  1. It depends on how clean the media is, 20 minutes usually does the trick for me, but sometimes I have left them in for a couple of days . I don't need my cases to have a mirror finish. I don't tumble my practice brass at all unless it is super dirty.
  2. FYI a new safety will need to be fitted also.
  3. That was my point exactly. I see a lot of people double tapping (as fast as they can) targets out to 25 yards because they think the time they save on a double tap will make up for the awful hits. Last night I was experiemnting with this again and shooting @10 yards got way to many M's going mach 10 with my balls on fire. Slowing down just enough to get mostly all A's on 6 targets cost me a whopping .3 seconds on 6 targets (2 shots on each) That was an extra .025 per shot. Trying to find the balance between speed and accuracy is not to easy for me, so I am focusing on using vision to determine both.
  4. http://www.dusterwads.com/html/vihtavuori_oy.html It appears to be shotgun powder.
  5. Sig Lady, Maybe on the next hip they can install one that has magnets so you don't need a holster, that would be cool! (ala Houge)
  6. Shoot all the targets, one at a time. If you try to do more than that you will have a hard time. By calling it a big match you are setting yourself up. It is a match, just like any other match. It may have more stages, people, rounds, but it is just like any other match. Shoot within yourself, don't worry about speed, speed takes care of itself, focus on seeing all your shots and you will finish where you should. There will be a lot of people who try to go fast, some will make it and some won't. Shoot your own match and don't worry about anyone else's match and you will see that you came out where you should, and you won't have the regrets of trying to out shoot your ability. The top dogs finish at the top because they have more ability than anyone else, not because they try to shoot faster than they can. A match is only a test of your training. Count the targets, listen to the stage procedures, and have a game plan for every stage. When you are not shooting watch some of the stages you haven't shot yet so that you can see different options, but shoot each stage the way you feel most comfortable. Most of all have fun, you've taken time and $$$ to do this so enjoy the people around you and enjoy breaking each shot. Oh, and make sure you chamber check all your ammo and make sure your equiptment is all ready to rock BEFORE the match.
  7. I hate the my middle finger hasn't healed yet and that I have to shoot a stage week hand this weekend with two freakin fingers to hold the gun with Damn all the motorcycles!!! And Damn me for jumping one into a tree and dislocating my finger!!!
  8. Congrats!!! I hope it wasn't an "AD:
  9. McDaddy, as someone here once posted "handloads are like underwear, be careful who you share them with" Just remember each gun is different, so start low and slowly work your way up. Crimp, OAL, and powder all make a difference.
  10. Follow the powder manual. I use VV n105 and 125 grain bullets 115 shoot ok but batter the heck out of your gun. I use only Fedral small rifle primers, they burn all the powder better I've been told
  11. I hate them damn boxes I tend to point out the gamey things I see to the stage RO ahead of time (before the match starts) so they can either fix it, or give me a diffinative answer so I don't have to try to argue why it is legal (after the fact.) If I win I want it to be on my shooting, not a poorly designed stage.
  12. Man you blew your chance to make some $$$ By law they can't pitch anymore and you can tape them. IF they do it is a free $500 for you. Better luck next time, I am waiting for an idiot to break the law on me so I can get my free $$$
  13. From from what I've seen and hear from people who shoot it the ACOG TA11 with the donut is the cat's meow. http://www.botachtactical.com/botach/trijacta1ser.html
  14. "Put me on your do not call list" These are the magic words, they can not, by law, say anything more one you say the magic words.
  15. A bb gun is fun to shoot too, but it doesn't score in IPSC. Shooting minor would be fun, but it just doesn't score well, so go for it if you want to shoot it for fun.
  16. #1 lesson for me is it is hard to shoot with your head up your butt. Relax and let the shooting happen.
  17. If that were the case, don't you think the big dogs would be shooting minor? They aren't (with the exception of Matt B on occassion, but then again he hasn't won a Nationals yet either)
  18. I got my hands on a Springfield XD Comp, and if I HAD to shoot production, that would be my choice hands down, unless I could get TJ's para
  19. Nike all terrain shoes seem to work great all around, and no sore feet
  20. TDean, I jumped my friend's motorcycle into a tree It dislocated my left middle finger at both joints, but we got them popped back in without having to go to the doc. It was real ugly. I couldn't shoot all week I figured I would just save it up and give it a go on match day. Not being able to dry fire all week sucked almost as much as only having 2 fingers to hold the gun and reload with. I finished 8th (7th single stacker) I probably should have shot my widebody too because I can actually grip it easier with my gimpy hand, but after all what fun would it be winning the SS match with a widebody I hate that stinking star too! It got me good.
  21. Ah, that is how you shot stage 7 in 12.48. Just skip the last target. That is a bummer. I pulled a brain fade on my last stage (stage 1) and it cost me 3rd place , dislocated finger and all.
  22. There is no law against makin a high cap mag higher capacity Warpspeed. It is even legal to replace a 126mm tube with a 170mm tube. I use both the Arredondo and Dawson basepads on my 140mm so that I have extra room for thw spring. The springs tend to last longer if you don't compress them all the way. They can fit 25 but I only put 22 in them. I like the Dawsons better because they are made of metal.
  23. We use them all the time, the ones from R and R racing. They are very high quality.
  24. I have a 1050 a load up thousands at a time so I don't mind the 20 minute change over time. You'de better buy extra tool head for changing calibers though. No high primers and no up stroke are a big plus in my book, plus the downstroke is easier too.
  25. Is it in the theaters or on video?
