  5. I use 3.8 grains of Clays with Montana Gold fmj for my wife's G34 and it works really well. Very soft. George
  6. I have a small hobby vise that uses suction cups to hold it to the table. I put a two large sharpies in it ( different colors ) and spin each cartridge and end up with contrasting lines all the way around the cartridge. The only trick is to angle each sharpie so both lines will work at the same time. I also wear latex gloves to keep the colors off my hands. Mine is easy to see on the ground. George
  7. I have short, fat fingers and have never met a mag release I can reach without a major gun shift. I have gone to the "offside" mag release where I release the mag with the index finger of my right (strong) hand. It works really great for me, although I still have to shift my hand just a little. An added benifit is that your finger will be out of the trigger guard everytime. I had a little trouble finding one for my STI, but I found one. thanks, George
  8. I have the bag I take to the match with those items I need or think I am going to need. Gun, ammo, hearing/eye protection, brass bag, etc, etc. Then I have the bag I take to the match that I hope I don't need. Tools, parts, gloves, knee pads, etc. Then I have the bag I take to the range for practice with targets, pasters, stapler, timer, etc etc etc. I think I need a large bag on wheels and someone to wheel it. thanks, George
  9. During any activity, the more you care about time the less effective you will be. WOW ! That is an eye opener

  19. I have the problem. In my case I think I was distracted by other thoughts going into the stage, maybe going into the match, and was never in the program to start with. What I am trying to do is clear my mind and get into a ZONE before the stage/ match. 2 weeks ago I did great. Last week I was not there. I don't know the answer, but wanted to let you know that other people have the same problem. George

  21. Hello from Texas, and welcome to the forum. George
  22. For years I used thin grips and a short trigger on my 1911s because of small hands - short fingers. I expected a problem when I bought my STI so I put a short trigger in and some grip tape and I am good to go. It is a little bit of a learning curve, but now I am putting thicker grips on my 1911s because they don't feel right. If I had tried one before I bought it I probably would have talked myself out it, but I really wanted one. thanks, George
  23. Welcome, and you can pick up some great buys on slightly used equipment from the members here also. George
  24. I use IMR 4756 and Montana Gold 124 grn JHP with a .38 super major load with no problems at all. I have not tried it for 9mm as I use Clays because thats what I started using and it works great. thanks, George
