  1. They are a great product and I would be using them now except the prices are too high. Right now, without shopping around, I can buy Precision Delta 115 gr FMJ for .066 each delivered. I just got an order yesterday. They also are good bullets and FMJ. Black bullets international's price is $199./ 3500 or .0091 each less, delivered. That means with the plastic coated lead bullets I can save $91. per 10,000 bullets or 91 cents per hundred. Hey that's great, I can't save $91. on something everyday. I still remember the last time I "saved" money though, loading lead bullets. Now I know what you're thinking, "These aren't the same," and they aren't -- the plastic coated are much, much better, but for all the grief I had feeding through the automatic bullet feeder and the progressive press I'd have paid $20. per hundred not to be there in that situation. I cleaned out the feeder, seating die and factory crimp die many times and had lots of rejects that wouldn't fit my gauge. Although their bullets are very good, but nothing feeds in your loader and in your gun like jacketed bullets. Plated bullets have worked great for me but they as much or more than the fmj. All these bullets need to be more of a savings [and should be] for me to use them. Hopefully they will get there soon as metal prices have been down a long time.
  2. THat shore is purty AND in an emergency it could double as a wood rasp.
  3. SVI has some mags in stock and I have gotten orders in a week or two lately. They have really geared up mag production since The Messiah got into office.
  4. Does anyone have any idea where else to get a golf cart? A member earlier said he reserved one from TNT for $140. for the match. A couple of years ago at the Nationals it was $75. ???????????
  5. This should be a great match, like all of Drazy's. I signed up. It's an opportunity to shoot steel, which many of us need practice at. We'll be seeing a lot more steel matches with USPSA taking over The Steel Challenge

    Rule 8.3.2

Personally, I have a lot more important things to concern my self with at, "Shooter Ready?"
  7. I hate when that happens: just as you lift the tube [and it's too late] you realize THIS is a bad idea !
  8. I've use Winchester small pistol and small rifle almost exculsively, forced a lot in, some sideways and upside down, some crushed till they were seated to the right depth, usually unbeknownst to me till later when I inspected. So far all is serene. I'll probably be crawling down from the ceiling when one does go off then upstairs to change my pants. Do we have any feedback on particular brands of primers that went BANG ???

    Slide speed

That is some fast powder. I heard it is so fast that you can use lead bullets cuz before the ends start to melt they are out of the barrel and gone.
  10. You looked good. You looked like most of the rest of us. That's a compliment ! I have trouble with the grip safety sometimes too, strong or weak hand. I adjusted all mine so they have a minimum amount of movement required to deactivate it [see Bob Londrigan?? article on this in Frontsite or on his website- Brazos]. It helped a lot. I feel like you do in that I don't want to deactivate the grip safety but I have often still thought I wish I knew a way to pad it out a bit as it still gets me occasionally - - - any ideas anybody ?????????????????????????
  11. Wow! I'm still stuck on the circumcized gnats -------------- at 80 yards, no less ! I wondered why all those gnats had sore, red ........ never mind.
  12. Why would you want to apologize to a used car salesman? I've had the same experience with Brian. I think we all need to remember to buy from Brian since he supports our sport AND THIS FORUM, which is so valuable to us all. He, right here, does more for our sport than anyone else I can think of. I'm sure it costs a lot each month to keep this site running AND handle all our traffic plus he probably likes to eat regularly. Buy from Brian !
  13. I am really glad you found the problem before it did damage to you. I also started out with Lee equipment. I love their presses and dies;still use their dies. In fact I wish I had bought Lee rather than the recent Redding dies. I had the same problems as you with the same powder measure, no drops, light drops, drops hanging up and then you get the partial and the full drop in the next cartridge. It did this even with good flowing powders. It's an accident waiting to happen. Stop using it. I bought a Hornady lock n load powder measure, which I love. It is the most accurate of all I tried AND when I went to a XL650, I bought parts to adapt it to automatically bell and drop the powder. One of the things I like other than the accuracy and adaptability is you can buy a micrometer gauge for adjusting the powder dump and later go back to the same setting OR for $12. buy a dedicated adjustable one to lock in for a favorite load. I have one micrometer and several I dedicated to make the job easier. If you decide to go this route, pm me and I can give you several part numbers, including that for the linkage to make it automatic with your press.
  14. NO COMPARISON: My vote is for the Pro Ears Dimension Gold's with 33nrr. Have tried several kinds and they are the best I found for the money. I like the digital Game Ears best but they are WAY too high priced. Peltor 6 are crap as they let too much sound thru and probably are damaging you hearing, permanently. The Pro Ears battery argument doesn't wash. If you watch where you buy the N battery, like you watch the price of everything else, they are reasonable. Home Depot has a pack of 2 batts for about $2. and I have seen them cheaper too. Batts last a long time if you remember to shut them off. I think the newer models [some of them anyway] have an auto shutoff feature. Still when shooting a comp indoors I would use earplugs in addition.

HaaaaaaaaaaaHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !! I like that one: I'm always glad when someone's not shitting me. I bet it'd be fairly painful for the both of us.

  17. The only brass I've had trouble with is the AP [Armscor]. It seems to be the old stuff, without the 2 digit date on it and some marked 02 [2002]. I understand they had some bad batches 5 or so years ago. You should, when sorting your brass, look for the line on the outside that will start to form where the web is [inside bottom of the case], an 1/8" or so up from the extractor groove on the outside. It starts out as a shiny or frosted spot and before rupture usually starts to look like it is opening up [a ring of small pits] or some appear as an offset of the brass, where it looks like it was fireformed on a ledge in the chamber [it actually is the supported part staying put and the non-supported moving away from it. This is near the failure point -use caution. Usually earlier than most of the above are very evident you'll find the primers gone after shooting or they fall in when priming --this is the ideal time to give up on these. To the scrap bin.
  18. Last time I got it, I tried that "Blue Ointment", couple of days it was good as new.
  19. A great one. I sent it to a few friends.
  20. Now, now. You have to give the guy credit for inventiveness. Some of us just can't do the stupid "one at a time into the tube thing" with our fast, easy progressive press - - I can't.
  21. Sorry for the pain in the _____. I have apersonal rule: I will not buy things with batteries I can't replace myself. It's built in obsolescense, in fact, I've been "had: a few times with special replaceable batteries that they quit making. Nothing like a good old AA or two OR if you need real power, like for a digital camera - - the Nickle metal hydride AA are the cat's butt.
  22. Good advice, Howard. I haven't tried this but it is along the lines of a prior suggestion and thought next time one "gets" me I'd try it. Use one of those left hand thread screw removers. For the broken screw you normally drill a hole in what's left, tap this lefty in and wrench it out. Here I was thinking you could just tap it in and wrench it out. Sears and elsewhere has these in sets. Good luck, you'll probably need it.
  23. I recommend whatever hat you get for the summer have lots of ventilation as most of the hats I've tried keep your body heat in and add the sun to it. WHEW !
