Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks guys, I'll check in to the SVI ones. Jerome'
  2. Wow! out of all the vast knowledge and shooter base on here I really thought somebody would've had the answer. Hmmmmmmm. Thanks in advance Jerome'
  3. Ok so for the dumb question. I know this is prolly on here somewhere, but I really don't know what exactly to be searching for to find it. I recently had my Dawson Limited gun cut down and redone like an Eagle so I could trim some fat off of it and make it legal for the IDPA ESP class. In doing so I pulled the Ice Magwell of for now and put an SVI smaller magwell on it so it would fit in the box and ordered the appropriate 126mm mags to go with it. Well anyone who has ever done this realizes that the mags won't seat with the factory basepads on them. They bump the magwell edges at the bevel. What's the solution for this? The DP International basepads? or am I gonna have to modify the magwell? It really needs a little more on the basepad anyway to seat the mag completely cause it seats counter flush now. I can get it to click in if I slam it in there, but that's not gonna work in a match. Any advise on past experience with this would really help. Thanks. Jerome'
  4. Well I think the match rocked!!!!! I made a few mistakes that I'm kicking myself for but hey it is what it is and I alone did it. I accept my mistakes and try to learn from them. I too think there were some inconsistencies in RO calls on some of the stages from shooter to shooter, but I understand that with a match this size and this complex to organize it's easy to happen. I think overall the RO's did a great job even though a couple of RO's could probably learn some people skills and be a little more tactful when talking to shooters that travel from all over (some great distances), pay there money to shoot, to try and have an enjoyable experience. Having said that, I think everything was awesome like last year. I found the stages challenging and fun and despite the "sillyness" stated about some of the stage COF, I think that if you look at the skills that were challenged in each stage, everyone can find something that they probably need some work on. I'll shoot this match every year they have it from now on. I will have more stickers next year. The towels maybe, due to the cost and time to make. I also had a chance, like every year, to meet a bunch of great guys from all over that share my passion for this sport which makes it all worth while. The awesome prize table is also a bonus. Remember til next year.
  5. I'm working it out with Steve at the Range facility on the design. I've got permission, I just need to finalize the design. In the interest of doing something special for this match and their range I didn't want flood the event with these "special run" stickers. Like I said I will have quite a few of the regular stickers with me as well. I'm also working on a specific design just for our squad. We will be clearly "marked".
  6. Thanks for the offer scout. Still trying to get with MRT53 about the Larue version of the stickers so I know how to proceed with printing them. One way or the other I will have quite a few with me. Our squad will be clearly marked with them for recognition. Thanks guys. Like I said I'll keep everyone posted. I currently have requests for about 100 of them so far.
  7. I'm working on a deal with one of the match organizers for a special "no whiners" Larue Multigun 2010 run of stickers for match attendees only. I will also probably have a small run of the standard "no whiners" stickers at the match that will just have the logo only without the Larue 2010 on them to offer to guys that want to take them back to their home clubs. I obviously can't make 1000 of them and hand them out for free, but I will do the best I can to have quite a few of the plain ones to hand out. I need to iron out the details with the match organizers before I flood the match with them. Trying to do a little something different and special for the match. The idea is to offer the one of the special run stickers to each of the attending shooters for free but details will follow. Thanks for the interest. I will do my best to make it happen.
  8. Fair enough on the steel. Nobody can predict the weather and wind conditions. That's what makes it challenging and fun. I'm just excited for it to be here. This is one awesome match and I can't wait! I'll have a fresh batch of "no-whiners" stickers for anyone who want's one. They are free, I just need to get a rough count of how many to bring. Scout454, I'll take you up on the beer just look for the blindfold.
  9. Golly I don't know why everybody gets sooooo worked up over a few simple questions. I build rifles also and my personal ones have 1-8 barrels on them also. Not you specifically, but despite what most of the guys claim, I see a LOT of setup changing prior to these matches. I know it doesn't make a lot of since to do so, but it still happens. And you're on for the beer!
  10. I used brown box xm193 at 3025fps out of my rifle with the 55fmj bt. and still had trouble with direct hits because of the extreme wind. Just another question that I'll probably catch crap for, but isn't changing ammo mid-stream in the match like ga#*ng? Just an observation. The debate started last year about setting up your rifle specifically for each match to suit the courses of fire for that match. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of finding out if your setup fits a wide range of your needs the way it is? I typically don't have a reason to change my setup "during a match" or before a match except if something breaks, including ammo. Well hey, it's just my opinion but I distinctly remember last year some of the mumbo-jumbo whammy-jammy setups specifically for this match didn't seem to work out for some. I guess I'll just triple tap everything on the outside edge of one of the top corners about 1 inch in and I shouldn't have any trouble, while blindfolded of course. LOL
  11. Oh yeh, hey KurtM I thought you were an iron sight kinda guy? Whatsa matter eyes getting bad enough to use the meopta? Just a little poke. Hopefully you can make it this year. You'll know me..............
  12. I know I'm gonna catch sh*t for this question, but here goes......Last year had some question on scoring the Larue targets. Last year a hit didn't score, only a falling steel scored. The question was with the problem with the 30-40mph tail wind pushing up against the back of the popper/Larue targets. Kinda hard getting them down with a 223 55gr. unless you hit em in the forehead, multi-tap em, or shoot the tactical heavy class. Is a hit a hit or are they going to have to fall to score? Several guys I saw were hitting them dead center with no luck last year using a 223/5.56. Hopefully the wind won't be a factor this year but is there a calibration on the steels or how will the hit be score.
  13. Just got done completing a Tactical Pistol Instructor course at CSAT and it was awesome and informative. Will be attending the Tactical Rifle Instructor in April w/ Paul. A big +1 for Paul Howe and CSAT for realistic and practical training that makes perfect sense.
  14. Has anyone seen or heard about the new Safariland 1-4 scope. Different looking reticle. kinda pricey too. JV
  15. Oh yeh forgot to add I am using CCI small pistol primers. JV
