  1. No Eric did not respond to the Paypal claim. BTW, I take full responsibility of my choices here and am glad Paypal refunded in my favour. Sad it did not turn out differently since I do like the Tru Grip. I use it on my Glock 26 and think the one I have can last me another year : ) so I have time to evaluate.
  2. Against my better judgement I went ahead and ordered some TruGrips. Long story short. No communication and no product after 2 months and I decided to get paypal involved and got my money back. A shame as I really loved the product.
  3. Ah I am glad I am not the only one.. I am not stalking you I swear.
  4. I was trying to find the differences between the two generations of M2 3Gs and I must say, that was a pretty awesome review. Thank you for taking the time to post it.
  5. Dawson adding free shipping to their services is the best decision ever, heaven sent. In the past I would hold off on purchases because I did not want to pay for shipping just for one front sight. I would either have to wait until I could amass a large order or just lose interest in the project. Nowadays I can order without feeling guilty, not only that, nowadays I go to Dawson's website first, not just for sights but pretty much anything. Great service and free shipping. Can't beat that. Just another customer that's very happy with your new policy. Please keep it up.
  6. Not to be a wiseass.. just being practical : ) but asking what sights are best for ME (ie. YOU) for a certain application is like asking "Which kind of Rock music is best?" or "Which red wine will I like with lamb shank?" You are going to be blue in the face by the time you hear everyone's opinion, and another guy will be happy to let you know what goes well with his palette, age, sexual orientation, covert tactical application or magical ability :). I have tried Dawsons, Sevigny, 10-8, Warren Tactical, Heinies, even Novaks. I ended up with a Dawson adjustable black rear / black front. I actually prefer narrow rear notches at .130 and narrow fronts. Which goes against a lot of things people say. In the end I can honestly say that it does not matter. You may eventually develop a preference as you grow in experience, but you WILL get used to and grow to like ANY sight you choose to practice with. A shooting buddy of mine made Master Class in GSSF with STOCK SIGHTS, and simply does not care, he really puts a lot of "gamers" to shame. I assure you though.. if you want to put in the time and have the interest evaluating sights can be fun. I did it for 2 years until I came to the conclusion above.
  7. Amen! I cannot agree more. I feel that "suffering" with the Glock has helped me improve as a shooter. Invest in yourself, not the hardware.
  8. I have both as well and think both Charlie and Daniel are friendly 'regular' guys who are sincerely concerned about their product and customer satisfaction. At least in my experience! Have you tried texting Daniel? I don't like texting "business" but if I recall, Daniel encourages it and gets back lighting fast. I do hope DK is OK and life simply got busy. OK i reread the OP, sorry, I love to hear myself type so much that I neglected to remember that you mentioned that his number was disconnected! : O If I may ask, what was the issue with the DK?
  9. I was in the same boat. Swallowed my pride and kept at it. But the added benefits were immediate and priceless. No need to clean the gun - have enough time to load ammo, learn a new language, or have my nails done! And no longer was I a slave to a $3000 pistol. : )
  10. Don't have much to add to what has been suggested already. It's very good advice and was similar to what was suggested to me when I started. I was ready to dismiss the Glock as "a horrible gun" but glad I persevered like you. Learning to shoot it has been one of the most rewarding personal experiences. Just another vote for an OEM - connector and different sights. For me it was a thinner front post and narrower rear. I'm a fan of Dawson's. Hope you keep at it and see some rewarding results that you're satisfied with.

    Glock 17M

Oh good lord. The sum of all fears! The thought of it gives me a headache.

