  1. Thanks for the cool link. That solves many problems for folks. Plus I tried it for creating 16px size which if I recall correctly is the size for favicons. :-)
  2. And are mesomorphs...we ecto-types hate those guys
  3. Here's today's oldie...1584. I keep hoping I'll find another cool letter hidden away somewhere in their books.

    OS-X Lion

I have an app that was a recent purchase and it is NOT compliant with Lion. they are working on it but... I think I'll let everyone else bleed too.
  5. Thanks 3Q Here is crop of another gem I got to handle/shoot today...while not Jefferson...it is pretty old - written in pencil. The second pic is of the book that was published from the work...first edition and in french - the guy was french.
  6. I'm working on a little documentary about a local library that has an interesting collections of very very old botanical books all the way through modern pharmaceuticals. It is mainly a research library but is open to the public as well. Anyway, here (below) is a document that I got to handle today. It is still in the protective cover as we were just doing test shots today and it doesn't usually leave the Mylar sleeve. It is a letter to the gentleman who did the botanical study/inventory of the north American frontier - it is his commission hand written by Jefferson himself. The letter literally fell out of one of their old editions of the inventory. They didn't even know they had it until a few years ago....they've been in operation for over 100 years and still have many volumes and collections that haven't even been cataloged. And while that was pretty cool, I'm also getting to work with books from the 16th century. The earliest so far has been 1533. Another interesting book followed Napoleon on his expeditions through Europe documenting the flora and fauna...not a copy of the book the actual book. Today was the first day and my mind is still spinning. I mean how many people have held that book in those 500 years? Who were they? I just thought I'd share in case there are any book worms around.
  7. I wear a helmet now... not sure how I made it this far though. I used to think hose water was the best
  8. I also hate getting asked to do too much, for too little, without enough time to do a proper job....uggg. ...especially when they are a "Fortune 5" company. I feel a little sick, but their timeline just isn't doable and I don't want to ruin my first job for them by slapping something together...even if they are "OK" with it...and not just for a few beans. Just how I want to be known "that guy who can slap crap together for almost free"
  9. Sweet shooting guns, but severely limited capacity when compared to other limited guns. If I recall correctly I got 14 rounds of 40. I think there is still a guy making +2 basepads but 16 isn't much better when compared to 21. My favorite X5 is the tactical but I am certainly not good enough to shoot limited minor.
  10. Like I said... http://www.rohrbaughfirearms.com/
  11. Car shows make this easy. But this one fits.

  13. Just a quick followup.. isn't this the same everywhere with a resident carry permit? It sure makes a lot of sense to me. From living in both these states... KY yes OH no unless changed recently...I haven't bought any for bit
  14. Take snacks...the cafeteria it very...government issue. Have fun it is a great time.
  15. I should give a local plug for Hermann Plumbing - nice job. Nice customer service too.
  16. Long term follow up...we just had a new sump pump system installed with a back up battery this morning. The battery is supposed to run 5-6 hours continuously, which I was assured is a long time at 15-30 seconds per pump activation. I'm fairly certain our electricity will never go out again :-)
  17. A carpenter friend gave me a great trick when I did mine. I used metal framing for the top and bottom and wood for the studs instead of metal. It makes a nice track for everything to sit in. And then it was easy to attach studs to from the side of the track. I'm not a carpenter but can cob things with the best of them. Let me know if you need a cob-penter to help out. JQ
