  1. Dave Sevigny shows his grip and how on a YouTube show/skit from this years Shot Show. Go to YouTube and search his name, several vids will come up and it is one of them.
  2. Thats pretty bad, what kind of sand or dirt is it? Ive shot IPSC for 13 years and been a LEO for 17 and Ive had my mags in beach sand, dirt, mud, rain and more and never had an issue. Real find sand/dirt or thick?
  3. I dont want to thread drift, but I didnt clean my Glock mags for 4 months straight and 5000 rounds before breaking them apart and cleaning them before heading for Nationals. I shot in dirt, sand and you name it and never had one malfunction. I also didn't clean them the entire time I was in Tulsa, even with the monsoon rainstorm and mud on them.
  4. Speaking of dropping a mag and not thinking, at this years Lim/Prod Nats I had mental brainfart that cost me 14th place and dropped me to 19th. On stage 8, I had changed my game plan a few minutes before to a better plan, but it entailed picking up a last static target after the swinger thru the port at the end. Well, I shot everything and it was going great, until.....I shot the swinger and dropped the mag to unload and show clear, b/c that was my previous game plan. After dropping the mag, a second later (it seemed like an eternity) I remembered the extra target. I had already let the mag hit the ground and instead of grabbing the 4th or 5th mag off my belt and doing a standing reload, I simply shot the last round in the chamber (w/out a mag in the gun) on the remaining target and received 1 mike. At that second, I thought doing a 1.5-1.8 sec standing reload and getting the extra 2nd shot wasn't worth the time so I just used the round in the chamber and took 1 mike. I don't know if that paid off or not, I figured it up and it doesn't look like it did. The time cost me an additional 2.5 seconds in time and the mike. All points tallied against Vogel (stage winner) HF and it cost me AT LEAST 24 points, more like 30 points total.
  5. I don't think that picture of Chris is the one DRM is talking about. That one has him reloading. The picture DRM is talking about is on page 40 (Better Shooting article by Dave Anderson).
  6. This increases hotel and restaurant costs and makes it more difficult for juniors (and teachers) if it is scheduled during the school year. It could be held during the summer, I don't really care when it is held, well, if it is up north, I would care in the snow! But the 5 days and increase in hotel/restaurant is one extra day. This year, we shot 4 days and stayed over night 5. If you lengthen it to 5 days, you shoot 5 days and stay 6. One extra day or night is not nearly as expensive as a complete separate nationals (another hotel, restaurant, flight, car, match fee, etc) or as expensive as doubling the airfare to fly to the opposite corner of the US. My .02$
  7. I agree that we should have a combined Nats and try for 500 plus shooters. Lenghten it out to 5 days if necessary. I also think it should be held at Tulsa, middle of US and airfare doesnt get too out of control for anyone. From one corner of the country to the other gets very expensive and almost doubles my airfare.
  8. Precision Delta or "just" Precision? Ive used both and like both. Ive used Precision Delta jacketed bullets and brass and had no problems with either. Ive also used Precision "black, moly" coated bullets, also with no problems. In fact, Im going to be trying Precision black bullets again due to OUTRAGEOUS cost of jacketed bullets.
  9. If ur looking to shoot Prod, I would get w David Olhasso or TGO in how their XDs are set up. They are your top dogs w XDs in UsPsa right now.
  10. great job Cliff, Shannon, Matt! I know Smitty wasnt thrilled bout Nats finish and this should help redeem it. Still not posted ?
  11. So Flex, Are you really not going or is that just a mistake?
  12. I'm also shooting Production, in fact, thats the only division Ive ever shot this match in is Production. Last year, or the year before as there was no last year, when I shot it Production, it was a BLAST!! Mag changing and hosing everywhere. Mags flying all over the place looked like confetti. There's only one way to shoot this match, Production.
  13. As far as I know as of less than a month ago, Dave was shooting Production. I havent heard anything about TGO, but I would assume he would shoot Limited again, he's got to be the favorite.
  14. Splashdown, If you get the rechargable 123's, let me know how they work. I've got numerous Surefire lights for work and would be interested in how they hold up. I bought a pack of 100 a few years ago for $75 and they are an off brand, something like Lisun or Alisun. I think they might have even been from Amondo Tech. They are decent, but not Surefires. They last about 2/3 or 3/4 as long, but I have quite a few, so I don't mind so much. I know traditionally Surefire does not recommend their rechargable lights as of now and until they improve their rechargable technology, but I don't know if that would apply to those rechargables. I do remember Surefire stating that the technology needed for dependable rechargable batteries and lights is just not out there right not, but they were working on it. Also, a little caution in dealing with Botach. Ive ordered from them several times and their cust service is a bit to be desired. They take their time and are in no rush to get you your stuff. Plus, some of the items listed they don't have, but they don't say anything until you call. They have great toys and looks great, but realize you're going to wait a while to get it. They don't rush.
  15. Micah and anyone else, For those of you that have shot the CCF all steel frame in the Glock setup, how much does the extra weight play a role and how does it feel compared to the 35? I've been thinking about it, but not sure. I wonder if Sevigny would look into one of these for Limited as well, "if" it makes a difference. Thanks,
  16. The list is moving very quickly. Today is only the first day over the deadline turn in date and this morning at 0600 when I checked my #, I already had my slot up and waiting for me. I paid for it and I'm all set now, Tulsa, here I come. I was really suprised to see only 1 day had passed over the deadline and the list was already moving. I was #27 BTW.
  17. Wouldnt it now be easier to get the all steel frame from CCF? I think the total gun with steel frame and factory parts would now be like 42-43 oz.
  18. I have and like my G32. It is the perfect size for a CCW (in my opinion) and I think it flips less than a 40. I feel/see two different types of recoil. Flip and push. The flip is the muzzle rising and the push (felt recoil) is the recoil back in the hand. I definitely feel more flip out of a 40 than a .357, but the .357 pushes more straight back into the hand, but doesnt flip like a 40. I personally like the recoil of a .357, its like a 38 super, straight back in the hand (felt recoil) I dont mind. I think it is easier to track the sights shooting the G32 in .357, less flip. You definitely know you're not shooting a 9.
  19. I normally run a 12lb Wolff and Wolff steel rod in my G34 w/ Prod loads. I sometimes put a 14lb Wolff in and there really isn't much difference, very slight. In my G35 Lim gun w/ Lim loads, I run a 15lb Wolff.
  20. Charlie is a great guy and has a great setup. I was having some high primer issues and it was not setting off my rounds w/ Charlie's drop in, but it was not Charlie's fault. In fact, he walked me thru numerous things to check to fix it. However, since that, I switched back to the stock Glock trigger striker spring for a few weeks to prepare for a match and ended up doing my best w/ the stock striker spring and heavier pull. Go figure. I currently use Charlie's plunger, trigger bar, connector and spring cups, but stock spring and it will set off anything. For some odd reason, Ive really learned how to shoot that heavier stock trigger better than the light ones. The learning process is strange sometimes and doesn't make any sense.
  21. Definitely CR Speed belt and for PRoduction, I like the Kytac pouches for my Glock. If I shot something other than a Glock, I would probably use the CR Speed pouches. I like the Blade Tech DOH for holster.
  22. Were those 100 Wait List slots for the Open/Lim 10 Nats? Im sorry, I forgot to clarify. I was referring to the Lim/Prod/Rev Nats. I hope there havent been 100 Lim/Prod/Rev Wait List slots sent out. I was only 33rd in line for Lim/Prod/Rev Nats when the List opened at midnight.
