I had the 557 and got rid of it. With no magnification the reticle is cluttered and the dots arnt very defined. If you have anything less than perfect vision the dots are not useable without magnification. You really can't use the dots for distance without a magnifier as they will run together. With a magnifier they clear up and are more defined. I went with a standard 65 moa circle and 1 dot and it shoots quicker for me at least than the 557 did. Even with the magnifier is is a compromise. I use mine for close/mid range only. If its distance a low power variable scope is better than the eotech, magnifier combo.

Your lucky 14 slugs. I have like 10 Low Recoils and more of the heavy ones. My "plan" is a couple alphas so I don't need the heavies

Or go one for one on the paper for rifle and pistol, all Alpha, and make for an even lighter range bag and cheaper on the ammo too lol.

I have had mine leave a package outside that had an adult signature required sticker on it ( multiple stickers actually). This was left outside my apt in the hallway. I went off on them for that stunt. Its not like it was a house where you wouldnt have seen it as easily which would have been bad enough or something small. This was a 13k dollar Krieghoff shotgun left in the middle of an apt complex hallway. I only found out about it when I checked status when it showed it delivered. It had my name forged on it also.

I would say reshoot. The RO was definately in an unsafe position if he were to have fired the shot(downrange of the shooter). Being a free style course he is free to backup if he needs to. If I have a weird plan ahead of time I let the RO know of the intent if its going to put him in a bad position if he dosent know where I am going. I was at a shoot recently where I was going to basically take a huge step back and shoot a couple targets which was different from how most did it(going hard left) and not straight back. I let the RO know the plans because If I didnt he would probibally have been mowed over since he was originally straight behind me. He simply moved over a bit to be out of the way more.

The handgun certificate is MUCH better than the handgun sitting on the table. It allows you to pick the gun you want and it dosent require shipping the gun to a dealer. Since handguns can only be purchased in state of residence its easier to give a certificate for the out of staters and dosent require a dealer to deal with all the paperwork at the shoot. Get your paper and glock sends your dealer a gun or pick it up at a LEO dealer

HM doesnt quite work with a 223

Hoping for good weather at the state match. Just have to figure out what to shoot for the pistol. Broken slide + 6month wait on replacement is not fun a week before the match. Looking like Single Stack for tactical optics might be the way to go and try for 1 for 1 on alphas or work alot on the reloads lol

Hate having the slide breechface break on a gun a week and a half before the state 3gun match. Getting it replaced free but going to be like a 6 month wait to get it back. It looks like this season is going to be over pretty darn quick. Have to check now about pulling out of the 3gun match as I don't think SS is gonna work to well for tactical optics

Dowel rod down the barrel. The firing pin will hit it forward when it goes off. Otherwise primer only in the basemant. Its a pop but really isnt that loud

Any decent gun, good trigger and have enough money to put some good optics on it. Usually a free float tube, and a good trigger and comp and you are good to go. It dosent need rails as there isnt much reason to hang stuff off them for 3gun

Lucked out on my rifle, finished building the gun on a saturday, shot 10 shots through it to zero the scope loading 1 round at a time and shot a 3gun match the next day. Lucked out and worked 100 percent

any word on what the classifiers are going to be?

EZ Load, larger safety, possibly charging handle and your good to go. My 1100 loves the federal value pack shells at walmart. Just keep it clean and it works just fine

30 inch is a good barrel length to shoot. There are some guys shooting the 32s but for a newer shooter the 30s are alot easier to get moving. In skeet there are some going 32s with tubes in them and if you can handle the weight is is a nice setup. If you can't its just awful. I would say good choice with the 30s
