  1. We use the CCI Speer primers in our factory Gold Dots are work for duty. Now, the CCI Speer pistol primers are the hardest cup for pistol primers, but not as hard as rifle primers. We havent had any issues with ours.
  2. sslav, Agreed, if you're going to do that for every pull, then let the SS guns play. Otherwise, everyone shooting a Glock, XD or striker fired gun can switch to a DA/SA gun, since that is what they are complaining about anyway. If there is a 3lb min pull, measure the first shot and if they dont like it, just switch or stop complaining. If you're going to measure second shot and beyond, then allow SS in the game. Remember guys shooting Glock, XD or striker fired guns, you picked them, you can switch.
  3. For guys w/ a DA/SA, is it going to be just for the DA pull or all of them? How is that going to work. Will be nice to see how they will enforce that.
  4. Middle Man, Blackhawk does not have a holster that officially is for the MP, but a distributor told me that Blackhawk is probably going to have the CQC/Serpa model for the G21 be dual for the MP as well. I have a CQC/Serpa and it fits my MP perfectly, like a glove. No slop, fits perfect, very fast and if you have the Serpa feature, a safety as well. For matches, obviously you dont want the Serpa, but still works great.
  5. Try some factory loads and see what happens. I havent had any issues w/ Winchester primers, but that is small pistol, not small rifle. The small rifle are definitely harder. My PD is transitioning to the MP and I been teaching most all the classes. We have 4 days left (we taught 3 weeks straight for every day) to finish the whole PD in the new gun/holster. When we are done in 4 days, we will have fired in the area of 113,000 - 114,000 rounds in 3 weeks. I havent seen or heard of more than 10 malfunctions total (of any type) so far and we have 4 days left. We are issuing the MP40's. You might want to take the strikers out and clean in there very well to ensure they isnt any shavings or crud in there. Also check the loads to see if they're in battery completely. The gun is not supposed to fire out of battery as told by SW and everything we have tested. I actually tried to set it up to do so and havent been able to. Id shoot some factory stuff out of it and see. If that doesnt correct it, call SW.
  6. Another vote for Atlanta Arms and Ammo. I liked their 147gr 9mm load, worked great, excellent accuracy, good quality.
  7. Ray, talk about lack of recoil, are you talking about the 9 or 40. If you're talking about a 9 having lack of recoil, you should try the 40. It definitely doesnt feel like a 40, it feels like a hot 9, and Im talking about the full power duty rounds we have to carry. Handles the recoil better than most everything Ive tried before. The recoil is almost non-existent on the 9. Great guns.
  8. Kepa, I pretty much do what Matt does. When I draw, I put my trigger finger on the trigger when it hits downrange and as the gun is coming up, I then start putting more pressure on the trigger, but pull thru bout 80% of it after it is on target. Practice just DA or DA/SA shot for numerous practice sessions, you'll get it. It took me shooting DA or DA/SA with two shots to finally get it, but now, I dont mind shooting anything I have to w/ the DA.
  9. All in all, I like the MP better than anything else out there, except my CZ's. If I didnt love my CZ's as much as I do, Id be shooting the MP in Prod. My dept is transitioning to them and I've been teaching a lot getting the transition (gun and holster) done. Gotta say, though, I shoot the MP ALOT better than my Glocks. Immediately, the grip and feel are great and it shoots very well, very accurate, handles recoil easily. Personally, I like the stock trigger the way it is. The break is not bad at all and you can prep it pretty fast for follow up shots.
  10. Actually, I kind of like the factory MP trigger. I might like it a little lighter, but its not bad the way it is. I think it is very crisp and light pre travel. When you hit any resistance, it is right at where the trigger breaks and very crisp.
  11. Kelly, I think you meant Lim/Prod/Rev Nats, not Lim/L10/Rev.
  12. A nice triggered or worked CZ is something really special. The CZ's are the most accurate out of the box guns Ive ever fired and even rival some of my custom guns. My CZ's have been 100% flawless with no malfunctions of any kind. The MP40 is now my duty gun and Im pretty damn happy with it. I actually like shooting my MP more than anything else, except my CZ's of course, but other than that, it would be the MP's. TRP Professional, Pm sent.
  13. I love my CZ's and shoot them in Prod. If I didnt like my CZ's as much as I do, I'd probably be shooting the MP in Prod. These CZ's are addicting.
  14. Dan's sights appear to be Heinie's with the serrations. Not bad and definitely better than what is on them now, but not ideal for me. I shot Heinie's for quite a while and they were fine, but after switching to Warren/Sevigny sights (no serrations, back cut for no glare, smooth matte black), the Heinie's w/ serrations now really bother me. I didnt notice it before, but after shooting the WTS with such a clean look, now looking at Heinie serrations on the rear really distracts my eyes. I will say, the ones Dan has are better than what's on them currently, hands down.
  15. Talked w/ Scott Warren recently and he said the sights are in the process. Some will be done shortly for testing in the next 2 months and as long as they work out, they should be in production soon.
  16. I agree, I wouldnt mind a run what you brung. Then again, if you put Lim/Open together and Prod/Lim10 together and Rev/SS together, they can design course w/ everyone having about the same number of rounds. Whatever, getting too late and not thinking straight.
  17. Chuck, I saw that. It was on Stage 16 (4 long popper and 2 classic targets), right? We had just finished for the day and figured I'd stop for a sec to watch. I saw Angus, Matt, Dave and others shoot it. I saw you LAMR and then the RO stopped you after you holstered and asked about your, was it mag pouch or holster position? I couldnt believe an RO did that when you were hot, mentally prepping, and about 4 seconds from the buzzer. I thought maybe you'd unload and step off the line for sec, but kudos, you kept going. That was bad.
  18. I agree pskys2, that way they could design stages with almost everyone having the same amount of rounds, or at least real close.
  19. Again huh. I guess that is the format that BOD likes, cant say I agree, but oh well. I thought the first format worked well. Plus, being in Missoula is going to double (if I book right now) the airfare to Tulsa. I didnt book the Tulsa flight until 2 months before. Will be nice to get dates though, might not matter this year. Is the range in Missoula or outside and if outside of Missoula, which direction and how far? Thanks,
  20. Although, I will say I heard pretty strong (possibly validated) rumor the other day at work (LEO). We are switching to the MP and heard that SW brought in a former Glock "big wig" to start running some of the operations and he made some major changes. He cut loose some people and brought in some of his own that he had at Glock to run some things. I'll get more when I go to their school here shortly.
  21. Anybody know which divisons are going to be up together again, ie Lim/Prod/Rev and Open/Lim10 or vice versa? Thanks,
  22. I agree, there is a pretty big difference in the grip and feel of both. Personally, after trying the MP, I like the MP much better.
  23. I agree. Columbus Ohio PD and Dallas/Ft Worth Airport PD just switched to them and Columbus had done some testing. They shot 60,000 rounds out of 6 MP's w/out 1 malfunction. They also shot 2500 rounds out of 1 MP in 40 minutes w/out any malfunction of any kind.
