  1. I think trying to swap it for an XDm in 40 would be an excellent idea - have you had the trigger worked over? Installed a narrower front sight? (Both things I did on my XDm, which I really liked.) Other than the major v. minor, if you run the XDm well, I'm not sure there's that much reason to change - at least, below M.
  2. I realize getting it packaged could be tricky, but some type of small squeeze tube/syringe, which could be kept in a range bag, would be handy
  3. I would call Andrews Leather, and see if he could make something - he's making a holster for my compensated single-stack, which is longer than normal. Or, call Brandon, and see if he knows someone.
  4. I'm another person who'd love a 10 shot 327 mag on an N frame- it's a lovely cartridge.
  5. Very few shooters, myself certainly included, approach the limits of their own ability. Frankly, I'm not sure any shooter approaches those limits, rather a few may have reached the limit of what people think about shooting, at this time. (EG, Jerry Miculek, in slow motion, appears to take a great deal of time between shots) Until you are approaching that limit, I doubt the platform will really matter.
  6. I would order some holsters ahead of time for it as well... And now I'm thinking a sight tracker carry gun would be quite nice... In a 38 super commander length, with some green CT grips...
  7. I think the dedicated page is a great idea - FB advertising may also be a good idea. Should be fairly cheap to try, at least.
  8. I'm 6'4" and 250, and also looking for a new vehicle, as my FJ started irritating my back - and I really like my FJ - I may just swap the drivers seat out but I will have to mess w some airbags to do that. Tundras have very little head room, and are the same price as a Dodge Ram - which is a dang nice truck - the Ram is also a bit short on head room, but the limited the dealer lent me over night w air suspension is a very impressive vehicle - and can get good mileage w either the diesel or the V6. (We just bought a stripper V6 as a work truck)
  9. I would say STI and Les Baer - personally, custom guns are worth it to me, but they both seem to be good production guns , IMO.
  10. I've been shooting for about 3 years, and there've been 2 NDs, resulting in injuries, so far, on days I've shot - and a couple guys have needed their meds, etc. (Mostly, they just needed to get out of the sun.) Would it seem too odd to tag a range bag with name, blood type, allergies, meds, etc? In off-roading circles, its pretty common to identify where the med kits are, etc.
  11. I think, rather than limiting mag capacity or number of reloads, limit how many rounds you can have on you? At least for me, I carry 3 reloads if I carry a SS but two if I carry Tupperware - it's about balancing it on my belt. I know I have mentioned this before - and it would take some significant price breaks from the manufacturer, but using 3D targets with old T-Shirts over them, and scoring off the vital zone inserts would be an excellent idea - maybe on your classifier stages, to keep the cost down?
  12. I'm very fond of my 4" 625. Inordinately so, really.
  13. I always suggest GLOCKs - if nothing else, they hold their resale well/can always work well as a car gun, etc. A tuned M&P is a great gun, but I've seen far too much variation in S&W's production to recommend them for a beginner - although my new G20 won't group worth a darn either , so GLOCKs can have issues as well. My XDm 5.25s are my favorites, ESP w the PRP trigger, and they group well for plastic - but I still had one group much better than another.
  14. How important is the particular breathing style? It is very different/opposite to the breathing we do in yoga.
  15. I have a .100 front sight with the factory rear on mine
  16. Esther, how "tightly wound" are you? Obviously, I have no where near the expertise of some of the folks on this thread, but, paired with your feelings about "hosing", is letting go something you struggle with?
  17. As usual, I took the exchange students working for me shooting. One of them goes to school near London, and really took to the whole "Zen and Shooting" bit - I know the UK is a bit hard on us, but if any of y'all know of a group that would be willing to help a lovely young woman further her skills, I would appreciate the referral.
  18. I took some young women shooting, and one if them put her index finger in front, and found it much easier to support my open gun in that fashion. (Open guns are great for new shooters, IMO)
  19. I decided to try to have it fixed, rather than sell it off. I have Tripp mags for my Benny gun, should I try other ones?
  20. IMO, production should be our "NASCAR ." Make it more about the factory models, and less about individual shooters preferences - but I think there should be a healthy minimum of a qualifying model available for sale. And, if not already, perhaps a weight cap to keep them into more along the weight of duty/carry guns.
  21. At some point, you may have to try quite a few platforms and divisions. I like shooting open, or production, but I almost always shoot open . I would keep one pretty close to your carry gun - eg, I get trigger freeze pretty easy when shooting something other than my open gun, if I haven't shot it in awhile.
  22. OK so brass is getting tossed up and forward, with occasional light strikes.
  23. Its factory ammo - running 500 rounds through this thing will be annoying - wouldn't it be more cost effective, overall, to have a smith go over it? It also seems very heavily sprung...
