Neomet
Had lunch today with a very nice woman I work with. Went back to our desks and 15 min later I hear her sobbing hysterically. She got the call that the vehicle her 23 year old son was in got hit with an IED. Right foot is gone, left one is badly mangled and may not be viable. They are flying him to Germany. I'm sorry I can't be more eloquent right now but this just plain freaking sucks.

SiG Lady
It seems to be the signature injury of this particular war. Unfortunately.

CSEMARTIN
This kind of news makes me sick to my stomach. I feel for your friend and her son. Let's all pray the doctors in Germany can save his foot. Thank God he's alive--there has got to be some comfort in that. My buddy came back after a lengthy tour in Iraq. His Humvee got hit with and IED. Fortunately, he wasn't injured, but one of the guys in his unit lost his arm.

tripwire
Thank God he's alive, and I hope they can save his foot. I also hope his unit found the button pusher.
leam
Yes, it truly stinks. However, you got to help another human through a really bad time. That's one positive to this. Leam
