Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Very cool pics. My wife and I found an old-fashioned hobby shop near us recently while looking to put together an HO train set for Christmas. She was very much taken by the current model car kits available. I see her working on some of them in the future. (She's craftier than me). Would much rather deal there than do the Amazon thing for something like this. Local owners, hobbyists themselves and have a thriving hobby shop and added a gaming store nearby recently.
  2. Jim Rusert

    Which one?

Fly fishing. Dirt Bike or Street Bike?
  3. Phenomenal. Congratulations! Makes me hopeful to get my 5 year-old M2 round count up there. I've taken my share of comments on the skeet field but I won't shoot anything else.
  4. Goodbye Michigan State; Goodbye West Virginia.
  5. Thanks, folks, I have had loads worked up for 231 and Unique for years and I'm interested in working up my Titegroup load. I have enough of it to last me a couple of years at my current rate of consumption. I'm curious to see how it runs in the G35. I really wanted to try Autocomp but I haven't found any. I was quite happy with the N320. I've gone through 16 pounds over the past few years. It seemed to be the cleanest of all that I've used. But between it's scarcity and the high price, I needed to change. Thanks again for your help! --Jim
  6. So, I've used up the last of my stash of VV N320. I am switching loads and I have the following in my stash. Which one do you think I should use to develop my new .40 S&W load, 180 gr RNFP Extreme bullet, shooting Production Division only out of a basically stock Glock 35? If you can add some thoughts about your vote, I would appreciate it!
  7. Used a 50 year old S&W .38 Special Combat Masterpiece. 4" bbl. My original carry gun. Had a pocket full of speedloaders. First stage I shot was El Presidente and fumbled the reload so badly that I deposited 5 out of 6 cartridges on the ground. Fired the one that made it to the cylinder. Zeroed the stage, of course. And loved every second of it.
  8. I am pretty disappointed in Springfield Armory at this point. I received the latest update via email tonight as follows. Turns out they're still testing the "fix": XD-S™ Recall Update 10/09/2013 XD-S™ Upgrade Testing Very Near Completion We last updated this site Friday, October 4, with the good news that we have found what we believe is the final solution for the XD-S™ upgrade and that we would be continuing exhaustive testing through the week. We are very pleased to let you know that a large majority of the testing is complete and is going extremely well. We believe we are very close to being able to give our valued customers more specific information about when they can expect their XD-S™ pistols to be returned to them. We will update this site again on Friday, October 11 and fully expect that we will have more great news to share. We are making final arrangements for upgrading the pistols that our customers returned to us. In the meantime, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your patience, loyalty and support of Springfield Armory®. We remain fully committed to resolving this recall as quickly as possible and we are confident that you will be extremely pleased with your upgraded 3.3 XD-S™. As a reminder, do not use your 3.3 XD-S™ until the upgrade has been performed.
  9. 09-26-2013 Just got off the phone with Springfield - they're currently estimating 6 - 8 weeks.
  10. Mine's been in for three weeks. Has anyone gotten one back yet?
  11. So, I have decided finally to build up the STI Single Stack frame that's been hiding in my safe for a number of years. It's going to be a basic build, in .40 S&W, blue, with which to compete and/or carry. So, I've accumulated a few parts in the recent past: slide stop, pins and springs and the like.but I'm ready to complete the project. I'm looking for best places pick up the rest of the parts, slide, barrel, trigger etc. Where would you go? Feel free to post links in your replies.
  12. All but low powder sensor (which is still backordered) shipped on March 14th. FEDEX Tracking makes it look like I'll have it on Tuesday.
  13. When your wife asks: "Is there really an ammunition shortage?" And you reply: "Not at our house."
