  1. Since the Glock frame is not marked to indicate the model #, there is no way to say what model it came from. Buying a used glock frame, for example. It might have come from any one of several models but unless it came from a 34, you can't put a 34 top on it and use it in SSP? How would the shooter even know?
  2. After 5 or 6k rounds of 200gr Bear Creek Moly's down the pipe of my SS blaster, I have never had any issues. I'll drag a boresnake through it once in a while for grins but otherwise, nothing down the bore but more bullets. There's obviously build up in the bore but it has not had any effect on performance. I can still get a 50 yard headshot with it.
  3. When shooting SS, I've got 4 on my belt and have used them all on a stage. At the DTC I wore 5. I don't recall which stage it was but I didn't get the mag seated on a reload while running to another shooting position so I just kept running and grabbed the next one off my belt. It worked out fine. That 5th mag was mighty useful. Now it's always 5 on the belt.
  4. Thanks, D. I had a much better run last Tuesday than the one before. For whatever reason, I decided to start slapping the trigger. I worked through it in dry fire and on the plate rack and all the planets are back in alignment. No more trigger slapping. Today, I finally got to run my G24 in a match. I'm very happy to report that it ran 100%. My ammo, and gear all performed as needed. Not one single surprise. I managed to pull off 5th overall and 3rd on a stage. So far, that's the highest I've been able to get in a USPSA match. I'm having a ball putting all these bullets downrange. N. TX is a practical shooters paradise with all the opportunities to shoot we have here. Next Saturday, I'll be dragging my carcass to Greenville. I can't wait!
  5. I ordered mine the day Jim announced their release. I have used the heck out of it and not had a single issue of any type. It's rock solid and everyone with an AR should own one.
  6. I'm running the Miculek comp on rifle, carbine and midlength setups and really like it. It's effective enough for me. I don't notice any muzzle rise or recoil when I'm shooting.
  7. it's almost as good as the Freddies catalog.
  8. Thanks for the pointers. My pre-stage programming definitely needs work. I'll be working on that at today's carbine match. The voice of experience right here, ladies and gentlemen.
  9. Two IDPA matches in a row I've gotten procedural penalties for shooting targets out of order. I NEVER used to do that. Bright side I guess is they were fast penalties.
  10. I ride the trigger on everything. with enough dry fire practice, you will learn where the reset is on your revo and figure out how to ride it. Dry fire, lots and lots of it.
  11. New shooter, finger on the trigger. If I had a dollar for every time I yelled finger over the last 3 years, I'd shoot free for 6 months.
  12. On the trigger, I just polished all the contact surfaces and left the factory 3.5" connector and factory striker spring. Having spent a lot of time shooting wheelguns, I like a very positive reset. The pull could be lighter but then I'm waiting on the reset.
  13. Looks like I hit a pot hole today. Shot a 4 stage plate match and just never connected with the gun. It was a strange feeling. I've used this gun and load in several plate matches before and feedback from the sights was great. Tonight, the feedback was almost zero. I felt like the trigger control was there. The rounds just weren't going where I knew they should. I have not seen the scores, but even if I came out okay overall, I am not happy with my performance. I can and will do better. I'm thinking some quality time with the 25 yard plate rack will get me back on track. (I hope).
  14. Thanks, Brooks. Holster, nothing fancy. Since I've only recently gotten into USPSA but have been shooting IDPA for a little over 3 years, I'm not comfortable with Ghost/CRspeed type holsters. I spent a lot of ammo and range time trying to see an advantage but it wasn't there for me. My muscle memory is pretty much hard wired for a straight up and down kydex belt holster. So, that's what I use. If I was not going to shoot IDPA anymore, I'd put forth the effort to reprogram my draw for a speedier rig but for now, it would just complicate my life. Here's the holster I use, it's a Comp-Tac: http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=66
  15. That was a wicked slice.
  16. Thanks! I did not get to shoot it today as planned, unfortunately. It's ready to rock but I did not make it to the match. I might use it in a steel plate match tomorrow since the ammo is already loaded. It'd be good draw practice with it, if nothing else.
  17. I have arthritis and knees, ankles, hands, etc can be pretty unruly at times. I find Aleave works about as good as anything short of Novocaine. The will to shoot overcomes a lot doesn't it?
  18. Thanks for the info. I'm really looking for major PF loads. 165+. I'm writing these down for future reference.
  19. Actually, there's no glue. They stick great, wet or dry and they add almost nothing to the thickness of the gun. every Glock I own has the same setup.
  20. I use the cal comp holders and to keep them from coming off, you just need a little friction. I put a 1x2 piece of grip tape on the inside of the clip so that the rough side of the tape is making contact with the back of the belt. Works on wilderness and leather belts.
  21. I stayed in a hotel once that had an alarm clock that sounded EXACTLY like a Pact Club Timer. I about killed myself jumping off the bed when the buzzer went off. Then I spent the next 10 seconds totally confused. About the same as if it really had been a timer.
  22. I can't put the stock barrel back in because it's ported. It started life as a 24C. But, I have had great luck with Storm Lake, Bar-Sto and KKM barrels in Glocks. No issues in many thousands of rounds. I do agree though that the factory barrel is a good barrel.
