  1. I really don't give a rat's ass how they do it in Berryville. If it is not in the rule book then it does not matter. Until IDPA takes the time to post a Q&A section on their website or in the Tactical Journal then I go by what's written in the rule book. Rant mode off

    kkm barrel G35

The LWD barrel is not made in China.
  3. Yes, Glock made a limited first run. More to follow. Lots of folks, me included, don't need or want the ambi mag release.

    kkm barrel G35

I have tested numerous barrels including the KKM. IMO the Lone Wolf is just as good at about half the cost. I have always felt the KKM and Barsto barrels were way over priced.
  5. Use a diamond cut off disc to make the cuts in the factory striker. One note of interest. I put a lwt spring in my G21 with the stock striker. I even had the "bad" trigger bar. It never failed to pop a primer. I sure hope Brownells gets more of the lwt strikers.
  6. You can lighten the stock striker, but is kind of a PITA to do. I just use the lightweight steel striker from Brownells. I use CCI and Winchester with equal results. I don't recall ever having a primer fail to pop. My old G35 had over 100,000 rounds through it without any failures. I use the 4# Wolf spring.
  7. When I used the ISMI 13# I would trim 2-3 coils off.

    Ccf Raceframe

They do not appear on the website. If you call they can look them up.

I will send you the catalog number when I get to work. They have 4 each of the G34 and G35 slides.

You will just blow up the frame. The slide is bare. It does not have the large hole in it, nor does it have the beveled front. They can bevel the front for $22. A SS frame with slide might be a pretty interesting combo. Plenty of weight there.

You can buy every single part for a Glock from several suppliers. The Caspian slide costs $199 with a dealer account at Brownells. The LWD barrel is $89.

Brownells has the Caspian SS slides in stock.
  14. The old style mags will work if you order a SF without the ambi mag release. There is a difference in the feel. Not a lot but the grip is smaller.
  15. The speed would be easy to regulate. Put a block under the accelerator pedal. That will limit how far down you can push it.
  16. An extended .45 will work for all.
  17. It does not take a "Rocket Scientist" to figure out which scope a retailer would rather sell. Assume a 15-20% markup. 20% of a $600 scope = $120 profit. 20% of a $65 scope = $13.
  18. That's why I learned to work on my own guns years ago.
  19. And the check is in the mail.
  20. There is something really wrong with the Bushnell scope. I popped clay pigeons at 300 yds this afternoon with it. Let's see $65 vs $600-$700 for the Meopta. I guess I am missing something there. Change? 78' FOV vs 111' for the Meopta. That's about $17 per foot. Pretty expensive feets! I guess I am not sophisticated enough to appreciate the finer things in life.
  21. Up date on the cheap scope issue. A friend of mine sent me a Weaver 1-3 to try. The Bushnell is a much better scope. The optics are far brighter and crisper than the Weaver. The Circle Plex is easier to pick up at close range. The Weaver may have a more durable windage and elevation system. Who knows, time will tell. Does not really matter where I shoot. The targets are never over 200 yds. Looks like holding on the bottom of the circle is good for 300 yds. Have to do more testing to be certain.
  22. I am having some issues with a Lee .223 sizing die. I am getting rounds that will not chamber all the way. Yes, the chambers are clean. I have an old RCBS SB die that works the brass too much. Some rounds look almost belted. Is there a die that is between the two? What are you guys using? The Lee die is adjusted all the way down.
  23. I have not found that to be the case. A 147 at 875 fps is softer and has much less muzzle rise than any 115 factory load I have ever tried.
  24. There are two choices. Get the Eagle in .45 and shoot it in ESP or CDP. I have an ESP load that goes 670 fps with a 200 gr SWC. Second choice is use 9 round .45 single stack mags. You start with 10 in the gun. Matter of fact one could use 8 round .45 mags and not be at a big disadvantage. If you think about it the vast majority of IDPA stages are 17 rounds or less. The average stage is probably less than 14 rounds. BTW there is no "waiting on the slide". That statement is total nonsense. You cannot pull the trigger faster than the gun will cycle. I shoot a G35 in SSP. IMO 9mm is not the way to go. The .40 shoots softer and makes larger holes. It is difficult to see 9mm holes. One thing else to consider - an Eagle in .45 would be difficult to sell. That being said I can't think of a better ESP gun than the Eagle in .45. On occasion I play with one of my Kimber .45s in ESP. In most 50-70 round matches I will pick up 2-4 seconds due to the large hole the 200 gr SWC makes in the target. My wife is going to shoot one of the Kimbers in ESP this weekend.

    Tight Chamber?

    Sounds like too much crimp.
