  1. I've heard this before. If the plate is laying down, it fell. There is nothing in the rules that says plate must fall off stand to score. Just that it must fall. It did. Have you run this past the RMs of the matches you RO, and if so, and they agreed, could you provide a list of these matches so I can make sure I never mistakenly attend one?
  2. On your malfunction, what I tell the RO's is to offer the reshoot at the end of the string. I've had shooters who have been stopped and asked and found out they didn't bring enough ammo for a reshoot. We always found enough to get them through but sometimes it's tight. Glock allows a reshoot for any reason, once. After that you need to go have the armorer look at your gun before continuing. Sorry about the lack of briefing. In years past they used to make all new shooters sit through a live briefing offered by the GSSF RM. Now they have information online and there is normally a printed New Shooter Guide or two sitting around at Registration. If you're a new shooter, and let the folks at reg know they've always been very helpful. But I've also seen a lot of shooters turned off by the handholding they used to do. Every GSSF match I've been to, if you ask for help you get it.
  3. Is 170 for Single Stack magazines, The Wilson 10 rounder fits fine.
  4. Where are you at? IPSC is different than USPSA and they have different classification systems. Just want to make sure you get the right info.
  5. I'm sure it will be 170. It's an IPSC match not USPSA. I'm sure they will be following the IPSC rule book.
  6. Legal Jan 1,2013 in Lim/L10. Only legal in Open now.
  7. So I watched 3GN yesterday. Is that pretty much the standard courses for the Texas MG? Looked like a lot of straight across pistol arrays, and fairly short stages. I'm assuming there must be some LR stuff with the rifle. Just curious if they only showed the shortest stages because they show better on TV or if it was actually a representative sample.
  8. Are you talking USPSA or IPSC. Can't say for sure about IPSC.
  9. Completely false. Not a peep about in any BOD discussions I'm aware of.
  10. Yeah, but Jeff actually milled his in instead of using Duct tape like RNT does. Next you're going to tell me that cat tails have been around for more than 4 years also. Crazy, just crazy. FYI, I'm using the XS sight on my Benelli. I like it. I ran the Williams receiver sight for a lot of years. I never used the small insert, whether I was shooting bird or slugs. Just ran it wide open. That sight is about as durable as a wet sheet of paper though. My two worst stages were due to that sight coming out of adjustment or just plain falling off.
  11. I guarantee Ken is thinking about it and I've already talked to a couple guys interested in teaching. It'll be a bit trickier this year because the schedule is changing. Area 1 has done a junior class on the Friday of the match for the last couple years. We opened up to military vets last year and it was an even bigger success. Mike Hughes and Manny Bragg were great instructors. Now we just need to get a third to fill in the last spot because the guy this year was kind of lame.
  12. Uh, cool. Until you miss your slug shot and...have to load. Slugs have significantly more trajectory drop than anything else we shoot. If they're 50-70 yards no biggie. If Larry does something different like drop them at 100-125, you'll see a lot of issues because most people don't know the slug drop at that range.
  13. You have to shoot them right handed. The torque from limp wristed lefties causes the play.
  14. I run the DP triangle on the Sg. Top of triangle at 50 and bottom at 100. Everything else pretty much in the middle.
  15. Thanks Merlin! Quick question, don't most 3-gun matches (majors, at least) limit you to 20rd max for Heavy Metal mags? Doug Some have a 20 round mag limit, some 20 rounds in the mag and some are open wide. Having a 28/32 rounder gives you the option of loading up if the rules allow it. But they also give you option of monopodding off a bit taller magazine even if you can only put 20 in that big mag.
  16. Now wait just a minute Miller. Are you trying to intimate that in the middle of a lethal confrontation, tactically slaying all that come before you, that you don't stop to drop a quail for dinner? Sissy.
  17. I don't understand the OP. How could you upgrade from a Glock 34? I gold plated Glock 34?
  18. So, another question on the stage gun. Was there any reason to shoot it fast? Were you penalized for misses/FTN?
  19. Scores were posted on July 16th (post #165). Here is a link to the division scores: http://www.nwmultigun.com/uploads/NWMGC_2012_Division_Scores.pdf Doug Think he's looking for stage results by division. Not the overalls
  20. If Taran is paying a hair stylist he is payin waaaaay too much. Looks like he cuts it with a Flobee set on 70's Mullett
  21. American Shooters is great to deal with. Hotels in Vegas...not so much. I ship ammo to hotels for every other match I go to, other than Vegas. Last package I had shipped to the hotel was around $20.00 in surcharges. The Suncoast wasn't that bad, but I'd still rather deal with American Shooters. Plus they have an indoor range there and you can sight in no problem.
  22. Does your CZ have a Custom shop hammer? I'm not 100% certain but I don't think the Custom shop hammer is IPSC legal. From the "Global Village" http://ipsc.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=5749&view=findpost&p=56801 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted 10 April 2012 - 10:38 PM Hi folks, For the avoidance of doubt, please note that the CZ USA Custom Shop is NOT considered by IPSC to be an OFM. Therefore, if CZ USA Custom Shop offers any parts which are not 100% identical to parts offered by CZUB (Czech Republic) in their catalogue or on their website, those parts are NOT approved for use in Production Division. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Later, Chuck Been through this every year. This is the list of approved parts Vince posted on the Global Village a couple months ago. Unless CZ Custom changed something the hammer they install is pictured on this and has been allowed for years.
  23. I would imagine the slots will work just like the rest of the Nationals. Based on Mission Count within your club/section. Which means if you want a slot get out and shoot a couple revo scores this year. There will probably be significantly more Revo only slots than in years past. If they figure 150 Revo only slots, 350 SSTK slots, 350 Production slots and 800 Lim/Open/L10 slots there are a lot more slots in general for the Nationals in 2013. If you can get a guaranteed slot from your section or home club great. If not I'm sure they'll open the wait list like the other Nats. Just make sure you're watching and get your name on the list quick. This match needs to be a success to do it again.
