  1. The rounds OAL are way too long. I know Matt Mink loads his to 1.090 if JHP and 1.100 if RN. When I first got my SPO1, I shot some of my brother in laws ammo during a match and it did the same thing. The rounds he loaded were for his Glock and at 1.135 - 1.140. I know load to 1.120 or down as far as 1.090 and have not had a feeding problem yet. I like to keep mine at 1.120 due to using N320 and keeping the case volume/pressure down a little. I shot on a squad at the Nats with a few Glocks and they had a few 1-5 malfunctions. I had none. My SP01 has been flawless, provided I do my part, clean the mags if they are dirty and the gun if dirty.
  2. Anyone know of any big names that are coming this year, either in Open, Lim, Prod, Lim10 or Rev? I know Angus said he was coming shooting all day Fri and I heard Todd is coming, anybody else?
  3. We call that a "starter kit" around here.
  4. Scooter, You mean the little tab on the trigger bar that the trigger return spring hooks into? Which way to you bend it and how far? This is what adjusts the trigger pull weight?
  5. You know what Middle Man, I forgot to ask what insert the 45 had on it. If it was the medium it had, then it felt a little longer and little beefier (just a little) than the 9/40 w/ medium insert. Good deal kend, you'll probably be hearing from me very soon for sights and/or holster.
  6. I know what you mean, but I can still take my cracks on bail-outs. Thats one part I'd miss forever!! Im not ready to give that up, or a lot of other things yet.
  7. I think thats the best hit of the year, boys!! He did get up though, he's got a lot of heart. Ive seen guys go out on stretchers and be out all season for hits a lot less than that.
  8. Yes, the grip area feels a little longer, not necessarily wider, and it is a 5", I believe. Other than that, it appears to be a normal MP. Yes, the WTS sights on them look damn good. Cant wait for them to hit the market. I talked w/ Bobby McGee thereand he showed me his match MP's, very nice. He's got a set of WTS's already. Also, little thread drift, Bobby showed me Blade Tech's new carbon fiber holster for the MP, very nice holster and even better price ($24.95), has MP symbol engraved on it and fits great.
  9. S&W had a MP45 there w/out the thumb safety. Exact same gun, but all black and no safety.
  10. Thanks Flex, This was starting to get into something I had not really inquired about and didnt want to start anything. I'm not comparing one gun vs another for duty. I was just wondering what dept's anyone knew of that issued or allowed the duty carry of CZ's? My dept carries MP40's and I LOVE the gun. Glocks are also excellent choices, but after shooting my MP, I dont have any interest in shooting my Glocks anymore, I like my CZ's and MP (for duty/SWAT) that much. I agree that the very simple basic operation of the Glocks make it an excellent choice for duty carry for all types, (large/small male/female, strong/weak) Harmon, What dept do you work for that allows CZ's to be carried? You can PM me if you want to.
  11. Wow, FEDEX bangs you hard on everything. I sent stuff up to Tenn for the Tenn Sec and it was a boatload of money. I then sent the ammo up that weighed nearly as much and it was half the price w/ UPS. You should just bring some on the plane like Smitty said and then maybe ship a little, or just pick up a couple boxes when you get here.
  12. Jay, You shooting a CZ 75 or CZ 75 SP01?
  13. Mickster, I havent bagged or rested my duty MP40 or MP9, but have shot both freestyle at plate racks at 25 yards and had no problems whatsoever, at least when I dont hose and do my part. For slowing down and concentrating, I'll knock them off as easily as anything else. I shot my MP9 from 45 yards the other day (freestyle) and had all my hits in the A zone with only 1 C.
  14. The SEC is (IMO) the most competitive and toughest conference in college football in the country and it isnt very often you see a team emerge from the SEC w/out at least one loss. It has been done, but with that type of competition all year long, even a National Champion from the SEC will most likely have 1 loss. Everyone kept saying Florida didnt have a chance, but I said it would be closer than what they think. I didnt ever imagine it would have been like this. Flex, Its funny b/c my dad has always been an Ohio State fan since I can remember (Woody Hayes days) and he always said, "Ohio State is great throughout the season, but when an important game comes along at the end of the year (ie big rivalry last game, or Rose Bowl) they always lose and fall apart." Its almost like it is a ginx. I thought that was resolved after they beat Miami, but bit them again this year.
