  1. I don't see a need for a +P .45. The standard .45 Ranger is more than enough.
  2. He needs to learn to reload the 147 gr bullets or buy the 147 gr load from Atlanta Arms. A 147 gr bullet at 875 fps is way softer than factory 115.
  3. I just shot some 147 Precision bullets through my G34. Accuracy was good. No tumble. 3.0 gr of Titegroup OAL 1.140". Odd thing though. The recoil had more snap to it than the 147 Berry bullets. Think I will stick with Berry. The Precision bullets are about $10 per M cheaper than Berry and $12 less than Precision Delta.
  4. I have several of various calibers. Must are unmarked as they were prototypes for testing. IMO they are the best buy in an aftermarket barrel.
  5. I run a 12# spring in my competition guns - major and minor.
  6. I think in many instances poor stage design can lead to rule issues. A strategically placed barrel or two can make cover problems go away. I tend to shoot USPSA matches like I would an IDPA match. I slice the pie and reload from cover if there is any available. It would help my score a lot if I did not do this, but I use IPSC matches as practice for IDPA.

    Barrel Wear?

I have seen Glocks with over 400,000 rounds through them still shooting. My old G35 had over 100,000 rounds through it when sold. It was just as accurate then as it was when new.
  8. I agree. As long as the rules are applied with consistency. 99% of the IDPA matches I shoot have the rules applied the same for all. I am certain there have been exceptions - just like in any other shooting game. I really don't have any major issues with the IDPA rules. There are some I don't like, but can live with. There is one IDPA rule that I ignore. Can anyone guess which one?
  9. Talk about the mountain and mole hill thing. I have SO'd more local matches and sanctioned matches than I can count. I don't recall cover ever being difficult to define. Just SO'd the Alabama match. There was a window in a wall that had an array of targets to engage. During the walk through I instructed the shooters that they could not cross the window opening with an empty gun. Doing so would incur a Procedural. Did not matter if all targets were neutralized. This is not a difficult issue to understand. I hear folks say they don't shoot IDPA because it has too many rules. Has anyone compared the IDPA rulebook to the USPSA book? Can you guess which one looks like it was written by lawyers?
  10. It is done all the time. On a 4 target array we change the middle two. The two outside targets are not changed.
  11. I like this one. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=117862

    Stock Glock Sights

Take a look at the Ameriglo sights. They offer fat and thin fronts along with a very good rear. The rear has the same profile as the Glock fixed sight. They offer the rear with two different notch widths. They cost about half as much as the others.

    New Glock Sights

Or Ameriglo for about half the cost.
  14. Mine runs with just about any mag - Wilson 8 round .45, Metalform 10 mm, Metalform .40, CMC .45. Just to name a few.
  15. Are they in stock or just listed in the catalog?
  16. I have several uppers. My favorite is a 20" Gov't/A1 profile. It is much easier to swing than my 20" HBar. It is what I call my serious gun. No optics, just iron sights. I do like my 16" midlength Del-Ton with a low power scope for games.
  17. I used the U/EGW die briefly. Did not like the hour glass shape it gave my bullets plus the extra effort required to size the case. I went with the standard Lee sizing die and never looked back.
  18. Keep the stock barrel. It is more accurate than you are. I use a 12# Wolf spring. I personally don't like the little thin front sights. The Heinie rear is OK. I like the Novak better. Another good choice is the Ameriglo rear. It is a fraction of the cost. Arredondo pads work well also. I get 21+1 in my mags.
  19. That's odd. My CST Kimber makes weight with a S&A magwell, FLGR and Mag.
  20. I find it much cheaper to "tip" the SO before the stage. Benny, the stages that are shot around here don't go past 200-250 yds. I do agree with you that if you are having to crank the elevation up and down all day then you need a scope with repeatable "clicks". Back in the day when I shot High Power Rifle Silhouette I used the T series Weaver scopes. The clicks never changed with them. I wonder if the 1x3 Weaver has the same system.
  21. You will like the circle plex reticle. The circle is coarse enough that you can use it like a large dot for close targets. Bushnell does a really good job with their glass. I took it out at dusk last night. It was just as bright as some of my high dollar bolt gun scopes.
  22. www.binoculars.com $75 less the Google $10 check out discount. I used it yesterday. So far I like it. I can already see some of the Optic Snobs sneering at it. I can't see buying a scope that costs as much as my AR when a less costly one works just as well for games. As I stated before my serious rifles have iron sights.
  23. Mags fit nicely between my rock hard six pack and belt.
  24. The Bushnell is a true 1X. Pretty darn good scope for the money. The circle plex reticle is very easy to pick up on close targets.
  25. Got the Bushnell scope in yesterday. Optics are very crisp, bright and clear. Big FOV at 1X. Looks to be a true 1X. If not it is real close. Will see how it does next week.
