After shooting the ICORE Cup this past weekend I am really loving it. (only my third ICORE match ever) Thanks again to Glen, Kathy, John, and all the others that worked their asses off to put on such a great match. You will have to put up with my ugly mug again next year. Seriously though, that was the most fun match I have ever shot in my short 4 year shooting career. That may have something to do with the way I shot which was pretty dang good. I had some sloppy hits but overall I am was pleased. I sure wish there was a match closer to me. I was looking at the list of clubs today, I may have to make Jacksonville FLA soon. And I will be making some of the bigger matches from now on.

I will have to watch that. I meet and shot with Mark this weekend he is a DAMN GREAT GUY!

Tony , this may be a stupid question , but will you be shooting roundgun? Major or Minor? Going round in circles in a major way.

Not yet I don't think. I am waiting patiently. I can tell you this, I won 1st limited unclassified or as my buddy Dwarren9 called it "high sandbagger". Or something to that effect. I was 8th in limited and 14th overall.

It was great to meet Bubber, Pinshooter,Bwana, Mr Clean,BlackSabbath, Dwarren9, Haras. If I missed anyone I am sorry. This match was a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is on my list for next year.

I have moonclipped a couple of k frames. And I do find the to be a tenth or two faster IF you can reload with a comp III speed loader well. MAYBE??????????????? My 19-4 pinned and recessed gun can be loaded pretty fast with moon clips and short colt case. With 38 special cases the difference is not so great.

Really I ordered a couple a few years ago then I miss ordered more a year or so ago. You do mean the one out front. Not the one in the rear where you adjust the sight correct.

I cast my own bullets. For all of my 38/357's Smith and Ruger I size my bullets .358. For both steel and ICORE I use a Lyman 125gr round nose mold. I cast them from straight WW and lube the with White Label Lube. I get no leading at all.

Isn't that kinda like saying "but she has a great personality"? Yeah, well, there's nothing you can do when you're trying to make a revolver function reliably with rimfire ammo. They simply take more energy (i.e. more mainspring tension) to light the priming compound. All rimfire revolvers are "3:00 A.M. girls" in terms of DA trigger pull. It's that or go home alone. ROTHFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never checked my 18 until tonight. 10 1/2 pounds SMOOTH but heavy. And it works. Just never thought about it.

They were at the US Steel Nationals Long story short they said Jerry's 22 revolver has a 10 pound trigger. I know you can lighten them up much at all but WOW!

Well lets see here. I have pushed cast 245gr SWC 1000fps. If that won't blow a hole in any whitetail deer I don't know what will. I have pushed 300gr LBT bullets 800 fps from my 4" 625, again more than enough for whitetail. If a 45 acp will kill a human why then it should be more than plenty to kill a close range white tail. I know a lot of people that have killed deer with 45 acp. Yes it is a close range affair. Yes it should be a broadside shot but it will work with aplumb. I have carried my 625's hunting never got to shot anything with them. Now I know deer are tougher now than they ever have been. And some folks think anything less than a 375 H&H is much to weak but I don't by that.

I handcast my own soft. To many cheap commercial bullets are way to hard as S&WIowaegan said. I don't have leading problems at all. As for lead poisoning if you are careful when handling them you will be fine. Wash your hands before you touch anything that goes into your mouth. Primers have lead in them as well so you run a risk anyway of lead poisoning. As i said I cast my own, I have had my lead level checked many times, I am at the hig side of normal. Which you can get by just shooting and handling fired cases anyway.

I will be in Missippi, Yea I know it ain't pelt rite, For the ICORE Cup, you are more than welcome to put a few down range out of my revo if the staff has no problems with it after the match... Also Pinshooter did an eperiment with just that idea to see if ports made a difference in muzzle flip on a Ransom Rest. In short it did not make a difference, But "felt" recoil may be different for each one.... later rdd Well I have a 627 V-Comp I have tried it with and without the little comp with my ICORE and steel loads and I truelly can't tell any difference. I didn't know if some other type of porting or something made a difference.

Do ports/comps/breaks really work and make a difference on ICORE guns with 120000 pf loads? I have never really messed with anything like that but I do know all of these things work by bleeding off pressure. Well with 120000 pf loads we ain't making much. Edjamakate me on this.

Have you replaced the channel liner? If the firing pin and spring are being allowed to move around during travel it could be dragging slowing it down enough to cause light strikes.

I am using BAC now myself but I think I am going to try the Carnauba as it is supposed to make less smoke. The BAC ain't bad.

Try different lubes with you cast bullets. What lube are you using for the bullets you cast? I am using Whites Label Lube for mine and the smoke is much reduced but I am going to try one of their other lubes that is supposed to make less smoke. I shoot my own cast bullets almost exclusively. Indoor and out. Yeah folks fuss a bit but they get over it. But I don't really have any problem with smoke preventing my from seeing targets. I use the Lyman 230gr rn bullet for th emost part now but the Lee truncated cone bullet works great as well. I have shot about 20000 of them. And since I don't clean my guns or care how dirty they are that is not a problem either. Really I brush the bore and clean under the ejector from time to time. They only time I use jacketed or plated bullets is for big matches and I am starting to rethink that.
