caro shorts. Good price last forever and know they guy who sells them lol
  9. I say let them know you need to share a gun and they will help you figure out a way to make it happen at the range. Shooters are very helpful to new shooters especially at a local match. People go to them more for fun and causal competiton than anything else. Its not like your shooting in the nationals. Does some stuff that is not safety related slide that wouldn't at a major match ie guy shows up for his first match with his carry gun that happens to be a glock 19C, most of the time its told that the barrel can't be ported unless in open but you can shoot it this time in production. Or a holster is a leg drop holster and that is the only one they have with them, they still let them shoot but let them know that the leg drop holsters arn't allowed. Seen a new shooter having gun/ammo trouble whose gun hung after the first shot and totally locked up solid. Guess what he got to shoot it over. While the rules would have said mark it all as shot, at a small local shoot if they paid to shoot their stages let them shoot the stages. Its not like they are going to win the shoot anyway. While sharing might not be good at the nationals the small shoots will bend over backwards to help a new shooter get into the game. I know when I was shooting skeet big time we had a younger new shooter shoot on our squad at a VERY large shoot(2nd only to the world) that was about 300+ for the event. He had his gun take a dump on him pretty bad at the beginning of the shoot. Finished the round with my gun that was way too long for him. After the round we went to the practice filed, took a wrench to my precison fit stock and set it up where it would shoot like his gun, gave him some instruction etc. I shot the rest of the match with my backup gun and let him shoot mine for the rest of the match. Figured I would feel better helping a new shooter finish his first big match out right than shooting my regular gun for the match. I Ended up with a 399x400 and making the podium shooting my backup gun. And he got his hat shot to pieces for his first 25 and 50 straight.
  10. I have always used todd nelson ie the country gentleman on my guns. There are usually stock guys that travel to the larger skeet/trap shoots
  11. For my glock mags with the taylor freelance base pads I put a small number sticker on them to number them. They are the ones that are for mailboxes but the small ones that are a square not the vinal ones that are just the number these have a background too. Looks nice and stays on the mag real well
  12. I usually will have 3-4 of the 6 rounders, plus a side saddle, 2 on the forend and 9 in the gun. I go strippers first then use the sidesaddle as extras if need be and the 2 on the forend incase i need one in the tube quick. The only time i go straight for the side saddle is if I need to do a mixed slug/shot reload in the middle of the stage. I stack them in the order I need them and go front to back down the side saddle and dont miss lol. It might take a hair longer than off the belt but they are going to be in the correct order and I have the side saddle load down pretty well
  13. Does anyone know of someone who is able to make custom lenses with a perscription that dont go in a pair of glasses. My problem is I can shoot iron sight pistols, scoped rifles etc fine with no perscription. I shoot an eotech and it is fuzzy if I don't have the glasses. If I shoot the pistol with the glasses it is fuzzy. I was looking to find someone who could make a perscription lense that will fit up against the eotech inside the hood to allow that to focus when needed and allow the pistol to be seen with regular non perscription lenses.
  14. My favorite hi-point line was a guy was in the gun shop and had some pos raven, jennings etc that was broke and couldnt be fixed. His quote, "I wish I would have saved up and bought a hi-point". Still get a good laugh to this day. Also had a guy drive in to the shop in about a 75k bmw and then buy a hi-point to protect himself
  15. I would still go the extended base bads. Pretty soon you will want to give limited a try. It also feels a little easier/faster to load the longer mags in the gun than the short ones

    IDPA Box

Where can you purchase one of the idpa boxes. I have a gun I am working on and the mags bumper pads need to be trimmed to fit the box so I need to find a box to use for this
  17. Seen one SUddendeath lightened for a friend of mine and he did an amazing job, not a sharp edge anywhere on the cuts
  18. Looking forward to the matches, have to give us a little room for some gaming though lol
  19. +1 on the Jard trigger. It is nice to see another Jard fan out there
  20. Have had both and definately like the Jard over the JP. Alot better feeling trigger. I have a JP still in one gun and am about to take it out and put a Jard in it and dedicate the JP to the SBR. THe big difference between them for the cost difference, One says JP on it the other dosent.
  21. If it matches the profile of the gun then its legal. The lone wolfs wernt because they had forward serrations. If its a glock lower, with a glock upper who really cares if its bought that way, or put together that way. So this glock 34 is legal because its bought factory, but this one thats the exact same isnt because he ordered the frame and slide seperately online.

    G35 Slide

Cons: Not production legal, your stuck shooting limited 10, limited or open
  23. I would say the putting a 35 upper on a "17" frame wouldnt be a problem if it didnt have the holes. The frame is the exact same frame for the 17, 17L, 22, 24,31, 34 and 35. There is absolutely no difference in the frames what so ever. The frames are not marked per model number so there really is no way to know what the gun originally was without a call to glock. I know I have seen used guns for sale where the serial number didnt match so who is to know what that gun originally started out as. If you crack your frame, and get it replaced they are going to give you a full size, small frame which is a generic frame there is really no such thing as a 17, 17L, 22, 24,31, 34 and 35 frame as there is no markings on the frame only on the slide
