Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Ahhhh. That's nice to know. I've been out of the loop for a while. Thanks for the info
  2. You can't use 8 shot guns in USPSA anyway so this is a ICORE and steel challenge gun. They info on both the 929 and the 986 is up on Smith's website. MSRP is $1089 for the 92 and $1049 for the 986.
  3. What is a brand new in the box .360 high Millet rear sight worth? For new N frame gun. Rounded tang
  4. Some of you may already know but our good friend here in GA Helen Pfeiffer was injured in the snow a few weeks back. Broke her leg pretty badly. Had one surgery already and is going to have another soon. Keep her in your prayers.
  5. For big steel I usually jerk the trigger harder and close both eyes. Honestly I will clean my gun a little. Make sure all screws are tight and everything is in working order. I do make sure I use all the same headstamp brass to fit my GREAT HEARTCO moon clips. I try to shoot every match the same. If you are changing something in your shooting then you are not doing what you are used to. And you are not thinking about winning and what you need to be thinking about. That being said last year after our state match. (Georgia) I realized I had a broken pin in my 22 Ruger which I used to take second place in 22 iron. LOL Make sure your ammo is the best it can be keep your mental game where it needs to be.
  6. The fastest reload is another gun. LOL Which way feels comfortable to you. I have tried both and can do both equally as well or poorly. LOL Either way practice practice practice. When you get tired of practicing you ain't good enough so practice more. I don't mean that to be a smart butt or put down your skills. I mean it to say NOBODY is good enough. We all need practice. It is also very perishable meaning it goes away bloody fast if you stop practicing.
  7. I think now days it kinda sorta follows USPSA division rules. Production you are limited to 10. For limited and open whatever you can stuff in the mag. For myself WHEN I do shoot a slide gun I keep it to about 12 or so. The extra weight of the ammo can become a problem on draws and transitions.
  8. OK I wasn't sure. I had not seen one but since I usually shoot revolvers I don't keep up with auto stuff so much. Thanks. Kenny I may be getting in touch with you soon.
  9. I am thinking about shooting my M&P pro in limited steel challenge. What race holster do you like? I like the CR Speed for USPSA because I like the security of the barrel plug when setting down or odd starting positions. For steel that is not a worry. Speed sec? Ghost? or others Which do you like?
  10. I got my M&P Pro in Feb of this year. It shot low then but it I did not have much time to work with it. I finally took it out in May or June and sure enough it shot 6" low at 25 yards 4" low at 15. Called Smith they sent me a label and I sent it back. They replaced the barrel and it still shot low. Accurate but low. I think I figured out my problem last night, I was holding the fiber optic where I usually do on my revolvers which was right at the bottom of the rear sight. If I ingore the F/O and use the corners of the sight at the top of the rear sight it is dead on. I am going to work on this a bit then if this proves out over a few hundred rounds i will replace the front sight
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLIFF!!!!!!!!!! Late. Srry I missed it yesterday.
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYBODY
  13. I have used a Smith 18 4" 6 shot revo and won iron sight 22 at our monthly match in Griffin with it. I am always in the top 3 with it. It runs 100% I have used a VERY OLD fixed sighted Ruger standard that is bone stock. It runs 100%. I have a Ruger 22/45 that is bone stock except the front sight. It runs 100% I placed second in 22ironthis past weekend with it at the GA State Championship match. I had not a single hickup with it this weekend. If I had i would have been third. I have on order a Volquartsen trigger kit for it. AND I have a Smith 41. A wonderful gun but can be ammo picky. I have seen a lot of 22 used. I have seen a lot of 22's crash and burn. The Rugers I see that have problems usually have been messed with. If you want to tune the trigger use Volquartsen parts or have someone do it that knows what they are doing. If you have one that runs leave it the heck alone. Smith revolvers run if left the hell alone. Buckmarks are fine when left alone. Smith 41s are to precise they can be tough to keep running. Thats what I have seen. The 1911 conversion I have seen are hit or miss. The Tac Sol units are among the best. All of this is just what I have seen. YMMV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The simple fact is though 22 ammo is the real wild card.
  14. Clyde Harrison does it in Griffin some. And is VERY FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for reloading on the clock. Use 2 guns. Reloading between stages is a bit slow but so what. If you want to shoot SA revo it is a legal class shoot it and they will get over it.
  15. Congrats Tony Did you take second in 22 with your 22 Revo? No Mark I cheated and used a bone stock Ruger 22/45. LOL
