  2. Wow, you just described my Dillon 1050 feeder perfectly! IMO, Dillon could learn a lot from the Hornady feeder. Technically, I guess it would be the collator. In tens of thousands the Hornady has never dropped an upside down case, never. The Dillon used to drop at least one every 500. Putting the Hornady plate in helped and to be honest, I don't know why. They look practically identical. The Dillon will also jam up when the case should drop. The white plastic insert helped but sure didn't fix it. Again, the Hornady plate has also helped that. Next I'm going to take that funnel out while using the Hornady plate and see what happens. If that doesn't get it to 100%, I'm going to take a long, hard look and see if an adapter can be fabricated to use the Hornady on the Dillon. A upside down case locks a 1050 up and is a bit of a pain to clear when you're cranking along.
  3. They're just 1/8" metal rod of your choice such as drill rod, music wire, etc. You can make a bunch cheap.
  4. Oooohhhhh SEV.... He likes to play! We always miss him he can't come. And I'm sure he'd like to play! And yes, I busted out The Replacements on your azz! LOL! Very fitting IMO. You'll be thinking of it long after I've healed. Good luck in Manitoba bud!
  5. If I don't do that again it'll still be too soon but to paraphrase... Pain fades, glory is forever! Oh, and I'll bring the sTvi again next month. I had it with me but didn't get a chance to tell you. If you're really nice... Maybe, just maybe I'll even let you touch it!
  6. You guys put on a great match yesterday. The stages easily surpassed the Area :cough: match stages! These were fun, freestyle stages. There were a variety of ways to shoot them, risk vs. reward stage planning, enough reactive targets to keep you on your toes but not so many that resetting them got tedious, etc, etc! It probably doesn't hurt any that it was the best match I've shot this year in terms of my performance either! And I'm glad I gave you something to talk about at dinner. I couldn't come up with another fast way to get under that wall and decided to just go for it! I screwed the first part of the stage up a bit and was slower than I know I could have been but that went exactly according to plan! I landed right where I wanted to. Thanks to everyone involved in putting on this match. Chris, you missed a good one! Ryan
  7. Her first step is to go to an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam and discuss the issues with him/her. Especially if she is close to your age and double especially if it's been anything over a year since her last exam. There could be an underlying cause that needs to be detected and now. There are also other factors to take into consideration if she has recently seen her doctor, discussed this with him/her and determined there are no medical issues such as currently wears or just started wearing glasses or contact lenses such as internal lens reflection, a change in prescription, optical zone size of contact lenses and some others. Clue us in on current optical correction and maybe we can come up with some more specific suggestions, but PLEASE, PLEASE see sentence one!
  8. I still like to break out my IBM Model M! Buckling springs baby! Lately I've been hacking on a Cherry board with browns and I like my blue board wearing vintage double shots!
  9. Happy Birthday Steve! I turned 40 last Friday and so far it hasn't been too bad. LOL!
  10. Or give him a call. That way you can discuss exactly what you have and what you'll need.
  11. And that would save those of us with 30/31 round easily gauge legal mags money how? IMO, no capacity limits. Just set an easy to implement measuring procedure, be it "push as hard as you can" or it "has to fall in", whatever. I don't care but this is USPSA, not IPSC. Going backwards doesn't help anybody.
  12. I run mine clean and dry. I don't know if that's right but anything on it and it attracts crud and doesn't move smoothly.
  13. The breech face on a .45 slide will be too wide to hold a 9/38 rim. You most likely wouldn't be able to get any extractor tension. I'm sure there are also other issues.
  14. Ok, thanks Matt. On the cap end on mine the inner hole in the cap is about .015" bigger than the shaft. That's where the vast amount of slack in mine on that side seems to be. The handle side has a lot of movement / slop in it also but I haven't taken the shaft out to measure that side, mainly because I don't know how and can't be without my press in the middle of the match season.
  15. "Small screw on the plastic end cap"? Do you have a RL1050? Or is that something on the right side I haven't found yet? Thanks!
  16. Has anybody removed the left side parts and taken measurements? I had mine out last night for a cleaning and lubing and found that the bearing OD to press bore had .001" to .003" difference so that isn't too bad. The cover / sleeve part that the screw holds in is .999" OD and the bearing spec is 1.000". Again, pretty good BUT there's about .010" to .015" slop between the shaft and the ID of that sleeve! The right side appears to be as bad or even worse. Dillon, if you're reading this can you please post what the parts (cover/sleeve, shaft) should be? I'm willing to spend a few bucks on bearings but the amount of slop between the shaft and sleeve I don't think it would help. I think one of my other parts, most likely the shaft, slipped past QC isn't any good.
  17. Also know as the "Tactical Crane" at Wayne County Chris.
  18. Seriously, didn't you get enough tight tough shots at 5? Edit: punctuation
  19. What kind of issues? I know there's a pretty good smith in the Akron area which isn't that far. I'd guess there's somebody a bit closer though.
  20. Interesting plan on the indoor stage Chris!
  21. Did your check get cashed? It took quite a while until I got anything back saying I was in but they cashed my check pretty quick so I wasn't worried about it after that.
