  1. Those catches are designed that way to be ambidextrous. Just take it off, flip and reinstall. As long as you have the new style mags with catch notches on both sides you should be good to go. I had to specifically order a grip that isn't ambi.
  2. I had to change powders with my CZ 85 to use heavy lead or moly. Solo 1000 worked awesome. I had tumbling with anything else i tried. I could shoot Montana Gold 147's with anything without issues.
  3. This was a great match as it has always been since the first time I shot it. Thanks to everyone involved! We started just after 8 am and were done by 1:30 pm. 9 stages, 240+ rounds plus chrono in less than 5 1/2 hours. Thanks again to EVERYONE in putting on this match!
  4. Or they aren't taking a chance on receiving a stolen gun?
  5. Before Christmas? Its been going on for at least 5 years by me. Never caused any issues or addrd time here.
  6. Just out of curiosity, why don't you like the rails? I had a Jones built gun and it was butter smooth.
  7. Welcome from northeast Ohio!
  8. I've burnt over 15K in my 9mm open gun at major with zero failures. I can't comment on how hard they are compared to Federal but I think they are softer than Winchester small rifle.
  9. Alan, 10 to 1 your problem is internal heat, specifically processor heat if they come back to normal when you wave them around to cool them off. It's my understanding that the Nooks weren't really meant to run software like PS so the extra load on the processor coupled with the heat of being in the sun is most likely causing the instability. Another device that doesn't tolerate overheating is the iPhone. They'll actually display a device overheated message and won't do anything until they cool. Considering you have to root them anyway, I'd look into downclocking them a bit from 800 MHz to say 600 on one of your units and try it. The processor should run cooler, you'd get longer battery life if you need it and I don't think you'd notice the difference. Just my .02
  10. Sharp looking gun you've got there! Glad I could help get it together. Again, you're very welcome! Now, go enjoy!
  11. Practice (unloaded) a lot and it isn't that hard. Don't try and do it one handed. Pinch the hammer between your thumb and weak hand trigger finger, pull it back slightly, pull the trigger with your trigger finger and hold it back, gently lower hammer. Lots of Production division shooters are doing the same thing and there are few ND's.
  12. You and Jim should be floating in flattery by now Matt!
  13. The 4-40 will seem right especially if the mount is still on and you're only filling a couple holes. With the mount off they'll wiggle around quite a bit more. I think I have a couple 5-40 lying around at home. If you'd like, pm me your address and I'll mail you one to try. since the topic is screw tightening................I might question SLM's input, I mean WTH the bolt in the avatar has been getting twisted for a very long time now.........sorry I couldn't pass on that. LMAO!

  15. Years ago I heard the same thing from a gun shop owner about any gun that didn't come from a "real gun shop". I agree with you, why would any manufacturer intentionally put out a lower quality item? When it breaks nobody is going to care where it came from, what they are going to remember is whose name is stamped on the side.
  16. There's a simple solution in my opinion. Continuing education and testing. Every year to keep your license you must attend a class including both book and road instruction and testing. If you don't pass, you don't get to renew. Many professions and even hobbies require such evaluation. Both my career and one of my hobbies does and believe me, driving a vehicle is way WAY more dangerous than anything I do at work.
  17. That's exactly what mine does Modex. If Brian says it's good to go that's good enough for me! Thanks Brian!
  18. At least this seems fairly "normal". Maybe Dillon will chime in and let us know exactly what is going on.
  19. Mine does that but probably not quite that much. I don't know where it moves. I just try to remember not to push it. It's kind of a disconcerting feeling but doesn't seem to affect anything. Mine isn't new though.
  20. Yep! I've always thought right handed guns were built for left handed people!
  21. Awesome Brian! There's at least a couple of us from "Prop breakers, Inc" looking forward to your matches. See you guys in a few weeks! Ryan
  22. Please do. I was around for one that didn't last 20 minutes and Trij was less than easy to deal with. The owner finally got it replaced under warranty but it was no small task.
  23. A lot? I don't know about that but I've got similar reactions at indoor ranges. I'd guess you're on the right track when you say they've never heard of (or don't) reload. They're kids after all. They most likely hit Wally World, bought some ammo and went out to have some fun. That's my guess anyway.
  24. I was CRO on the stage, and will be happy to offer insight on how the decision was made, but I would like to see some opinions first. If I was RMing the match, I'd want to see that clarified prior to first shot -- but that may just be me..... My definition of a great RM performance is if the RM doesn't have to do anything during the match but calibrate steel, and maybe look at a few close calls on targets.... The marks are obviously outside the shooting area and the WSB says heels (plural) touching marks. I guess you could be standing on the fault lines and have your heels touch the marks if your ankles are freaky flexible but there would be no way to have one foot inside the fault lines and have "heels touching marks" when the marks are outside that I can come up with.
  25. Dave, what drills would you recommend? Thanks!