    Glock 17M

I love that they removed the finger grooves but the drastic change of inner parts seems like lunacy. Hopefully they did not change the trigger mechanism to match the Glock 42 and 43. But if the revised firing pin safety plunger and single pin is any indication they probably did. Cross-pistol modularity and sharing of parts was what appealed to me, and this seems like a step in the wrong direction. Maybe the recall was because they installed the slide lock backwards? : )
  13. I realize I am grave-digging here, but when I was originally researching the issue of the Gen 3 slide over the Gen 4 frame, I wish some one would have responded, so I am doing so now as a public service. I have put a Glock 17, Gen 3 slide over a Gen 4 frame and put at least 3400 documented rounds through it. No ill effects I can detect. Frame does not look like it has taken any damage (comparing the internals to a new Gen 4 frame). That is to say, I am NOT condoning you attempt this, or even remotely saying it is safe for YOUR Glock. cpa5oh, PM sent for a copy of that ruling letter for what its worth anyways. I would like to run a Gen 4 over a Gen 4 frame in production also. As you say it is less work to set up a new slide when you have a Gen 3 slide you are confident performs.
  14. Thanks for the suggestion guys. None of the other USA sites mention it so never thought to ask.
  15. Not sure if this will work for you but I have read that turning the screw around so the knurled head is facing the (inside) belt keeps it out of the way and also has the added benefit of making the pouch legal in games that do not allow an exposed adjustment knob. Just a suggestion.
  16. Thanks for taking the time to respond Polymer. I don't appreciate the fact that he is not communicative, and hate to reward such behaviour. However its good to know that he is still alive and actually delivers. In the end I suppose that is all that matters and your experience is a hard data point. I mean when was the last time you waited 10 years for a custom pistol(s)? Oh yeah I am! : )
  17. I was just thinking about this the other day! Polymer, do you have an idea when you placed your last order was it 2 months or a year ago? The last time I ordered from Eric was 2013 and that was the first time I got a weird feeling about him. I did eventually get the order but it took a while and without any communication. Surprising since years prior he was lightning fast in delivering, also very friendly on email. He makes a good product and I do not mind waiting, but don't want to order if he's not even alive anymore and everyone seems to be just going thru paypal to get refunds. The longer you wait tho the less likely paypal will honour a claim.
  18. I would choose the 1/2" but if you decide you want to try another spacer for your education, you can always find the spacers online from DIY kydex holster supply stores for relatively cheap, or if you have an old timey hardware store, they may have them sold as "nylon spacers". The big box hardware stores may not have them. Just an option since I was going through the same thoughts as you recently.
  19. I've been interested in getting a set of Double Alpha Academy (cheaper) Racers for use with Glock magazines. However from what I've read you need to modify one of the rear spacers to make it work. I am pretty handy but would prefer to not mess with things if I can help it since I have messed up stuff in the past. (Read: Race master insert.. UGH! that was an expensive mistake that I am still irked about it.) Sure, the inserts are pretty cheap for the mag pouches but I get really annoyed when I mess up, paying extra shipping for replacement parts, or buying extra parts only not to use them. (rant off). Long story short, is there a place to get the DAA racers in the USA that include Glock inserts? Dawson precision's website says they will provide a modified extra insert for Glock if requested, and they are the best deal in the USA with free shipping, but when I called them about it their answer was "Oh you can just do it yourself.. just file it down." That was not what was written on their website, and not the answer I was looking for, but Dawson has taken care of me in the past, and I do like the company very much so I didn't make a stink about it. Getting them direct from DAA I am convinced comes with the 3rd Glock insert, but with shipping being high I am waiting for a coupon or sale of some sort. Thanks for your time reading my bedtime story : )
  20. Same here.. ordered Sept. 7, got tired of waiting after phonecalls and emails with no response, and filed a credit card despute on 10/18. Magically or perhaps by coincidence I get a shipping notification on 10/24. Grips arrived today. Gotta call the CC again to reverse the dispute.
  21. Great thread : ) thanks for sharing the information. I have already bought the FOs but will run it through its course to determine what works for me. I must say that switching back to irons from FOs would not have crossed my mind on its own.
  22. unless they're totally frankenstien'ed you can probably jus tsell them and get you some 773s.. I am sure the demand is there.
  23. As was previously mentioned, a friend at the range mixed in some large primers in his 45 loads a year or so ago. The firing pin was not strong enough to detonate the rounds. Made for some very colourful words when the heat was on.
  24. There are some very good points here - and backed up pretty well. In any social gathering there has to be some sort of ettiquette that must be followed. If one is going "strictly ballroom" then dress for the occasion. It's polite and shows a level of respect. On the flipside, a level of tolerance is not so bad when dealing with people of other gun cultures. That may sound very touchy feely and PC, but I just know who my allies and enemies are. Last thing we need though, is to turn on our own and throw out blanket statements saying camo people military fanboys are freaks and do not belong with 'us'. Not scaring off the people who are "on the fence" so to speak is a very good argument. Honestly tho I would rather steer a "mall ninja" towards safe firearms use and have him promote a good image (still wearing camo on the street sure why not - he's already interested, makes my job easier - it does no one any good to alienate him) than having to sell a car to a guy (ie. educate tolerance) who's teeter tottering - at most you'll probably just make them a neutral rather than a strict anti - which in this day and age is pretty good. Hopefully I can do both. I guess what upsets me is the mentality similar to how some politically manipulated hunters would say "Military style rifles should not be in the hands of civilians." Black guns are evil - so who cares if legislation bans them as long as I can keep to my own. Cheesy as it sounds, in the end we have to work together for our culture (not just our 'sport').
  25. I have to respectfully disagree. While on occations my friends and I have a guilty pleasure of making fun of such people too, I think we should never judge a book by its cover. We are no better than the knee jerk reaction gun grabbers if we automatically ASSUME someone wearing a trenchcoat or molle gear to a match is a serial killer in the making, and do not want to be involved. If someone wants to wear tactical gear let 'em. Same as if someone wants to have a gold rig let em! Hell if someone wants to wear a NINJA GETUP why not. As long as its safe. This is the land of the free right? What matters is the guys respect and safety for the sport. If not we should teach them. If they don't follow the first time, only then kick them out. I have been VERY thankful for all the wise and patient people I have come across who've taken me aside when I was younger and also improved my skills. Buddy Fuentes beat me to the punch on that one. The gun grabbers don't care WTF you're wearing. They think anyone with a gun is an evil dumbass that should be supressed.. for the children.