  15. Yeah Bryan, That's about what I figured, but thought Id toss it up and see what came down. In all my years, I havent heard of one yet either. Although, Ive heard of numerous that would allow it off duty. I carry my P01 off duty and am very happy with it. I did hear that possibly that there is an agency or 2 in Kentucky that hands out the 75 BD. Still waiting to hear a dept name on that one. Kellyn, I'll get a hold of Angus at the Shot Show when I see him and ask him there. Thanks,
  16. I agree ld, I think it is a great buy, maybe the best for the money. I know there arent going to be hardly any dept that issue it, but I was just wannting any info guys might have had of who might carry it for paper/info I was doing. I dont think you can compare them to a Davis. My P01 and SP01 have gone through hell and done things my Walther's could never do and they did it with 1000% reliability. They are also more accurate than any other semi auto I have ever shot, with the occasional exception (ie good group from me) bench resting of my STI's. I also think that most dept like a .40 or bigger and CZ doesnt appear to have a lot of options for the .40's, at least not for LEO's. I do carry my P01 as my off duty gun and love it, completely comfortable with it. If anyone hears of any dept's, small or big or whatever, that carry it, let me know, t Thanks,
  17. Anyone know of any LEO dept's that carry a CZ (of any kind) as their duty gun, in any capacity? Or that authorize a CZ for duty? Thanks,
  18. Sharyn moving to our area (St Pete)?????? Good deal and welcome. I guess we'll start seeing you on Fri nights at WAC for the Fri night mini match as well as the Tues night SS matches now???
  19. "I've talked with Ernie as well and he said the same thing about having that number of rounds through his 40 - I haven't heard of a single striker failure in live fire - it's all been in dry fire up to this point and Kevin is correct...snap caps will fix that worry." "Let's see, Ernie works for S&W.......has access to quality and failure data.....has the custom shop on standby to work on his pistol.......I'm sure he didn't have any problems." SSWonder, I guess you dont know Ernie b/c he is not like that. Ernie is one of the most stand up, honest, respectable people Ive ever met and when its not right, he'll say it, regardless of who's product it is. He'll call it what it is and that is the price you pay when you get him. And guys, you cant compare dry firing the trigger a few times in match when unloading and showing clear to dry fire practice. One is going to be done 50,000 + times, the other will take decades to get there. That wasnt even close.
  20. The 147 Precision Deltas have been great for me. Ive shot about 20,000 of them so far and have never had any issues. Accurate, reliable in what I shoot (CZ) and priced good. I'll be trying the Berry's for practice and local matches only. Majors I'll still be shooting Precision Delta's or Zero's, but for local and practice, the Berrys are fine. Especially at what a local reloader is going to load them for. He already ran off a lot of 100 for a test load and they make the PF, fed reliably, did not keyhole, and were average accuracy. Now, I have some Precision black bullets that keyhole like crazy out of my SP01, but not my MP.
  21. DougC, They were said. The 40 Glocks were having issues before the third pin was added and they were coming a part. One local dept here had 9mm Glocks, switched to the .40's and actually wasted the time and money to switch back a year later due to the 40 Glocks falling apart so badly. Everything has growing pains, but they'll work though it. "If your life depends on it, get a Glock." For some maybe, but I put my life on the line everyday w/ an MP and am completely comfortable w/ it. Ernie Langdon has over 40,000 rounds of full power/duty type ammo through his MP with NO problems or catastrophic failures. Again, there are several firearms that cant be fired tens of thousands of times w/out a snap cap or at least it is not recommended. The MP is no different. So simply put in a snap cap when dry firing, small problem solved easily.
  22. Jay, Youre right. Ive got 5 of Matt's pieces and they are my favorite guns Ive ever owned. I like the CZ's and the ergo's are the best in the business, for me at least. Ive never found a gun that fits me well as the CZ's. IMO, the CZ's are awesome and I havent shot anything this well in a long while.
  23. Cy, the rep is correct, Ive already tried it with Wolff rods and springs in my MP and it works fine.
