  1. Tripp Research. The rounds won't fully go into the chamber, when its being fired. It will feed OK manually. I've probably run about 150 rounds through it, so far.
  2. It fails to fully go into battery, on a regular basis. Is anyone familar w. Kimber's customer service? Is there a decent 'smith in the Coastal Carolina area that I would be better off taking it to?
  3. What do y'all use for a... Trigger bar? It would correlate to a trigger bow in a 1911. The hole in mine seems to be over-sized - I bought a Hening replacement to try to stop the trigger from being able to wobble outside of the trigger guard - but even the replacement one we got in from Numrich still had an oversized hole - is the only real option to braze and drill?
  4. In a business, confidentiality makes sense - I'm not sure that it makes much sense in a sport-related charity. I am aware that there is considerable expense in sending out mailers to all members - perhaps some kind of official forum or email list or announcement section on the website would be more sufficient.
  5. Love God, love yourself, love others, (Its love your neighbor, as yourself, not more than) and rejoice in your blessings. At a certain age/points in life, I think people, intensely, feel a longing for family. Barring that, can you be proud of what you did that day - its doesn't have to be something great, but, did you, in some way, contribute on the side of good against the side of evil. A simple act of doing a simple job well, and not being slack in your actions, helps. So does being kind, and aware, etc.
  6. IDPA, honestly, probably has the most new shooters/is the easiest way to start. SC is great, but, IMO, too often we tell new shooters, "Draw, and Fire", and they start trying to go faster than they can go, safely, due to the, perceived, peer pressure of being so much slower than the more advanced competitors. Now, my personal inclination is to say, "Open, in UPSPA, since it's where you'll want to be, eventually..." But, other opinions may differ...
  7. Kimber Pro Carry, finally became more intelligent and switched to a G17.
  8. Yes, it should be possible for all the shooters to make the shot, in some fashion - but that height can be a disadvantage is just part of the sport - almost every port I've encountered has been too short for me to easily shoot out of.
  9. I think there are some SA attorneys on here - I know I shoot USPSA with one, regularly - not sure if he does real estate work though. Don might know someone - if you need a Houston attorney, I should be able to find one for you. (I have been up to speed on estate or real estate law in far too long to help - and I'm in SC until the Fall...)
  10. I had my audiologist make mine - I'd be a bit more comfortable going that route.
  11. I have an Al framed VIP, which I had converted to 38 Super. Very nice gun, and I'm quite happy with it.
  12. Have you considered Five Finger shoes? I'm very fond of mine, and have never felt more stable in any shoe, than in those. (Of course, I also started Ashtanga yoga about the same time as I started wearing Five Fingers.)
  13. I took last year off, just about. Didn't really miss it, aside from certain things. I really enjoy shooting some matches, others get a bit dull. Perhaps try something different - revolver, production, open, etc. Or, take a break, maybe focus on running/yoga/something which may eliminate whatever physical barriers could have been hindering you.
  14. Lovely guns - I have a few PSPs. And, I agree, the ideal CCW design. They are a bit heavy.
  15. It's an interesting idea, but production, as it's laid out now, should become our NASCAR, as it is the closest to "race on Sunday, sell on Monday."
  16. I'd say an STI VIP, unless you wear glasses. (I have rather poor eye sight, and after a friend had me try, I realized I can still aim w.o. glasses w. a laser.) If you do wear glasses, I'd suggest an Al framed commander for EDC. Rather comfortable to carry, and the same operation.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us6WDWnlT8M#t=111 Based on firefighters, but seems like it would carry over.
  18. There have been times when I thought a 6 O'Clock hold would be better than a 12 - those M series look like they might work very well for that - they seem like they would be rather difficult to use w a. 12
  19. A) Will they run on 38 Super, or will I have to get super comp brass? Should I order a Gold Team to start, or some other model, and send it off to be built into an open gun? If so, which model, and to whom should I send it? C) If possible, I would like a blued one - pretty sure I want to have it fully engraved by Gouse after its built - I've been wanting fully engraved competition guns for awhile, for some reason...
  20. I'm ordering the trigger bits from Henning to get the slop out, but I mainly intend this as a carry gun. 1) Are there any replacement grips which are as thick as the rubber ones? I like the shape, feel, etc, just not crazy about the rubber. 2) any holster recommendations? Ideally a Raven style kydex ? 3) tritium front sight? 4) has anyone tried fitting the CZ crimson trace grips on a Witness? 5) I am considering buying a second slide to have it milled for a slide ride red dot - any suggestions there? (I only have I-net access on my cell right now, so my apologies if a more thorough search would have answered my questions.)
