  1. The videos are a good way to learn the basics and then work from there to get your own style. There is no one "right" way to shoot for everyone. When I shot skeet alot there were people that paid big bucks to take lessons to be taught to shoot like the instructor did. It didnt work too well for them. Learn the basics from the video then go from there and develop your own style
  2. What is the difference in the STI Slides Classic s unique
  3. I have a 10.5 inch light weight SBR for those stages. On the short guns you don't want a light carrier. You actually want weight or you can get bolt bounce. Alot of SBRs will use an M16 carrier and a H-Bufffer. If you cut it down I would go with 14.5 with a break to take it to 16 overall

3 4 5 doubles arnt too bad with the bigger guns but the 410 is kinda a crap shoot as to whos gonna miss. I have seen shootoffs in 410 do 3 places in 1 station, and some that go multiple boxes. When I shot the VAST majority was doubles ie probibally 95% doubles practice
  5. work just like the other eotech sights just MUCH shorter
  6. I would go with Lone Wolf over caspian. I had one one mine and was just junk. The first one the firing pin hole actually broke at the breechface (almost looked like a bushing popped out). Sent it back. Second one the firing pin safety wasnt even close to fitting, the firing pin channel liner wouldnt fit right, firing pin would rub. Wanted me to send it back for a 3rd one. I figured 2 chances was more than enough. Vanek said he also had numerous problems with them putting triggers in them, FP holes way too tight. I understand some fitting but shouldnt involve makeing holes bigger for the parts to go in because they were milled too tight. There are areas where tight tolerence is good. those areas are not one of them. The lone wolf is much more drop in

Ya I took up other interests when the ammo cost was going up. The big stuff was about $4.40 a box, the small stuff about $6.00. Entry fees were generally $250 for the 5 guns, + HOA entry and any optional purses you played. When I got a nice payout I was playing quite a few options. The biggest I got from a shoot money wise was from, a zone shoot with a bunch of options played. Won the 410, and HOA 2nd in the HAA and placed high in the other events as well with class win etc. Krieghoff Masters(last year they had it full size before it got shrunk down) was about $1500 or so and that was getting 3rd overall out of about 500 shooters after shooting off 399s

Skeet is far from watered down. The 100 targets isn't really the event. That is just the qualifier. The real event is 3 4 5 doubles. Once you get in the higher classes 100x100 won't get you a thing if you cant shoot the doubles. Got out of it a couple years ago just due to other committments and left in AAA in 12, 20, 28, 410 doubles and HOA. Once you get to about B or maby A class the mechanics are down. Its just being able to hold it together for the whole event or shoot. There really isn't much money to be won shooting skeet these days. Skeet unless you do every option out there, and win them your not gonna make the big money. I think the most I ever brought home from a shoot was a little under 2k. Trap you can get some money at the huge shoots.
  9. Attach it to the mag its self on the metal. Similar to the wilson 10 round mags
  10. I wonder if it would be possible to attact something on the outside as a stop. I know Greg did one on his carry gun so he can use a full size 1911 mag for a reload in a compact detonics.
  11. I would look at the jard triggers very good triggers for the money. On a cheaper budget send your trigger parts to bill springfield and 50 bucks and it comes back MUCH improved and lighter
  12. Is the rifle going to be a manditory reload or 45 rounder? Just checking what gear to bring
  13. Im the opposite of most. I can't shoot a light shotgun near as well as I can shoot a "heavy" one. The 1100 is borderline weight wise for me and the benelli is just way to light feeling. I I never move my arms when I shoot the shotgun either so the extra gun weight isn't a problem. Granted that comes from shooting an 11-11.5 pound K-80 for years too.
  14. If you throw a comp on the end you will have an extremely long open gun. alot of guys building open glocks are going with the 17 length slide for that very reason
  15. While outruning may be done in practice seeing how fast you can crank them off, how many are actually doing it in a match shooting on targets while recovering from the shot and getting back on target and transitioning to the next target in actual shoot conditions. Shotgunning is a loading game more than a shooting game. Shoot a 1100 and have not had problems with it. Wipe the tube down after you shoot it and your good to go. Takes about 5 minutes. Ill take the reduced recoil any day.
  16. Does anyone know the round count and classifier for the miami match in OH tomorrow
  17. Never had a bit of trouble from my 16 inch guns with the carbine gas system. Havent had any trouble with the shorty either that is a 10.5 inch. The 10.5 should be even more unreliable but has never choked once
  18. Taylors, usually 19 reloadable. A couple of mine can get 20 unreloadable. Dawson 20 reloadable
  19. For cheap send it off to bill springfield. You will be very impressed with the work he does. He cleans the stock parts up a ton and makes it a pretty darn good trigger. I use the JARD in my competition guns but one of his in the SBR and stuff
  20. Looks like I need to break out the old stippling tool on the mags
  21. Make it real interesting. He claims to be shooting 9mm major yet is shooting out of a 100 round box of WWB that you know is not going to make close to major. While not absolute you can usually tell if the gun is shooting minor PF instead of the Major Pf to an extent. Guy shooting a 9mm major no comp in a light weight gun like a glock that gun is gonna be very noticeable compared to it shooting minor PF loads
  22. And how many shotguns out there in competition are not 922 compliant? I would guess most of them.
