  1. I usually carry a couple of extra $20s in my pocket. Never hurts to "tip" the Match officials if needed.
  2. I shoot a 125.1 pf in IDPA and a 165.1 in IPSC. I like a little cushion.
  3. Unless something has changed Wilson barrels are made by Storm Lake. I have had very good luck with the LWD barrels - some prototypes were sent to me for testing. At 1/2 the cost of a KKM they are a true bargin. Most barrels will take a little load development to get the best groups. OTOH I have had very good luck with the stock Glocks barrels. My 2 G35s and 2 G34s will all group under 1 1/2" at 25 yds. I do not consider this to be a very good group. I was trying out a new powder. This was shot at 25 yds through one of my G35s with a stock barrel.
  4. I handled one today, along with a regular G21. There is a difference, but not as great as a full blown grip reduction. Glock removed material from the channel area and a little from the front to rear dimension just below the beavertail. The ambi mag release is much more complicated that the G21 releaase. The G21SF mags will swap between both guns. The G21 mag will not work in the SF. You might be able to make them work by cutting a slot. Don't think I will be buying one just yet.
  5. Ivan, I have noticed that the Armscor/RIA prices are starting to creep up. Case in point is the new RIA Match .45. My cost at Acusport is like $545. That is getting real close to the cost of a basic Kimber. The Match does have an adjustable rear and FO front. If that gun had a dealer cost of $450-$475 then I would be interested. Not at $545. Retail will be in the $625-$650 range. One can buy a Kimber for that. Not knocking Armscor, I have a RIA Tactical, but they are not in the same class as my Kimbers. Is this an exchange rate issue?
  6. There is nothing wrong with a 200 gr SWC for Single Stack.
  7. You might want to look at the Buffer Technologies mag well.
  8. Where's my sample? I need to send the G36 Tactical back to Glock.
  9. Well you could just use 10 round .40 single stack mags. That gives you 10+1. I always want to start a stage with as many rounds as I can get in my gun - 10+1. I hate to say this in public, BUT you can always dump a round. There I have said it. Besides those two guns are "gamer guns" not real manly guns like a .45ACP downloaded to a 130 PF.
  10. He does not need to change his screen name. The STI will be for sale in less than a year when he realizes he shot the Glock just as well.
  11. Do you get little "smilies" on the case? If so take a Dremel with a cratex tip and put a small radius on the bottom edge of the chamber. OTOH I have never found a reason to buy an aftermarket barrel for a Glock. The stock Glock barrel will feed anything you throw at it. All of my competition Glocks will easily group under 1 1/2" at 25 yds.
  12. BTW the Ameriglo FO front is .165" x .100" x .062" dot in either green or red. I like it a lot better than some of the others mentioned.
  13. You can order directly from Ameriglo. I have replaced all of my sights on my competition Glocks with the Ameriglo rear. I am a little different than some shooters in that I don't like the thin front sights. I use the large dot HiViz molded front with the Ameriglo rear. I like the looks of the thin Ameriglo front FO. It's just not for me.
  14. Yes, that is the start position. In the match you start with your pants down. Here is the Scenario: You are seated on the pot when several bad guys break into your house. Stand, turn and retrieve your gun from the top of toilet. While retreating engage bad guys in tac sequence and priority. Pants must stay around ankles.
  15. Here you go. The Ameriglo sights are IMO the best value in sights. Don't get hung up on the high dollar sight sets. These are just as good for much less money. You might like a fiber optic front also. Ameriglo has one of the best FO fronts. BTW the front height is .165". http://www.ameriglo.net/weapon_site/catalog/2007.pdf
  16. I just remove the flare. I do it in two steps - seat then taper crimp. I have stopped using a Lee FCD all together. There is really no reason to use a Lee U/EGW die either. The standard Lee carbide sizing die works just fine.
  17. Are you sure? I thought Florida was a little north of Alabama. Guess what I meant was the parts of NC that would interest me are more north than the parts of TN that would interest me.
  18. There are some things you just have to put up with in Alabama. We hope to be the first in our neighborhood to have indoor plumbing. Gets a little nippy during the winter months.
  19. I would not live any more north than Tennessee or south than Montgomery, Al. Might go as far north as N.C. Don't like temp extremes.
  20. I guess I get a little confused with this mag cleaning obsession during a match. My Glock mags get cleaned about twice a year. Never had a FTF issue with them.
  21. I will be happy to take anyone's Glocked brass. 80% of the brass I reload has been through a Glock. I just use the standard Lee carbide die in my 550. I tried the Lee U/EGW die. It was no better than the standard die. Sure was a lot harder to pull the handle also.
  22. No, I use some of the early ones that look like 9mm followers. I have several that I hoard. The mag bodies are not the newest generation. Not sure how old they are. I will try my follower/spring combo in the new mag bodies to see how many they will hold. The followers are stamped 1028.
  23. I get 20 reloadable and 21+1 to start.
  24. Here's a question for you rule experts. If a bullet hole exceeding two bullet diameters counts as a miss does that hold true if the elongated hole is on a non-threat target. The reason I ask is Audrey had a hit on a NT yesterday. The bullet bounced off a barrel and hit the NT at an angle great enough to exceed two bullet diameters. I scored it as a hit on a NT. Boy did she get mad about that. Her argument was the hole was elongated more than two bullet diameters and it should not count as a hit on NT.
