  1. You guys are really overthinking this. Just use a 2.5# CMC trigger. Mine actually come in a 2 lbs. Use a 5.56 carbine spring and a KynSHOT RB5015HD. My 9mm PCC shoots as soft as a MPX. My .45ACP PCC shoots softer.
  2. I added a small nylon spacer to the rear of the spring. Fit perfectly on the ISMI guide rod. Slide does not move now. 13# ISMI is the way to go for me.
  3. That's what I was thinking. Use Glock cups.
  4. Call me stupid, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the plastic cups to replace the firing pin spring. Help.

    Slide Release

Turns out that the slide will go forward when you seat the mag like a Glock.
  6. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. The recoil spring appears to be a little softer. Feels like a 16-17#.
  7. We allow .22 LR PCCs in our local IDPA matches. I run $40 China-Mores on them with a real C-More dot. They last as long as the real thing.
  8. I run a C-More Rail on all of my PCC rifles. I zero them at 10 yds and remember the hold overs. I use a 12moa dot also. I have an inexpensive red dot on the right side offset mount for the tight shots around a wall.
  9. I have settled on my two builds. The .45ACP build was a complete rifle from Pro2A. I replaced their buffer and spring with a 5.56 carbine spring and a KynSHOT RB5015 buffer. I use a CMC 2.5 trigger in both. 9mm build is a Foxtrot Mike lower and usual 16" upper with a pencil 9mm barrel. Same buffer items as the .45ACP. I run 2.8 gr of WST with a 160 gr 9mm and a 200 gr LSWC. Both make a 135PF. The 9 shoots as softly as the MPX. The .45 is softer and makes bigger holes. I use a C-More Rail with a 12moa dot on both. I run China-Mores on my .22 PCCs. Same 12moa C-More dot. I may build an 8" or 10" 9mm SBR soon as IDPA does not specify minimum barrel length.

    Slide Release

Does anyone make an extended slide release/stop for a Canik SFX Rival - S? The stock one is hard to hit with my thumb.
  11. Shot it some more today. I runs the 13# ISMI spring on a Glock guide rod perfectly. The slide will move just a touch while pulling the trigger if I hold the muzzle straight up. I do have a 15# ISMI spring on the way that I will try.
  12. It would appear that Canik may have lightened the recoil spring. My Steel version cycles my bunny fart loads just fine. 2.6 gr of WST with a 160 gr painted bullet. The sights don't move. May try a red dot again. Guessing mine is a late production as I just got it.
  13. I just finished testing my three PCC rifles. All three exceed the IDPA 135 pf by at least 10 fps. 9mm - 160 gr 2.8 gr WST. .40 S&W 180 gr 2.6 gr Solo 1000. .45ACP 2.8 WST 200 gr LSWC. Ran all three across our LabRadar chrono. The .45 is the softest, followed by the .40, with the 9mm bringing up the rear. All three use the Kynshot RB5015HD and the Kynshot buffer weight. The .45 shoots softer than a gas gun. The dot does not move. The .40 is about like a gas gun. The 9mm is a touch harsher. BTW all three use a plain 5.56 carbine recoil spring.
  14. IDPA limits you to the number of no-shoots to shoots.
  15. I will take my chances with non threats. I only see one or two per stage. Usually none.
  16. WST has become my favorite powder for 9mm, .40 and .45acp. Caught some on sale at MSS a couple of years ago and bought two 8lb jugs. Natchez had it on sale this year with free hazmat and shipping. Bought 6 one lb bottles. I load 2.8 gr with a 160 gr bullet in 9mm for PCC and handgun. 3.0 gr in .45 with a 200gr LSWC for PCC and .45 minor. It meters like Titegroup. I sold a friend my jugs of Clays and Clay Dot to use in his Banshee. The only powders I currently own are Solo 1000, Titegroup and WST. I have to bump the 9mm load up to 3.0 grs when my wife shoots her 9mm 1911 to make PF. I mostly load .45acp for my uses as I have around 50K of LPP. Down to 30K of SPP.
  17. I wanted to keep it soft shooting for IDPA.
  18. I put a 9mm PCC together with sale and clearance. The most expensive item was the Joe Bob complete lower at $239. takes Glock mags. Barrel was at Midway on clearance for $69. Upper slick side also at Midway $69. BCC was at Joe Bob $119. Hand guard from Ebay $39. CMC 2.5 lb trigger $119. 10oz buffer. $700ish dollars total. OTOH it is hard to beat the PSA AR-V for $760. Mine has never failed after thousands of rounds.
  19. I run 5.56 carbine springs in my PCC guns and 10oz buffer in my 9mm. My 9mm uses 160 gr bullets with 2.8gr of WST. Dot does not move. My .45ACP rifle shoots even softer with the same spring and KynSHOT hydraulic buffer. No bounce with either.
  20. I received my latest PCC from Pro2A Tactical last week. I have been shooting a 9mm PCC that I built for several years in IDPA. I am running a 10oz buffer and a 5.56 carbine spring in it, along with 160gr 9mm coated bullets. Load is 2.8gr of WST. I get a 138PF with it. It shoots very softly. My Pro2A is in .45ACP. Load is 3.0gr WST with a 200gr LSWC -140PF. I am using the same 5.56 spring along with a KynSHOT RD5015HD buffer. It shoots softer than my 9mm. Actually feels like a gas gun. The big holes really help the scoring.

    Slide Cut

Does the Vortex Venom use the same slide cut as the Burris Fast Fire 3?
  22. Gun locked down at the range yesterday with the 3.5 gr load. The LW slide stop has too much left to right movement. Did not have that issue with a Glock slide stop. Ran out of daylight for more testing. There was one total failure to extract with the 3.2 grain load using the Glock slide stop. Fired case was left fully in the chamber.
  23. My G41, with stock frame, feeds and ejects the 3.2 gr load with both 11 and 13# ISMI springs. I put the stock recoil spring back in last night. It cycled with a 3.5 gr load of Clays. Only fired three rounds in the basement before my trophy bride yelled at me. I don't see the need to polish the chamber as it runs without any issues using the stock frame.
  24. I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago to play with. My G41 runs flawlessly with 3.2 gr of Clays and a 200 gr SWC using the stock frame. The Lone Wolf fame is causing a major issue. Every few rounds or so I will get a failure to extract. The slide will pull the empty case out about half way leaving it laying on top of the next round in the mag. I run an aftermarket guide rod with 11# ISMI spring. I tried a 13# ISMI spring also. I changed the extractor, load bearing plug and it's spring. Nothing works. I even replaced the ejector in the LW plastic block with a stock Glock ejector. I have been shooting Glocks for 25 years. Have done over 200 trigger jobs. I bought the assembled frame rather than the bare frame. This one has me stumped.
