  1. Ok, I'm going to feel guilty about this in the morning, but... I've seen you shoot, do you really want the course to consist of nothing more than a single popper at 25 yards?
  2. Had a guy run the FN2000 at the CTM3GI match. Took him, two RO's and the MD and a pocket knife to get the double feed cleared out. No way would I run that for competition or defense.
  3. It is a STI frame and slide with a steel full lenght guide rod, G10 grips, and a no gap magwell with Aluminum MSH. Not a whole lot to do to take weight off of it. I don't see anything in the rulebook about a way to challenge the scale for weighing the guns. Tri-Top the slide, internally lighten, remove material under the grips, polymer guide rod. There are lots of ways to lighten the weight. STI's come in a bit heavy to begin with depending on which frame you have. Your choice how much work you want to do to ensure compliance.
  4. Yeah...this from a guy who wants to shoot his 6 shooter in Heavy Metal. I know your secret goal.
  5. Don't take too long. They've been out for a couple months now and we're probably going to vote on them in the next month or so. As an FYI, a lot of the changes (not all) posted in the earlier thread have already been incorporated, or are being written. Feel free to go off on your AD if you want but it's probably something that has already been changed. BTW, to reach your AD, its AreaX@uspsa.org. Just swap the X with your area number. My email for example is area1@uspsa.org. Phil's is President@uspsa.org.
  6. Dang, just think about how good Jesse'd be if he had equipment that worked? I will say you looked great on Stage 8. Almost Kalanilike. (Yes that's now a word)
  7. OK, just walked in the door from Bend. Here are the actual finals. We had a scoring error for one competitor on stage 4. Went from about 50 points to winning the stage. It also caused a change in our High Junior Award. The High Junior was sponsored by Colt Competition and along with the cool plaque came a Colt Competition Rifle. Unfortunately the knuckleheaded Junior didn't bring it to my attention until we were halfway through the prize table. Couldn't really come up with a good solution. The place where both these kids had finished was already walking the prize table. If I gave the gun to the one who we called the name of and was the winner when the results were finalized we were penalizing the kid who actually won, but didn't check his scores. If we gave the gun to the other kid the first one would have missed his spot on the prize table. Fortunately Dave Wilcox just happened to be collecting his prize at the same time. Told him what happened and he went out to his truck and got a second rifle. Each of them got a new Colt Competition Rifle. Not too shabby for first and second Junior. So congratulations to our High Junior, and High Knucklehead, Hayden Hixson and my thanks to our second Junior Cody Leeper who also helped setup and ran a stage for the CT M3GI. And big, big thanks to Dave Wilcox, Colt Competition. Not only did he bail me out of a sticky situation. He also loaned me a Colt Competition Pro to run the match with. That rifle is awesome. And yes I already told him he's not getting it back. Now I just have to figure out how to pay for it without the wife finding out. Finals.pdf
  8. Why are you people awake!! You're making me tired. Of course I say that while I'm sitting at the Deschutes Brewery.
  9. Don't know about that. I don't think Daniel is going to let me walk away quite as easily a last time. And there are a lot more top notch competitors than I would have hoped for. Iain kept recruiting them darn it.
  10. That's funny right there!!! I can't believe nobody is roasting the gamer?!?! Why would we? It's completely understandable that he can't hit a 20 MOA target at 50 yards in 5 seconds. I would be scared as well of those giant pumpkin plates. I mean I haven't made that shot since what...4th grade?
  11. Alright, van is packed with about 80-100K worth of gear, IR lasers, visible lasers, FLIR optics, rifles, pistols, (lots) shotguns, targets, lightsticks, about 20K of ammo and dang near every flashlight I own. Leaving in about 45 minutes. I'll meet up in Bend with the guys from FNH bringing SCAR-L rifles and Mark 46 machine guns, PWS bringing shorty SBR's, Colt Competition bringing two of the very first CCR .308 rifles and our NVG dude, Pete, bringing goggles and a clip on optic for everyone to use on a couple stages. CT will be up Sunday with the 200+ lights and lasers they are giving away to all the competitors and some extra little goodies you can buy at a very, very good price. See you all there!
  12. You know there are some really good points if you just hit stop midway through the video. "Kalani Laker is always looking to shave..." "You might say I'm adic..." Yes I might
  13. If it all goes well we should be done by 0130. But I wouldn't guarantee we're out before 0300
  14. Most of the metal targets will be available to engage with Pistol or Shotgun if both guns are in use on the stage. They will be specified in the stage description. Stages are up at www.crimsontrace.com/m3gi. I think I've got everything listed in the stage description, but as usual I can't get at the website this morning. If it isn't up I'll get the match book posted this afternoon which I know has it in there. If memory serves, stages 6, 7, and 8 all have optional targets. I don't think the others do.
  15. I might be missing the OP's point. Are you saying he wants to open USPSA or IMGA matches to Cowboy/Rimfire shooters? Or limit it to only Cowboy/Rimfire.
  16. The MLS are OK for equipment but I wouldn't put a holster on one. The QLS clips are designed with a high breakaway strength. The MLS clips are designed to break away so you don't get hung up on your gear.
  17. Shooting APnthis weekend on Sunday at 9 and next month on the Second Subday as well. These will very likely be the last two AP matches at TCGC. If you want to try come on out.
  18. Wouldn't the belt have to be shorter than 170MM ? Uh, no. Unless you're trying to tell me the RPD pictured is a pistol.
  19. It's not the SPR reticle from the 1.5-5. It's the same reticle in the standard VXR. Basically a crosshair with the crosshair and a dot in the center. It's got a mark 2.5 Mil from the center. Looks like I'll be in the ballpark with a 200 yard zero. Still waiting on a new rifle to mount it to. Really hoping it arrives this week.
