    TEXAS STAR

I've shot the heck out of these things and average about 4 seconds (Single Stack B ). I've got in the 3's a few times but have also gone to slide lock at least once.
  2. I hope she makes a full recovery. Truly awesome animal.
  3. Very nice. Looks similar to my setup.
  4. Our society needs to get back to the basics, like Public Hangings.
  5. Sorry to hear this about your pup. Does he have a diagnosed illness? My Shephard had symptoms like you describe @ about 10yrs and it was arthritis. One tablet of Alieve each morning did wonders for him. Anyway, I hope that he is comfortable in his remaining days.
  6. I had to really think on this one. But I realized all I had to do was sort my library by "most played" and the answers were obvious. Rage Against The Machine/Rage Against The Machine System of a Down/Toxicity Pantera/Cowboys from Hell Nine Inch Nails/Pretty Hate Machine Toadies/Possum Kingdom
  7. Meanwhile, behind the facade of this innocent looking bookstore...
  8. Pmags for me. You should get the Firebird Pmag coupler, too.
  9. 2004 F150 Super Crew 5.4 eng with towing pkg. 14.5 in town 19 on the highway. I've put close to 70k miles on it now and that's the best she'll do.
  10. I picked up an aftermarket barrel for my 17L so I can shoot cast/moly bullets and the chamber is way too tight. Even the ammo that passes my tightest cartridge gauge is a hit or miss. I'd like to get the chamber reamed out and have the lead-in of the rifling relieved (not sure what the technical name for this is). My question is, where's the best place to send the barrel to get this done? Can I buy a tool and do it myself? Thanks
  11. Shot SSTK at DTC, as planned. I did not plan on freezing my tail off. Three of us car pooled up on Friday, hoping to watched some of the big shots shoot (Travis, Manny, etc). Saw Travis shoot one stage, that was it. Friday's weather made what were probably the worst range conditions I'd ever seen. I did get to meet Diana Lee and Mike Cyrwus, so going up Friday wasn't a total loss. Oh yeah, we saw Dave Re at Ihop Friday morning and even though we've all shot with him several times in Waco, and he made an attempt to chat with us, we had no idea who he was since we'd never seen him without a bright yellow shirt, shades, cap and muffs. Whoops. We were 30 minutes down the road before we realized it. I apologized the next day. Anyway, the DTC was my first BIG USPSA match experience, having only recently come over from IDPA. My goals for the match were to be safe, call all my shots and get no penalties. I ended up with 4 or 5 D's in the entire match and maybe 30 or so C's. The rest all A's. The only penalty I got was a foot fault in the Temple of Boom. I heard a lot of folks got that one though. I could've shot faster, scored a few less points and come out better in the end but I had fun and was satisfied with the outcome. One thing I learned from the cold weather Saturday was that even though it feels like I'm firmly seating the mag, it may not actually be seated unless it hurt when I did it. I'm thinking about area 4 in October now... So much to work on before then.
  12. Ha! Mike, you don't miss anything. Ok, the reason I asked, is that I have a nice KKM barrel for a 34 and no 34 to put it in. I have a 17 but really don't want to cut this barrel. I guess I'll just keep it around until I end up with another 34 someday. Thank you Mr Watson for the info.
  13. Would it be legal to run a 34 barrel in a 17 slide and shoot it in ESP? Just curious.
  14. I've seen it happen to someone but haven't done it myself. I have gone to make ready and discovered that the gun in my holster was not the gun I expected it to be. (compact carry 1911 vs full size)
  15. I'm using Pmags, Okay USGI mags with Magpul followers and SS C-products mags I bought from a forum member a while back. All work perfectly in several different receivers.
  16. I've shot a few dozen different ARs and all of them are not created equally in the gas blow by dept. Some are REALLY BAD. If I can smell flash suppressant while I'm firing, there's some blow by. If my hat flys off, then there's too much.
  17. Hoppes #9 and Mobil 1 5w20 motor oil. My guns run in blazing heat with blowing sand or freezing rain and red mud. Pistols, revos, AR's and shotguns.
  18. Possible gas leak at the key or could there be an issue with your buffer tube? Maybe when the carrier is hot, there's contact with the tube.
  19. It's going to take at least a day to recover from this match. I am physically and mentally drained. This was my first BIG match experience and it was great! I have much respect and admiration for the folks that made this match happen, especially the RO's. It takes a special kind of nut case to volunteer for a job like that. Freezing rain, snow, high winds, and blowing red dust all in one weekend. I was expecting to hear Gabriel's horn at any moment.
