Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I was interested in getting back into some USPSA matches & looking at Garand Power and Q5. Buddy of mine is getting out of pistol shooting has a like new (one 50 round box of Aquila 124 FMJ through a Canik TP9 SFX with a Vortex Viper included for $500. Is it worth taking a run at it with this. I'll never be Ntl Champ, just want to re-engage.
  2. You've summed it up well. Every time I take it out of case rack slide. Realize it is a truly "excellent pistol". Would probably kick myself. Thanks

    Best intentions?

Has anyone here attended a USPSA match, saw some competitors shooting open with a CS TS40 (thought "Wow" that gun can shoot - I can do that) and jumped in with both feet? I did and have not been to a match since. I really like/love the pistol, my absolute favorite of the 3 that I own. Just more of a rifle (small bore, mid & LR) guy (older - can shoot prone rifle but running & up/down with old college athlete parts NG) that had a sudden impulse for a semi-hot rod pistol. Mine has the factory 40 and a 9mm barrel and mags - what should I do with it? Lost in too many toys world and need help with direction. Help a lost CZ brother.
  4. Might have to try some 115s, all I had in bin were 124, 135, & 147gr.
  5. I'm in the old fart category, not any particular pistol that and have started to like the Glock just fine now - thanks to some good feedback . Trigger time gets a little better each time to the range and it's in my pistol bag every weekend now. There is a definite difference in hold & trigger when I pick up the CZ SP01 Shadow. I like them both and respect their differences. However, shooting and placing shots better with the G19 ALL GOOD - fun to shoot too. No $3000 pistol, that's more like my Palma prone rifle cost.
  6. Just an update and thanks to all who offered assistance. I have been practicing hold and trigger pull since I last posted and have installed set of TruGlo Pro I-Dots, polished trigger parts, and 3.5lb connector. Same loads at same distance, with more practice, better sight picture and trigger. Getting used to it really helps. Thanks to all!
  7. If/when you folks install a new trigger and sights on a G19, what brand and types are most highly recommended?
  8. It is/will be my carry pistol. I will try the items mentioned. It did get better as I shot it.
  9. 50-60ft outdoors, standing 5-6" groups. My sight picture was ok-not great. Trigger squeeze and hold probably my biggest issue. Shooting 125gr Zero FPFMJ loads (my reloads - med power factor). Shooting left and low, by the fourth full mag things seemed to be a little better. So all this most likely me and unfamiliarity with the 19. Advice appreciated - Thanks
  10. First Glock in a decade + and got a Glock 19 Gen 4 FDE in trade on a rifle trade. It has 50 rounds though it (last owner). My question: My only pistols to this point are CZ TS 40 and a CZ Shadow Target II. Shot the Glock for the first time today and was underwhelmed with accuracy. My main competition is Palma and Small Bore prone rifle matches. Any thoughts or recommendation on accuracy improvements? New/Old Glock owner needs help. Thanks in advance for any advice!
  11. Even one of my High Master Prone shooter friends fired my CZ TS with bushing and he said "holy cra* that is really accurate I may have to shoot my pistols again". I'm very pleased with both bushings I purchased for my TS & Sp01 Target2. Unfortunately an addicting hobby!!! David at CGW definitely has amazing customer service!
  12. Just makes me shake my head. I will say that the X10 has made my groups in ALL 3 guns significantly smaller. Great part. Go all USPSA (if an option) and don't look back. You will learn to live without the cookies +1
  13. My TS with 40S&W & 9mm barrels were both more accurate with the new bushing that was an easy install, lined up perfectly. My Shadow Target II was also more accurate, it's fairly new and getting right loads sorted out for it - groups definitely tightened up.
  14. Yes, my factory TS bushing looked like that.
  15. Did you get your stock bushing removed?
