Sounds like your crimp is the problem. The factory seating/crimp die can give an irregular crimp. I would switch to a taper crimp die after the bullets have been seated.
You didn't say what quantity a "lot" is. With a new factory weight spring or heavier aftermarket spring a few hundred over time won't be a problem.
The cast frames are said to be a bit "stronger" than forged frames.
My experience was similar at my first match. I was so excited to be shooting that I forgot to keep focus. A couple of matches later, I am still having too much fun to keep 100% focus but am settling down.
The stores that post signs are doing the CYA routine. They feel better at corporate but still know if someone is injured by a firearm in or around their store they will be sued.
Ebay is a fact of life. I intensly dislike their past firearms and more recently their new policy but they have decided that banning the other firearms items will only negligeably affect their business. They will go on and we will find another resource.
